This place was very good at it for the first time tonight and I loved it very good curry very good rice I will be going back again

Excellent new Thai restaurant. The flavors are authentic with a fast, friendly wait staff. We had Thai iced tea, Pad Thai, and Curry Shrimp Fried Rice. It is not a large restaurant, and they seem to be busy during peak times. We were fortunate that a table was leaving- because they were full, and we were able to be seated right away. Beware, hot means hot here!! The pad Thai was presented inside of a crepe made from egg which looked and tasted delicious! Table next to us had a dish served in half a pineapple- gonna have to go back and see what that was all about. read more

I've been coming here for years and always get great food and service. They have plenty of gluten free options which is really nice.

From what I've been seeing, the Yelpers have this right. It's very good Thai food. The three of us arrived just after a big party of ladies having some sort of work lunch, and we were worried we wouldn't get our food for an hour. There only appeared to be 3 people in the kitchen, from what we could tell. After deliberating a bit, we decided to try it some other day. Our waitress saw us leaving and made sure we knew she'd take good care of us if we stayed. She said she'd put our order in front of the large party's order, so we stayed. Sure enough, about 7 minutes later, our food came. I ordered the Spicy Basil beef with brown rice. The dish was nicely presented, and the brown rice was actually a purplish color that had me concerned at first. I thought it would be mealy and essentially destroy my lunch, but to my surprise, it was cooked to perfection, toothsome, yet soft enough to be the perfect companion to the dish. As for the dish itself, I ordered it 'hot', and was not disappointed. the beef tasted extremely fresh, and the vegetables were just right. There was enough heat to satisfy me, which is saying a lot. I like my Thai food super spicy, and it was perfect. My friends both really enjoyed their dishes, which were very well-presented. Overall, it was very good, and the only reason it's not a 5-star review is the fact that lunch cost $15 with tip, and there was no soup/eggroll/dessert included. I don't normally compare places, but Thai Spice on Paseo Del Norte offers those for $11 with tip. That said, I thought the main dish was a step above, and I'll be thinking about it for days to come. read more

We had the money bags which were delicious; though the center was still cold on a few. We tried the Thom Kha Kai and the Thom Yum soups. Both were very flavorful. They were such large portions that we brought half of it home. We got "medium" spicy on the soups. It had some heat but was definitely not overpowering. My partner had the steamed vegetables and appreciated the variety. He thought they were steamed perfectly. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu! read more

Love the Pad Thai & always order it. Staff are very nice. The only concern is the kitchen staff doesn't wear gloves when cooking. Not sure if that's acceptable..? read more

One of the best Westside examples of Thai cuisine. We did a series of appetizers instead of a big meal. All the tastes were interesting and vibrant. read more

Small but clean with good Thai dishes! Food can be prepared hot (spicey) to scorching hot!

Excellent. Two thumbs up. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. Our server was friendly and helpful. We had a few questions about the wines and beer, and she was able to answer them. The food was amazing. I had the red curry with shrimp. Delicious! Medium hot was just the right amount of heat for me. My bf had the pumpkin currry, hott. Excellent flavor and heat. Good food, nice cozy atmosphere, great service. Good prices. Ideal location. Parking was not an issue. Nice view of the east side and the mountains. What more could you ask for?! read more

We have been coming here since it first opened and it was great. The staff was very attentive and the food was fresh and full of flavor. However, when we ate there a couple of months ago we noticed a change in the quality and lack of flavor in our entrees. Service was still great and the prices remained reasonable, but the food didn't taste the same. Last night we decided to try Thai Boran again. Service was inconsistent, the food was bland, under cooked vegetables, chewy meat and lumps of grey matter that were supposed to be wide egg noodles. They were out of lemons and essential to Thai cuisine, limes. Even though there is a grocery store just down the street. Why management doesn't think outside the box to keep their restaurant stocked is beyond me. In conclusion, I gave up on my meal and went to the register to pay and was asked how was everything. I asked if she wanted an honest answer, to which she said yes. I told her the service was inconsistent, the food was disappointing and that the restaurant had gone downhill, that it was still good even during the pandemic. The general manager beside her informed me that obviously there is nothing that will make me happy and I am free to eat elsewhere in the future! Is this the way they want to keep customers? We definitely will not be eating here again. Thank you Thai Boran for going downhill even though we supported you during these last 2 difficult years of loyalty. read more

I love pineapple curry white rice.and egg rolls THEY where perfectly cooked and tasty read more

