This is a go to spot for me. The food is always reliable and the portions are huge. Almost lasts me three meals. We always order the fried rice and pad Thai. Tried to order food online and was put on hold for 20 minutes or more till I was hung up on. I called back to let the hostess know I was on hold for 20+ minutes, till my call was dropped. Only for the hostess to laugh while apologizing which is horrible cause how could you be apologizing but laughing at the same time. She's stupid. Came here for Happy Hour. You have to get your order in before HH ends to partake. Most dishes are about $5 less for HH, but the portions are also smaller. I usually find the most popular/common Thai dishes are pretty standardized at most Thai restaurants, and that is the case here. Service was friendly. We came in during a busy time, so the servers were a little disorganized with our orders. However, they were very sweet and very attending! The Ahi Larb, Three-Color Sweet Sticky Rice (because of the inavailability of Mango, we had other varieties of fruit), and Handmade Coconut Ice Cream were delicious! The Braised Beef Stew were also delicious, however seems to be a little bit on the sweeter side. The taste of the Signature Boat Noodle Soup were great, but the noodles were overcooked as it easily broke apart. I on the other hand like spicy food, and asked for a level 5 (max) spice pad see ew (I get max spice just about any thai spot around) What I got was a plate completely covered in thai chili seeds... We went there for dinner in a weekday. They're crowded. We're lucky we got the last table. Waiters are friendly and very helpful to tell us which dish can be made not spicy because some of us in our table just can't eat spicy food. The pumpkin curry is really good. Even we ordered mild it still got a little kick for some of us. The pad Thai is ok. Not super exciting. The Tom Kha Soup was good but it doesn't have a lot of ingredients in it. It's been a while since I've been back and looks to be a popular place to dive for dinner on the Westside. The place was pretty busy and packed. We were lucky to get a seat as someone decided not to show up for their table. We ordered the pad see ew, pad ped beef, pumpkin curry, and the Hainanese chicken. There was a bit of a wait to eat dinner here over the weekend, but it was worth it. What a nice place to eat. We loved our combination sampler appetizer plate and definitely plan to continue getting this in the future. The green curry, panang curry, and pad see ew are all great. To me comfort food is all about that spice. The one you can only find simmering in warm bowl of boat noodle soup. The authenticity! Thai Bloom deserves all its praises. My favorite new restaurant on the west side of the river for Thai food. They did a great job at the bbq pork noodles with the crispy wonton on the side. The no broth but flavorful noodles packed a punch. It was chewy, sweet and savory, with a crunch from the wonton. There's something delightfully sinful about devouring a bowl of noodles so ravenously but when you can combine it into a perfect bite. You really can't help yourself. Next my go to meal - boat noodle soup. The depth of flavor balanced with tender beef - and a rich aroma. When it's done right it takes me back to eating this meal on the river in the middle of back country Thailand. Good food reminds you of home and family. That's why it's comforting. On a side note. I definitely recommend eating this right away if you're doing take out because the noodles can be hard to recook if you're not reheating on stove top. I added a bit more water and some garlic chili oil so it turned out great. Definitely adding this to my list of businesses I'd like to see survive. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer to share between the three of us - there are three in a serving. Crunchy, crabby and delicious. Yum! For dinner I had the asparagus stir fry with chicken. Very good. Might have been too spicy for some, but perfect for me. (They didn't ask...) my friends had the asparagus salad, reported to be really good and the pad Thai from the happy hour menu. We ended coming here for lunch, since both my sisters, who live in Beaverton, both love this place. We actually ended coming back for late night Happy Hour (8 - 9pm) since the prices were so good! Service (3/5): Service was a bit slow and we had to wave the server down to get service, but overall pretty good. Ahi Larb Gluten Free Medium Spice $13.99 Diced ahi tuna seared to perfection and tossed in a lime juice dressing with red onion, lemongrass, roasted crushed rice, Thai cilantro, mint, chili flakes and served with romaine lettuce leaves. We also got the fresh salad rolls (with shrimp, but as others have said, way too many noodles, and not enough shrimp), the tom kah soup (yummy, lightly spiced coconut milk soup with lots of chicken) and the omelet special. Found my new go-to place for Thai! I moved here a