This place has a lot of mixed reviews... but we always get the same thing, and the things we get, we love! And the service is always nice. We love the sesame chicken-- the drunken noodles-- and my favorite, the Panang Curry. I get Panang Curry at nearly every Thai restaurant I go to. One time last year I was in NYC, and my friend said, "we're going to my favorite Thai Restaurant." So of course, I ordered the Panang Curry... and it was such a disappointment to Thai Basil's Panang. I like the crispy vegetable egg rolls, too. To be fair, I've never dined in, and I don't frequently stray from the things I like. I have been ordering from here via UberEats for months up until recently. Unfortunately i don't have any pictures but the food started off amazing! I was ordering weekly as my Friday or Monday treat for myself but i had to stop because the quality changed. I was getting the Pad Thai Thai Hot combination meat (chicken, beef, and shrimp) but the last few times it was very sweet with very little meat. This is quite possibly the worst Thai food I've eaten. Visiting Denver for a few days and wanted some Thai. Ordered Mongolian beef, noodles and crab wontons. Nothing was good and i mean nothing. The noodles not good, wontons were like rubber, beef was OK. Bland, no flavor. I will say I think this has a lot to do with CO being a landlocked state? This place is like the Salvation Army of Thai food. I ONLY order here when I'm too poor for real Thai food. Nothing is ever as ordered. My Tom Kha I got medium heat and my 9 m old baby is sipping it. This is the worst Thai / Vietnamese food I've probably ever had! I got the rice soup and the chicken pho.... I don't know what they use for their meats but the chicken and the beef were very questionable. Very rubber like and not meat like at all. The rice noodles were not very good either. I read mixed yelp reviews before heading to this restaurant. I gathered info on the best and worst dishes. So, I sadly didn't order pad Thai, but I did order pangang curry from other's recommendations. It. Was. Wonderful. The spice level was mild-medium and it was just enough heat to give that slow burn between bites. Of course curry is always in huge portions so I ate it the next day and it was even better. 5/5 for this dish. Next, we had the orange chicken. I saw 0 reviews for it but we decided on something sweet to offset the spicy, savory curry. The chicken seemed of good quality and it was perfectly crispy. Every piece had a crunch coated in that sweet orange glaze. It was perfectly cooked and we were pleasantly surprised. The broccoli was perfectly cooked but a little cold when we got it, 4/5 for this dish. The service was prompt, drinks were filled immediately, and the waitress even turned the tv off behind me when I asked to turn it down some so we could not talk over it - which I thought was a kind gesture. The worst "Thai" food I've ever had in my life. 1. The drunken noodles bear almost no resemblance to actual drunken noodles -- the noodles themselves are thick and narrow like fettuccine. And the sauce lacks any hint of authentic palm sugar / tamarind flavor. 2. I ordered the dish "spicy" (one short of Thai hot) and there is not one fleck of spice detectable anywhere. It's sweet and that's it. 3. I requested utensils and napkins etc, and got one fork and no napkins. You'd think with 2 items you'd at least get 2 forks and 2 napkins. The food was actually very good! We ordered to go and the lady was extremely nice and very helpful. We tried the Chicken Pad Thai Chicken fried rice and the orange chicken. ALL of which were delicious. I got the medium spicy on my pad Thai if you like your food spicy I definitely would recommend to get its either Hot or Thai Hot because it wasn't spicy at all. They also give you a very generous amount of Chicken. Next time I will let the know to also go easy on the egg. The orange chicken was delicious and so was the fried rice. The lunch portion of the sesame chicken was generous but not so much that you could save half for another meal. At checkout I had severe surprises. First was a free order of fried egg rolls. Good flavor, but the ratio of wrapper to filling is off. The second was a free order of crab wantons or edamame. We chose the edamame, which were lightly salted and not over steamed.