I do enjoy Thai Boran. It's pretty good as Thai goes and it's always clean. On a side note, it looks like a normal restaurant which is great. Thai restaurants in town generally just feel a little sketchy so, This is a new favorite. Pro tip: it's cheaper than the food at Flix Brewhouse so it makes for a great before movie dinner. Not to mention the small intimate feel of the restaurant. read more

My wife got me on the Thai food train.... massive fan of the yellow curry here. The best I've had in town. There's other great curry locally but Thai Boran has this thick and creamy texture, good stuff! Also, the staff is suuuuuper kind and inviting. read more

Friendly staff, very attentive. Red Duck Curry with medium spice. The flavors where layered perfectly! A single bite results in 30 seconds of flavor development in your mount. Great job! read more

I love Thai food and this is one of the best places to eat in Albuquerque. Though I am not a huge fan of Thai money bags, I love their stir fry dishes and mango sticky rice. Good service! Overall I will recommend this place. read more

Their food is the BEST Thai food in Albuquerque. Unfortunately their service is what brings them down. They sell their food on Grubhub and others but rarely make it available when you actually want to eat. It's always "closed" when you try to order. If you decide to make the drive for an order to go, give yourself double whatever they quote you. Sometimes they will flat out tell you they aren't taking anymore orders. It's a shame to have such amazing food and not be able to scale to handle the business of a regular size fast service restaurant. read more

We love this place. We often come here for dinner before heading next door for a movie. Our most recent trip was just simply off dinner. As always their service was on point. The wait staff is super friendly. Hubby deviated from his regular chicken friend rice in a pineapple bowl to try their chicken sweet and sour and I had my regular, chicken in yellow curry. The food was delicious as always. This is one of our go to place for a nice meal. The interior is small but definitely not the flavors. read more

The food here is far superior to any other Thai food I've tried. I wish I could remember the name of the mushrooms in the Panang curry! So luscious, and the waitress knew all about them. She was so knowledgeable and upbeat at all times. I brought some friends and we were accommodated to eat family style. Try the pineapple stir fry, it's great! read more

Really good food. Small restaurant with a big menu. Will definitely return. Had Tom Yum Seafood and mango salmon.

Very bad food!! To expensive,no flavor in the food , the presentation was awful! The water taste like chlorine ! I very hardly not recommended bad costumer sevices and pretty bad actitud! the food is very greasy read more

An Albuquerque friend suggested that we try Thai Boran for lunch, and I am really glad we ate there. We both had the amazing seafood curry - I had the mild version, and I laughed as the sweat broke out on his brow as he ate the spicy one. Enormous serving sizes. The brown rice is unique - very dark brown an nutty - and it really came to live with the curry sauce. Be sure to try it that way. I also had a Thai iced tea, and it was wonderful, too. Don't let the "strip mall" appearance fool you - this place is great, and highly recommended. read more

Really excited to try this place since we go to the movies next door at least once a week. A little worried about the parking but we went when it wasn't crowded. Very very clean. This is an absolute MUST for a restaurant and was very Happy to find a clean restaurant, clean dishes, cups, silverware, bathrooms. Excellent cleanliness. Ordered Chicken pad thai. Delicious. Server was attentive, kind and refilled the small cups. Complaint is seriously, the cups were small, I apologize for continuing to get a refill but why aren't they bigger? Another Complaint is the food is a bit too expensive. The Chicken pad Thai comes wrapped inside an egg crepe. It's very good, but the portion is small and the price is too high. Absolutely delicious food, but you can get delicious pad Thai elsewhere for less money and a bigger portion. read more

This is the best Thai food in the city, hands down. Everything I've tried is delicious and just as good when you order take-out. During busy hours the wait for takeout can take a bit more time than what's ideal, but I have no problem waiting for this food. The panang curry is a must-try! read more

We just arrived from out of town and we were so happy to see they were open for dine in. My husband and I went straight to the restroom to wash our hands before sitting down to dine. My husband had to wait because the men's restroom was occupied (it's a single person restroom). A member of the kitchen staff exited and as he was leaving he was zipping up his pants, my husband then noticed that the sink was dry. HE DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS!!!! My husband also noticed there was pee in the toilet and he didn't flush!!!! I am a female but from what I understand a male has to touch his parts to urinate, and this man DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS!!! The sad part is this is one of our favorite places to eat and there was not a single person in there eating...so my guess is they could not afford to lose business in these times....needless to say we did not eat there I couldn't . The food is worth 5 stars but the way it's prepared with unwashed hands is worth negative 100 stars in my opinion. read more

