I always go for their happy hour on sundays. I've been going for years and have noticed that their portions are getting smaller. Yes I know it's happy hour and portion sizes are smaller than normal. However, even for happy hour- the portions are noticeably getting smaller. In my tofu drunken noodles I could count on my fingers the amount of noodles that were used. Flavor is still there but I would rather just order off the normal menu instead of happy hour for the price and portion. Service is also nothing to write home about. We ordered crab pad thai (medium spicy) and drunken halibut. Food came out pretty soon, presentation of the food was very nice. My pad thai was not as spicy as i wanted and it was on a sweeter side than my liking but overall i liked the amount of crabs and the portion was good Drunken halibut was very good but some pieces were over cooked and dry. Food was all right. But service left a lot to be desired. It looked like our table, as well as those around us, were being served plates that came ALL at once. No kidding. The appetizers, soups, and entrees, ALL CAME AT THE SAME EFFING TIME. Imagine my annoyance when we spent over $200 and had to wait nearly an hour staring at an empty table hungry, and then having to watch most of our plates grow cold when half a dozen dishes came in tandem. I called and apparently they are running behind and it will be another 20 minutes of sitting in their parking lot on a Friday evening. Utterly ridiculous. I come here often for their happy hour, which is great! They have plenty of seating and can accommodate families with small children. My favorite dishes to get are the Tom Kha Soup, Drunken Noodles, beef salad, Larb, and the wings. read more

After church my husband and I are always deciding on what to eat after and we really were craving some Thai Food. Read the reviews and saw the pictures of the food and we came immediately after LOL the ambience is very nice and the portions are pretty large so you can definitely share it with somebody else. Everyone at work was talking about this restaurant and hyping it up so I knew I had to try it. I went for dine in and was seated immediately. The waitor was very kind and patience. He let me take my time to look over the menu and was very prompt when I had questions about the menu. I ordered chicken pineapple fried rice and chicken Koi Soi noodles (I think that was the name) both 3 star spicy. The food came out quickly, which I was relieved about. But the food was absolutely delicious and this was the first thai restaurant that ACTUALLY followed through with the spice! The heat was there and my forehead was sweaty! Lol I was so surprised because most places never really come through with the spice. I think it might of been a little to spicy actually lol so next time I will order 2 star spicy. It is a little more expensive than most places around I have noticed.... but the portions are huge! So it is worth it. I will come back and defintely try other dishes! read more

Thai Bloom is in a unassumingly strip building with a couple other businesses in the same strip, so it's not super fancy and their food isn't very spicy, but when you go to the bar side of the restaurant, it's fairly hip and laid back and they have an amazing happy hour and great service. They're also always playing whatever the most important show or sports game is of the day on the screen above the bar, so it's all good. Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans as well, so there should be something to eat for everyone. Also, try their specialty cocktails. There's one that's basically a thai ice tea with booze. Service was SLOW. We were there from 12pm to 2pm and not by choice. Our group had a party of 8 adults and 2 kids, 10 people in total and we were the first customers on Saturday at noon. They got our table set up and we ordered drinks first. Our waitress came back with the drinks maybe 10 minutes later and took our order. By this time the restaurant wasn't completely full yet but was filling up. It took a while for our food to get to our table but understandable since they were getting busy. I felt bad for our waitress since she was running around taking everyone's order and bringing food and drinks out but at the same time they should have had more people working on the weekend. Our waitress finally came back to our table after we were done eating and asked if anyone wanted dessert. I told her I wanted to claim the yelp check in offer, showed her the offer, "claimed" the offer in front of her, and she never brought out the ice cream. We waited a long time for boxes to be brought to our table for our leftovers, then waited for someone to bring us the checks, then waited for someone to take our checks, and finally for our checks to be returned. I didn't want to waste anymore time by reminding them I was supposed to get the check-in offer. I really enjoyed what we ordered tom yum noodles, beef broccoli, pad thai, curry noodles. All were delicious. Would definitely go back again if there was more than 1 waitress/waiter working. And our waitress was super nice.. just wish she had some more help to make our experience more pleasant. TLDR; Spent 2 hours at the restaurant due to slow service. I have always enjoyed my visits to Thai Bloom. The service is always friendly and the food quality is consistently above par. My favorite item is the soup that is like pho and Tom Ka had a flavorful soup baby. Rice noodles, ground pork, bbq pork and a savory broth. It cures my cravings and fills my belly. The only issue is the outdoor seating and the bees that swarm around while you try to eat outside but that's not the establishments fault, just a note for anyone with bee allergies. read more

