There is a super loud phone that rings restaurant wide the entire time that they don't seem to answer. I consider the Tom Yum soup awful. It was full of the inedible parts of chicken, an entire onion, and many small bits of inedible plant items. It's fine to add the things for flavor, but make them big enough to avoid getting them in every bite. Also the table was covered in dry soda, after a second wipe down they just couldn't get the table clean. Of course no napkins to set your silver ware on during the meal, you have just the table still covered from the last persons meal. read more

This is a great little Thai place. I've been here a few times already, and the food is always good. They literally have the best crab rangoons I have ever had. They are freshly made, and look like little dumplings. The spring rolls are delicious as well. My husband and I love the pineapple curry with chicken. We order it medium-plus, and it's pretty spicy. If you say hot, they will deliver. The pad Thai is also very good. The servers are always very friendly, and the service is quick. The dishes are pretty inexpensive, considering the portions. I usually go to the Thai basil in Livonia or Plymouth.. I won't be returning to this location. I got a sushi roll that tasted extremely fishy... fresh fish does not taste fishy. I called to let them know and they were dismissive and said I couldn't get credit because I ordered from grubhub. read more

I was already hesitant about ordering a Thai dish for delivery, but I did anyways. Came with the red curry, chicken, peppers and bamboo in one dish. Entirely way too much curry. The amount of chicken in the dish should be embarrassing with the meal costing $15.00 the amount of vegetables was lacking as well. I also ordered spring rolls which were very good. Overall I'd say spending $30.00 for a delivery of this meal is absolutely ludicrous. We noticed this restaurant was opening up after our many visits to Menchies. So we actually visited after they were open for just a few days. The service was great! The owner actually came by to chat with us and told us this was her second location with the first being in Livonia. She gave us a complimentary order of Tod Mun which is a Thai fish cake that came with a sweet plum sauce. It was my first time trying it and it was really good! My hubs is a sucker for fried rice so he ordered the Sweet Chili fried rice, I got the Pad Thai and we ordered a few pieces of sushi and the Yellowtail Carpaccio, this dish came highly recommended by the owner. Overall this is a solid Thai restaurant. Flavors were on point and authentic (the owner is Thai!) so you can't go wrong here! I'll be back for sure! read more

My Roommate and I used to love this place and was our go to place for Thai food. I agree with some of the recent reviews, the chef or management seems to have changed. Sadly the taste and the quality is no longer the same. I've always ordered Pad Cashew Stir fry at this restaurant. Today we ordered Pad Cashew tofu (medium) Pad Bi Kra Prow tofu (medium) Pad Thai tofu (hot) The food was out in less than 5 minutes. Not sure how they were able cook three dishes so fast. Not to mention the excessive amount of sugar and salt in the Pad Thai and Pad cashew. Pad cashew had excessive oil too. When we asked them to fix our dishes and they brought us hot sauce for the pad Thai and drained some of the oil for the pad cashew. I understand Stir fries are supposed to be oily, but this was submerged in Oil. We used to love this place and we're not coming back. read more

Um, what on earth did I just eat??? There were canned green beans in their papaya salad. Let me repeat that again, there were canned green beans in their papaya salad. I think they even emptied the canned preservative juice and mixed it with apple cider vinegar and sugar. YUCK! I ordered this dish because it looked refreshing on their menu... and although the presentation looked pretty (especially with shrimp!)... the dish lacked the basic elements of what makes papaya salad... a papaya salad. There was also a really odd sweet smell that came from it too! I've had papaya salad a LOT in my lifetime and this was the worst one I've ever had. I ended up tossing the whole thing in the garbage after picking it for 2 minutes. (Side note: I MAKE papaya salad from scratch (when I have the time). The recipes are passed down recipes from my Laos, Cambodian and Hmong friends! I was craving so hard and was way too lazy to make it so I settled for carry out at a high rated thai restaurant from yelp! But why are these reviews so off... I'm sorry that I sound like a Thai food snob. I think I am. I'll take accountability for it. ) My vegetable curry with tofu was with egg noodles instead of rice noodles. That in itself was a disappointment. It tasted like ramen noodles with cocunut red curry. I barely got enough vegetables. However, I did like the generous amount of tofu I got with my meal. They packed the curry separately from my noodles container. So I got so much tofu. I ate it all. I think that was the only thing I enjoyed about my meal. The fried tofu. Yep. One star for that. My husband and I tried out this new Thai restaurant in Novi and we fell in love. We started off with the shrimp rolls (not sushi) and they were out of this world. The plum sauce was like no other. The seaweed salad was delicious and crisp. The owner then came to greet us with a sashimi platter. I have never tried sashimi (too scared) but I loved every piece on the plate. Then their sushi chef Venice whipped us up a combination of sushi which was awesome. The fish was fresh and the presentation was the best I have ever seen. Ok I came here hearing about their great sushi so my expectations were pretty High to start. The sushi menu was pretty limited and expensive. It was even a bit difficult to chose which rolls we wanted to try since they didn't seem to appealing. The sushi was clean, light, and presented very nicely. But they just were not flavorful and each were missing something extra. I was a bit disappointed but happy I finally got to try it. An important policy With any business when updating your pricing should be to do it across all markets in store and online unfortunately people who are looking at the menu from home see a certain price and when you walk in and it's $10-$12 more than what you expected it's totally unfair . I Asked for the manager , The lady wanted to know why I wanted to speak to The manager , after I told her She then went and spoke to somebody, the manager didn't get on the phone with me and basically left it at they change their price a Several months ago. I was given this reason as if it was acceptable not to change your prices on your website for over two months.Once again if you don't understand people don't have your real menu in their house because they're looking online you owe them an apology and A refund for the difference. Pretty tasty for American Thai food. Serving size is not massive but just right. I've gotten the same dish on different occasions and found that it varies, so the spice level is always a surprise. I was told that they grow their own chili peppers in the back of the restaurant so the spice has the 'glocal' flare (global flavor, locally sourced). Besides Thai food, they have a sushi bar and offer half-off prices one day during the week. Wait staff is excellent and helpful. This restaurant offers a nice and clean ambiance and a nice selection of menu items. I happen to really enjoy their pineapple red curry, they use a touch of coconut milk in it. Very fresh crab ragoons and spring rolls, definitely made in house. Service is friendly and fast, No complaints at all. Left them a 4 and not a 5 star only because I am comparing this food to Thai food I have eaten in LA that was off the charts good. Ok so I come to this place with my bff cause it looks cute, and I was write it was totally cute inside! We came at like 4pm and it was empty so naturally we told everyone on Snapchat we rented it out. Im a super picky eater and I was scared they wouldn't really have anything I liked and the prices where kinda high so I was like ahh is it worth it. So I got Thai rice with chicken which came out to be $11. So I was like ok ill take it home, noooo this stuff was amazing I came in not that hungry and ate my whole plate, one second my food was there the next it was gone. Soo good! Also ordered "Haw Mok Talay" for the first time because on the menu, it's the house specialty and GLUTEN FREE. It was supposed to be steamed with the mixtures of seafood and curry. Unfortunately, it was cooked with a lot of imitation crab sticks... Imitation crab sticks are NOT gluten free! It contains wheat flour!!! I was not able to touch at all... I think Thai Basil's food is quite good. I visit the location in Livonia all the time. This location is newer. Reading some other recent reviews I do believe that the spice is not consistent here at this Novi location but it is off no more than one level from what was ordered (always to the hot side). I like spicy foods so no big deal. I recommend the Curries and the Pad Cashew, both are delicious. read more
