Take out feast all good except the Pad Thai
Charles C.

In town and decide to give this place another go! Had happy hour and Drunken Noodle, Tom Yum, and the classic Pad Thai all were solid, glad I picked this for lunch!

Thai Bloom is a nice spot, and I really appreciate that they have TVs to watch football -- something far too few restaurants in Portland offer. They also have a full bar, which is a plus. I ordered one of the curry dishes; it was alright, nothing particularly special, but still satisfying. Prices skew a little high, though not unreasonable for the area. Overall, a decent spot if you're craving Thai food and want to catch a game at the same time.

Service was ok but the food was meh. I got the boat noodle and tamarind fried wings. The wings were on the dry side and the boat noodle was too salty, too much MSG. Wouldnt recommend.

ordered the massaman lamb and pad thai (with glass noodles instead of rice noodles) to share amongst the two of us. service was great, super attentive and friendly (was very kind even when my mom kept speaking thai to our server even though he was not thai haha) the pad thai was a bit too salty for my moms liking, and the noodles unfortunately were a bit undercooked but otherwise, we had a great experience here and the environment was lively. happy hour is worth checking out! seems like they had a vast amount of good things to try out.

We came in an hour and a half before closing and it was good timing because it was happy hour. I opted for the tempura which came with veggies and shrimp. It was very delicious and the batter was not too overwhelming. Then we ordered the signature boat noodle soup with beef. I wish it was a bit hotter and it was a tad salty. I think it would have tasted better with rice. We were sat by the bar so of course I had to order a drink. I chose the coconut elixir, it was so light and refreshing. The ambiance was dark and romantic. If I'm ever back in town I'll definitely pay them a visit.

Hands down the best Thai food I've devoured in a very long time! We had a party of 10 show up on a Saturday evening with NO reservations and they were able to seat us almost immediately. I was amazed. I loved their modern menu yet very traditional Thai entrees. Definitely order any of their hot teas (comes out in a nice little personal clay teapot). Wings were on point with the daikon. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were also phenomenal. Both yellow and green curry were fantastic. And the service was attentive yet not overwhelming.

The menu at Thai bloom is a lot more extensive and varied than your typical Thai restaurant. I'm really glad we didn't skip the beverage options either! Even in the middle of dinner rush service is very fast, although the indoor seating area noise level can get a little high.

Ginger Chicken & Garlic Pork

Great customer service and even better food! Huge portions. The garlic pork was the standout favorite. The ginger chicken was great too. Not too strong, loved the variety of veggies. Crab fried rice was okay, have had better but still good. We'll be back!

Was craving some Pad thai and thought I'd try this place for the first time. Came in through the bar side and the bartender was very nice! Assisted us to the main dining area which was nice. Our server was somewhat attentive. I ordered the salad roll with tofu & the majority of the fillings were noodles with a little bit of shredded carrot. The sauces that came with it were good! I also ordered the Crab Pad Thai special and it was okay. The imitation crab was mixed with big chucks of scrambled eggs for $25. More egg than crab & my noodles were very oily. Overall, the food was okay and I had a nice experience.

The best Thai food I have ever had. The spicy Basil Chicken is my favorite but the yellow curry is a close second.

Amazing Thai Food, and service. Highly recommended…read more This place has been a regular go-to for at least once a month for my boyfriend and I. We like to order takeout from this place mostly, but on occasions we choose to dine in to further enjoy the scenery of the place. I am Thai myself so this place does a pretty decent job at making me feel like I'm at home again every time I order their food from here or if I show up to eat at the place. The most recent time I ate from them was February 8th, actually, at 3:00pm a little bit after a rush hour or when it was about to end, so I feel like maybe I ordered at a good time. Still, I had a good experience and a nostalgic feeling with every bite that went down. Their menu is pretty well designed, easy to read, well-laid out and self explanatory. The people always greet you kindly and make you feel welcomed which I think is pretty cool too. The pricing is very much debatable. When I say that, I mean that the price number may shock you while you're reading the menu, but that is until you start eating your dish that you ordered and thought it was "expensive" you realize you almost always need to loosen up your pants after we're done eating like my boyfriend, or you need to bother the waitress for a big to go box after already eating the best you could. Almost every single time, that has happened to us and we laugh about it every single time. We usually order the Sweet Sausage Fried Rice and Pad See Ew with chicken. My boyfriend is a big fan of the sweet sausage fried rice, he is a big fried rice lover already and has had sweet sausage before but never together in fried rice so this menu intrigued him the first time he read the menu and saw it as an option. After he tried it, he never stopped going back for more. I, on the other hand like their Pad See Ew much more because I grew up with homemade fried rice a lot so making it myself wasn't a big deal, but stir fried noodles that was something my family would always go out of their way to dine at or order take out from and they would try to top one another which restaurant they thought was better and why (e.g. more meat, more noodles, looks prettier, worth the money more, it's an award-winning, michelin star winning, franchised by this celebrity from this movie, etc.. you name it) so finding good stir fried flat rice noodles was a hit and miss for my family so eating really good stir fried noodles that I found in the US near the comfort of my home really made me feel good. Their service was exceptional, really. Online and in store, really good. When we were dining in at one point, my boyfriend who is a picky eater due to sensory issues, wanted no onions, tomatoes, and some other things in his fried rice I can't remember too sure. But, I tried speaking Thai to the waitress since her appearance seems to be Thai as well, and sure enough she was Thai too and she was really sweet and helped accommodate me and my boyfriend to suit our preferences the entire time. We also tried ordering Pink Milk too which is a childhood refreshing summer drink of mine which really just consists of Ice, Milk, and Hale Blue Boy Red Syrup but it tastes sweet and smells like strawberry and hits the spot really well on a hot day, and that's exactly what it tasted like. We both loved the drink, we almost wanted to order another one, actually. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to try new foods, is interested in asian, southeast asian cuisine, or even just seafood and other food combinations with it. No need for studying the culture or menu, the people are very welcome to people who don't know anything about Thailand or Thai food at all. I recommend showing up at happy hours too, if you can. They have good deals and discounts on food and all kinds of beverages. Definitely worth the money, can seem like a little bit up there if it's your first time or you just don't eat there too often. Very flexible with accommodations in person and especially, also upfront about additional charges for additions to your menu item. An experience worth paying for from time to time, in my opinion.

Pad Thai had great carmelized chicken pieces, and the papaya salad was amazing! Large shareable portions. Don't sleep on the chicken satay: ginormous pieces of hand pounded chicken that was charred and served with their own peanut sauce. Everything was served with a smile by Huey, our server. They have a fridge full of beer and wine options. Highly recommend!