Great Happy Hour menu and drinks! This has become a weekly stop after busy work days and nights. I always meet the nicest, most interesting people during my visits. Excellent crab ragoon and shrimp wonton soup. Papaya salad is also a wonderful and tasty raw food option. Even the iced tea is refreshing and delicious :-) My girlfriends and I had the best time during our last visit and never feel rushed. I meet lots of small business people here and the bartenders definitely know their locals which is great. I also love the outdoor patio area which is really cute and quaint. Nice place. Tables are in cosmetically rough shape. Food was good. I got the drunken noodles and asked for spicy level 4 out of 5. It was good but I felt like the noodles were too wide and they were oddly sweet. I also tried the prawn wonton soup and the soup itself was good, but the prawns were very shrimpy tasting. I come for the coconut ice cream, but my dinner is always average. Seriously, the ice cream is the only reason I keep coming back; it's light and creamy and not overly sweet. The ability to order online and have it delivered is great, but I'm starting to let the quality of food and lack of attention to my order outweigh that convenience. I always order the same thing from Thai places: tofu salad rolls and tofu pad thai. Their pad thai is tasty, but does not compare to other places in Portland or even Beaverton (I prefer Thai Noodles, Etc.) My major issue with the tofu pad thai: my last order had two small cubes of tofu. That was it. Plenty of noodles, but two cubes of tofu. It's like ordering a plate of chicken alfredo and getting noodles, broccoli, and two 1/2 in sized cubes of chicken. I feel like I've gotten more protein in the past, but never to the amount it should be. I was a bit ticked off on my last order when I ordered tofu salad rolls. I even had the person taking the order repeat "tofu salad rolls" and received shrimp. The rolls were wrapped so tightly and I did not notice the mistake until I had bitten off a piece of shrimp. My meal was spent in the bathroom washing the taste of seafood out of my mouth instead of enjoying my food (I really really hate seafood). It sucks that I can't stomach the taste of something unexpected, but I wish they would pay more attention to delivery/to-go orders as it's a major selling point for this place. read more

Chicken pad Thai is great and so is the crab fried rice. My wife also likes the chicken green curry. We get it with no spice, but if that's your thing they can make it as spicy as you can handle. We have only had takeout but the place is always packed when I show up and the food always takes longer then they say it will. First of all, the service was amazing, right from entering through the doors. I came with my wife and 4 kids (all under 4). They provided the high chair and grabbed drinks for all kids. The food was amazing and delicious. We got 4 orders of chicken potstickers, 1 order of fried calamari, drunken noodles, and spicy chicken with basil. 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13: We went in and there was a woman at the front desk wearing a scowl on her face. No greeting at all to customers, so we put our names on the list. Then another couple came in and got similar treatment. We left at that point, figuring this restaurant isn't fit to be in the hospitality industry. There happy hour menu is awesome for small plates as well as for cocktails. Lupe's aggressive behavior was uncalled for. He made a mistake on a fried rice order. When the client asked him to take it back and only provide vegetables, he began to condescendingly holler at her explaining how fried rice is made. She asked him to leave her alone and he said no. He then followed her friend who was seeking help from another manager and told her that nothing would happen because he was in charge. The hostess on duty showed nothing but attitude and supported his bad behavior. The only ounce of civility in the staff came from the assistant manager James. Lupe never said he was sorry nor try to rectify the situation. I would never recommend this place! I tried their Hoi- Joh on their appertizer, Drunken Noodle, Fisherman's Fried rice, and Golden Three flavor Fish... Also tried their Pad Thai and to my surprise came in such a pretty & clean presentation. Overall, I will have to go back there again...and again...and again. Still a favorite! We've now been back and are still loving Thai Bloom. The fried rice is something we've tried since our initial visit, and man is it good. The rice has incredible flavor, and is cooked to perfection along with a crispy variety of vegetables like bok choy, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, and your protein of choice. There are 3 in house made hot sauces to go along with meals. The chili paste sauce with the fried rice is just heaven. Makes my mouth sing with happiness. The "special" hot wings are still amazing, as well as the pot stickers. Along with the fried rice we have since tried the salad rolls. Oh my gosh, they are also shockingly good. Fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of everything in a flawless little roll. The Thai Peanut sauce that comes with the salad rolls is also perfection. We do something at Thai Bloom that we don't at most restaurants. That is only order apps, and a side dish. I would say Thai Bloom is an excellent choice for Americanized Thai food in Beaverton. The Tom yum soup was a great balance of sour and spicy. The eggplant stir fry was also delicious. I think they should ask for spicy level because they didn't ask me at all and I forgot to order medium so my plate was lacking in proper spice. I did end up asking for the vinegar jalapeño which they had but prefer spice be added via thai chilies cooked into the dish. I can't wait to go back for lunch! read more