few months ago, and have been generally underwhelmed by Thai food at the handful of places I've tried in the area. Let's face it--it's most common for Portland/Beaverton restaurants to go light on the spiciness and funkiness. Enter Thai Bloom. I ordered three of their seasonal dishes for delivery, via their website: glass noodle pork larb, crab pad Thai, and chicken pumpkin curry. I ordered all three as "five star Bloom BOOOOM" spiciness level, and let me tell you, they delivered! The flavors were all excellent, but my favorite had to be the pumpkin curry. The curry itself was rich and complex, the pieces of pumpkin were delicate, and the broccoli, carrots, and other veggies were cooked to perfection with just a hint of crispness. As someone's who loves spicy food, it takes a lot to exceed my tolerance for heat. The larb and curry were just barely above the threshold of what I would consider pleasant; the pad Thai destroyed me lol. The flavors were all on point, and next time I will opt for the four star spiciness (for everything but the pad Thai--I'll probably go with three star there because those noodles really soak up the heat, and I truly couldn't eat more than a few bites). read more

Recently came back after years with a friend for a lunch and was impressed by the consistent taste that I remember from years ago. The service was fast ,they were not the friendliest but I feel that's more owing to the lunch hour rush. We had multiple things that we both decided we will only eat 'some of' but alas that didn't happen and we ended up finishing everything ,lol ! The food was excellent and the spice levels here are also very standard , so you can expect a medium to be medium and a hot to be hot which I feel a lot of Thai restaurants mess up with . Take out Drunken Noodles noodles were very sad: undercooked and over oily. Not a noodle or a vegetable in that container had a sear on it... just limp and barely cooked. Inside was busy for dinner, from my experience the customer receives a quality experience dining in.... But their food quality is poor and not consistent when it comes to offering take out. Still five stars, even through this COVID pandemic. We go for curbside pickup so often the person who answers the phone recognizes my husband's voice and knows the color and make of his truck when he pulls into the parking lot!!! Excellent food. Thai bloom is good food, but it's not incredible. It's almost presented as a high class Thai restaurant but the food doesn't match that. My grandmother is Thai so I grew up with her Thai cooking. This falls a bit short of what I grew up with, however it's still decent Thai food if you have a craving. A bit pricey for my taste too. Service was great and ambiance is nice too. Visited Thai Bloom on another business trip to Portland with a colleague and we over ordered on a delicious dinner. Ordered the fresh spring rolls with an excellent flavorful peanut sauce, pad Thai with prawns, ground chicken with ginger and prawns with green beans. All the different dishes were delicious on their own and they were very generous portions. We both felt guilty for leaving behind at least half of each dish, but it was way too much food for two people. The service was excellent, the waiter checked back with us server times during the meal. If I can, I would've given 3.5 stars. But the food was good, so I rounded up to four. I had gotten the green curry and it had an abundance amount of different vegetables. I did not want any meat. The main issue with my dish was the vegetables were so big and not bite-size so it was awkward to eat. The broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers were bigger than my spoon. Just imagine me taking a bite out of a cauliflower and then kinda spitting the other half out because I can't fit the whole cauliflower in my mouth. It was kind of annoying. The other issue was this spot had a weird vibe. The staff wasn't welcoming and were awkward. They weren't rude but it's nice to have a smile on your face like you want to work there. This time, I got their Roasted Duck curry which consists of bell pepper, rambutan, grape, tomato, pineapple, basil, and, of course, the roasted duck. Thai Bloom never shy away from adding a generous amount of the ingredients, which is one of the reasons why I come here often. I have gotten their Thai Yen Ta Fo (pink noodle soup--yes, it is pink!) before and would highly recommend it. The assortment of toppings combined with wide rice noodles makes it perfect for anyone who is looking to have a little bit of everything in a single bowl. Price: Their entrees are reasonably price. I never try their appetizers since their entrees portion are so big that I could never finish it in one sitting. Overall: Service is really quick. Although I do find it a bit strange that when I go there during non-lunch or non-dinner time, the time it takes to bring the food out is slower compared to lunch/dinner time.
