Noodle soup med spice veggie and tofu YUM!!!

Lived here for nearly three years and finally tried this place by ordering take out. We called around 5:30 and asked for a 7:30 pick up. It worked so smooth even for a busy Saturday night. They had it ready right on time and it was hot and fresh. Between the four of us we had two orders of chicken Pad Thai, one chicken green curry, and mine was Siam chicken. We all agreed portions were quite large and they were SO GOOD. The meats were all tender and the flavors were to die for. My brother was reminiscing about the best Thai he ever had in Pai, Thailand and he said this was a close second. My husband's medium spicy level Pad Thai was very spicy...so not sure if it was inaccurately prepared or if medium is just that hot. But my medium Siam chicken was very easy to eat and the chili garlic sauce was delicious. I could have used more rice though (but maybe eating in I could have gotten more vs. take out). We haven't had any Thai in Venice since living here but we don't have to look any farther to find better. This will be our go to!

Service: 4.5 Their wait staff killed it with the timing- super quick to bring out the drinks and food! Loved that they got down to business asking what we wanted. Wish we knew their names to give them shoutouts but we weren't really greeted or told their names. They all smiled though and were pleasant with customers. We didn't have plates,utensils or napkins for dessert so we just ate with our hands lol Food: 4 I got a mild curry and my dad got a medium spice curry. They tasted about the same. I selected the vegetable Massaman and was underwhelmed by the amount of vegetables. I can't say I left starving though. I liked the donuts. The sauce wasn't too sweet and complimented the donuts. My dad liked the crushed peanuts but I would have preferred without. Parking: 3 It's a small restaurant anyways, the lot is quite small so depending on time of night, you may be parking on the street? Or waiting for a spot. Pricing: 3.5 The prices were OK. Again, I didn't feel the prices reflected the quantity proportionally. There wasn't a lot of duck in my dad's dish to justify the $25.50 price point. Atmosphere: 3.5 There's a little bit of Thai flare in the decor but other restaurants really jazz up the place with native decorations. Overall, it appeared clean and that's what matters most! I would return and try some of the other dishes! Enjoy! xo

Found this place by accident driving through Venice on our way to Bradenton. Man were we surprised, we certainly did not expect to find amazing Thai food in Southwest Florida. Our waitress was friendly, and the rest of the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. If I ever come back down to this part of Florida, this will be my first stop. Kap khun ka!

Was on a mini weekend getaway in Venice and was craving Thai food. Found this gem. We ordered the Crab Rangoons to share, which are wonton wrapper stuffed with imitation crab meat and cream cheese with a Thai curry seasoning. Amazing! Love the seasoning. I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai, which is tofu with rice noodles that are sautéed with egg, ground peanuts, bean sprouts, scallions, and topped with cilantro. So good! Very flavorful.

I ordered takeout of green curry and red curry and they seam to have forgotten to put any coconut sauce in it. It was running and had no flavor. What a rip off. I would not recommend this that restaurant.

We've been visiting this one since it opened about a decade ago in its first incarnation as a smaller place. It has become a favorite of the area. On a national comparison, it deserves 4 to 4.5 stars. For anything Thai within 100 miles of Venice, it is the best. So bump it up to 5! The Pad Thai and Nam Sod are always reliable. They can make things Thai Hot if you want to clean your sinuses. Most of the other dishes are good to excellent most day. Two warnings: We sometimes find the curries too sweet. The once excellent Goi Cuon are now a bit of a disappointment. The owner has an excellent memory for return visitors. Highly recommend. read more

Best Thai in Venice, not a lot to chose from though. Extremely clean, service friendly and quick! Pad Thai omelet is amazing, along with the best coconut shrimp soup on the planet! Pad Thai shrimp is a favorite, along with Nom Sod salad! Beer and wine only. Perfect for takeout and bringing it to the beach for sunset! read more

WOW. Here in Vegas for birthday and found this place in Yelp. Food is very good. We had Drunken Noodle,Chicken Schezuan,,Red Curry,Green Curry. They even gave me free coconut ice cream. Get off the Strip and eat here. read more

Simply the best Thai food in the area (including Sarasota)! This is a cozy restaurant in a small strip center just on the mainland side of the Venice Ave. Bridge. Everything is terrific and cooked to order. The curries are great as are the soups and stir fries. Service is prompt and friendly with Kwan, the owner, cheerfully greeting her friends and customers. During busy times, parking can be a challenge so grab a spot on the street if you see one. They also do a brisk take out business. Highly recommended! read more