If you like good Thai food, you'll find it here! I mean it may not be precisely what you ordered, and you might miss a birthday or two while you wait for it, but eventually you'll most likely get something tasty! Seriously, we've given this place several chances and really the food is always good overall, but the service is extremely lackluster and slow, and frequently inaccurate. As we're not really interested in playing Thai Food Roulette, we'll be looking elsewhere from now on. read more

So when this place is busy standards go out the door. When we entered nobody greeted us. There were 3 tables to sit at but they were dirty. We ordered crab rangoons and goong Ka borg as appetizers and the chicken pad Thai to share. The food took a long time. The crab rangoons came out cold. Our pad Thai also was cold. This is after we split the pad Thai to share. They proceeded to remove the plates and they tossed it back in the pan and served it to us again. I was appalled. I asked the waiter for our check. I couldn't believe that they would serve food again especially after it was already served. That is such a horrible health standard!! We will not return. It was one of our rare date nights too. read more

I used to get Thai Boran all of the time but since my last two experiences at the Westside restaurant, I quit. The second to the last time that I went, I ordered a medium hot soup and it was so hot that I could only eat it a couple teaspoons at a time on top of my own vegetables. The last time I ordered Thai Boran, it was such a huge disappointment that I won't go back. I called for 20 minutes and received no answer and no answering machine. I finally drove over there thinking that they were closed as there was no cars in the parking lot. I went i to order and spoke to the cashier and asked her why she doesn't answer her phone. She said that when she has someone in front of her that she has taken her order for, she lets the phone just ring. So she began taking my order, the phone rang and she answered it to take their order. Bizarro world! I took my order home and discovered that it was chicken instead of the vegetarian that I ordered. She said they would remake my order so back down to the restaurant I went. When I got home with this order for myself and my daughter it was unbelievably poor. The soup had so many inedible things in it that we had to spit out as they were non-chewable. There were about 15 or so pieces of lemon reed which is meant for seasoning but not meant to be in the soup as you cannot chew them. There was also hard rock sweet potato, we believe, that you had to spit out. A huge disappointment especially since it cost about $26. Plus, this was a surprise dinner for my daughter who I just picked up from the airport. I was embarrassed as I had told her this was good Thai food. When I called back to speak to someone in charge they said the manager was at the other store and would not give me his number. Considering I ordered from here at least once a month, they have lost a good customer! Buyer beware. read more

Was looking for a quick bite to eat by the movies and it was not the best idea we had. Pad thai was like eating baby food. It was overcooked and under seasoned. Service was not that great, the waiter didn't even clean our table fully before running off and had another person clean it. Did not get a refill on our water which was left on the edge of the table for the whole meal. Price was reasonable but for the quality of food I would of paid the extra money for it to not taste like baby food. read more

It's a weekly Sunday night normal affair to order a pick up at Boran. I get the yellow curry chicken with brown rice, pad see uw with beef and the chicken spring rolls. It's the most delicious mix of spices, and flavor. I love that I can order and pick up with 20 mins . The service is wonderful, always a smiling staff when I pick it up. I highly recommend read more

This is definitely the best Thai food in town! We love everything that we order. My favorite is the Tom Kha and the Eggplant Curry. I love spicy food and they definitely make it hot!! I reviewed Thai Boran in late May and gave it 5 stars. This visit took place in August or September, and was the opposite of our earlier experience! I called for take-out, ordering fish and yellow curry, which I have had many times. I thought it was pretty good. The next day I was sick, tossing up the previous evening's dinner. You don't have to tell me twice; I've not been back. nor will I go back!! read more

It was just okay for me. The service was good the food was okay. Had the money bags, they were good. Probably won't go back.

Thai Boran is excellent and has gotten much better than on my previous visits. However. last night, the staff member assembling the orders into the plastic bags on the front counter was not wearing protective gloves or a mask. This is without a doubt my favorite Thai restaurant in Burque. They really know that a true eating experience starts with the eyes and each plate is beautifully prepared and presented. Our party had the chicken satay, pineapple curry with pork, and spicy Thai fried rice. But seriously, all the plates are so gorgeous that you can't help but marvel at that the table next to you ordered. For dessert we had the mango and sticky rice. Everything was so yummy, you'll want to lick your plate in public (but manners). I've already been back for take out and they apply the same attention to detail to their take out orders too. Don't pass up this spot, make it a point to get here and you won't be sorry. read more