So good! My husband and I love this place. The food is authentic Thai and the service is fast and organized. Very clean. We love the spicy vegetarian Tom Yum and the green curry is amazing. The chicken is prepared and served just like they do in Thailand (a country we've both visited and loved). The fried bananas are a must! A true gem. Yum! read more

Tried to order carryout tonight but phone.lines were not working. My husband went to order and pick up. He was told 15-20 minutes and did not get food until 45 minutes later. Didn't get order correct. Two dinners but only one order of rice. Looking for a new place to order from. read more

Been there twice, once for carry out. Our chicken curry was a bowl of onions, with a small chicken breast on top. Took it back and said the cook was tired. They wanted to add to the bowl of onions, and when we said no they got short. We explained a whole bowl of onions isn't correct and please make it the correct way. Second time, a year later went in to dine. We were first to arrive for dinner and got waited on quick, but took almost 30 minutes for plain fried rice and bowl of vegetables. I ordered a dish described as jumbo shrimp and chicken grilled over sautéed vegetables with curry sauce. My husband said curry on the side. Anyhow the Waitress brought the dish that were medium size shrimp and white chicken and vegetables that looked steamed. Nothing about the dish looked grilled. We told the waitress and she said oh it's not stated right on the menu we have new menus that describe it but she never gave us the new menus so what we got was not what we ordered. We also brought it to the attention of the cashier and she said oh yeah you complained about the shrimp so she already knew that we had complained but no one had the brains to adjust the bill accordingly and deduct the price of the very bland dish that what was supposed to be authentic Thai food. I told my husband we will never go back. Don't know how they get the rating that they have. It's definitely wrong. read more

Friendly staff, good food. I was in town for work and went on a recommendation. I asked for medium spice on my meal and had to add some extra to heat it to my liking. Not a big deal, I'd rather start low and work my way up. Would go back again in the future. read more

The food is excellent! Some of the best Pad Thai I've had. The service was great, all staff members were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant seems like a new remodel maybe; very cute! Parking is the only drawback I saw, especially if going during the week and other businesses are open. No issue in a Saturday night though. read more

Kwan and her staff provide great service and an awesome menu that has all the Thai favorites in addition to some unique entrees that I have never seen anywhere else. We were one a trip and found that there is little to none vegan dining in this part of florida. But fortunately this place has a separate vegan menu! I had the tofu broccoli stir fry which had a sauce that just tasted like liquid aminos. I wouldn't get it again but I wanted something my toddler could have. It was simple and good. My husband got the volcano tofu tempura which was amazing--great flavor, great spice. We got the fried spring roll appetizer, also delicious and not something we find often. Service was very slow on what I assume was a busy saturday night. We were dying from the heat of the dish for at least 20 minutes until we were able to get a refill of our waters. I take one star off because of how uncomfortable it was not having water for most of a hot meal. Servers did seem very nice though. We would love to go again! read more

Kwan and her staff always deliver fresh, amazing food with impeccable service. Crab Rangoon has enough curry to make you take notice, but not overpowering. The crispy duck medium is savory and enough spice to feel the bite but not annihilate the dish. Beer Lao Dark compliments each dish perfectly and keeps us ordering more. The effort and energy shows in their service, style, renovations and consistency with great food for over 13 years! read more

This place was great! Only downfall is they didn't have mango sticky rice, probably cuz it's not in season! I ordered the crab Rangoon, pad thai, and Thai fried rice! Portions were huge, I will have leftovers for at least 2 days. Price is also great considering how big portions are. They were all very friendly too! read more

Best Thai food EVER. Yes. I said it. I am obsessed with Venice Thai bistro. It's close to work so unfortunately I can visit whenever I'd like! I've never been disappointed with the food or the service! The place is always packed- which never surprised me. The chicken pad Thai, hot, is outstanding. Yes I know that's a hard dish to mess up- but this one is perfect - every time! The Red and panang curry are delicious. Drunken noodles are great. The coconut soup ( always ask them to make it hot) is so good I could eat it every day! Prices are very reasonable! Especially at lunch time. I'm so happy to have found such an awesome Thai spot. Best Thai food ever! Never have had a bad dish and we've tried many. The soup was not our favourite but besides that even the desserts are yummy. Not the cheapest but worth the price just don't be shocked if going with a family by the bill. Know the culture going in, the waitresses are not your typical, overly, friendly American waitresses but if you treat them nice they'll make sure you're taken care of. Would always recommend. read more

This restaurant is great! We usually get takeout from Thai Bistro, but have gone in and sat down a couple of times. The food is always delicious and made to order. The service is wonderful and it has a very comfortable atmosphere. It seems that every time I stop by Thai Bistro the place is filled with regulars. I usually get vegetable Panang curry, which is always perfect. We have also tried the spring rolls and seafood soup, which were both delicious as well. The best part is that everything is pretty inexpensive. It cracks me up every time we go to a Thai restaurant and my husband orders "Thai hot" and the ladies look at him with disbelief and try to talk him out of it. "Thai hot" at Thai Bistro was actually not too bad, so if you are into sweating while you eat, give it a try! read more

Again we visited our favorite Thai restaurant and again we were not disappointed. There were 6 of us 4 of us semi-regular and two first timers. We all shared two orders of their delicious spring rolls then we all ordered, some the volcano shrimp others the volcano chicken and we loved it as usual and the newcomers thought it was fantastic. If you enjoy great Thai food this is the place!!!! read more

The food was very good. I was very disappointed that it took 10 minutes before anyone came over to ask for our drink order. We ordered our food at the same time. It was a long wait for the food and they still had not refilled our drinks. We finally asked them to refill our drinks sometime after we received our food. They charged us for the refills and never refilled them again. Three people left a tip but I didn't. We were driving away and she ran to the car, knocked on the window and started loudly exclaiming "Why no tip? Why no tip!?". All I can say is "WOW" :-0 But the food was good. read more

It was packed well and was HOTTTTTTT even after driving the 4 miles home. EVERYTHING was delicious and we will surely be trying them again for take out and also going to dine in...... speaking of whihc the p[lace was ABSOLUTLY PACKED at 7 PM when I arrived. People waiting and now I know why!! GOOD FOOD!! And reasonably priced.

We love the Indian place a few doors away so when this came up on a Yelp search I figured I would drive over from Lake of the Woods/Jacaranda West area and pick it up. By the time I made the trip I did not expect the food to be kitchen hot and fresh: my review is not about that. I suspect to make things even more challenging, they told me it would be ready in 35 to 45 minutes.....and I was there in 30. I think it had been sitting already for a bit...the place was FULL with people waiting. There were 4 drivers in queue for Door Dash and Uber Eats I suspect. We got the Chicken Satay as a common item, which my wife really enjoyed, the chicken was tender and properly cooked. Sauce and seasoning very nice. 8/10 We got the white rice. i am NOT a fan of white or basmati rice or any white rice for that matter, even brown is suspect with arsenic and chemicals and processing and packaging issue. But I would have gone for brown but that seems to be NOT an option here???? My wife selected the Spicey Basil Shrimp which was also nicely prepared and a healthy variety of vegetables lightly cooked and seasoned, a very nice job. The shrimp seemed a good product and not too scary (smile). She could not finish it and is taking it to work/school tomorrow. 8/10 My daughter rolled with the House Fried Rice with double egg but no meat/chicken. We got take out and I could see there was a sushi bar and a lot of people were getting sushi that were sitting at their tables. Otherwise. Not a good experience.

Place is fairly small and has a sushi bar as well, tastefully decorated and clean as well. All In all a great experience as we were in town visiting and took a shot to see how the restaurant was, we would definitely be back and if we lived in the area, we would be regulars.

We ordered Thai food from them to be delivered to our home. They gave us the completely wrong order. My husband and I ordered one very spicy dish and another completely different food, very bland. They sent over 2 of the exact same dishes, both very bland. When we received the food and called to have the correct order sent over, the owner refused and said if we like spicy food, we should just add any hot sauce from our home to it. I explained that neither was even the dish that we ordered. She refused to then send over the correct order and also refused to credit our credit card. My husband ordered Thai Fried Rice which was soggy and was tasteless.... well it tasted like soy sauce and my soups' main taste was soy sauce as well and had barely any vegetables and no basil that I could see or taste. We have eaten in Thai resturants all over the country and in Thailand and thiere was nothing Thai about this food. We have tried this resturant several times to see if it was just the dishes we picked and it lacks the crisp wholesome freshness of Thailand. read more

we eat at Thai Bistro at least twice a week. I favor the Pad Thai and shrimp fried rice with pineapple. My wife likes the cucumber salad. The coconut shrimp is the way to go for an appetizer. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. read more

I've ordered from here 3 times for a takeout order. 2 orders were very good and the third was not. My chicken and brown rice order was far too small to be a normal portion. Especially when they're charging $3 for brown rice. read more
