    Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice
    Kyle J.

I was looking for a Thai restaurant near Rutgers Camden and this place popped up so the first time I ordered take out. It was okay, so I said I would come back and dine in because the restaurant looked nice when I went and picked up my food. Second visit. I went for dinner and parking was very difficult to find so I ended up parking across the street in the Wawa lot hoping my car didn't get towed. The place was pretty empty for dinner. You could tell they do a lot of takeout business. Waitress/Service was good, The food portions are small. The food itself is not flavorful. It's just enough not to be bland. Typical Thai restaurant spicy scale, Get one below what you really want. 1 is a 2, 3 is a 4, etc I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants and this place is below average when it comes to taste. Nice intimate restaurant but I review the food

Second time coming here. Plenty of savory menu options and food was brought out fairly quickly. First time we had some tofu dishes of thai noodles. Second visit we had Pad Thai and Massaman curry: both very savory. The side of rice with the curry was on the smaller side. This place has a quiet, serene atmosphere. There is street parking with some spaces on a time-limited lot on the side.

We got Thai Basil when we had a craving for Thai and Circles was closed. Unfortunately, we just didn't like Thai Basil as much; we found it less flavorful and watery.

I came during lunch and it was dead! Surprising cause it is in collingswood. I pushed forward and tried it anyways. Service was great, I was the only customer for the first half of my meal, then they got another family and that was it. Everything was clean and quick. Parking is street parking and super cheap for the meter, $1 for 2 hours. The venue itself is larger than it looks, clean bathrooms. Cute seating arrangements. Food: I got the lunch special which is you get to select soup/salad, appetizer, entree. Hard to beat this deal which again was surprising why I was the only one in the restaurant. I got the tom kha soup which was salty! Oh boy, SOO salty, but good amount of protein and peppers, etc. it was not as spicy as I wanted but they have to cater to the general public. The fried tofu was cooked well but the sweet sauce should've been a peanut sauce (my personal suggestion.) would've been more Thai and more appetizer friendly, the current sauce makes it overly sweet like a dessert. Finally the pad kee mau was solid, plenty of protein, cooked well for my liking in terms the noodle consistency. Good portion size. Again, the lunch deal can't be beat. Happy eating!

Good food and great service. Very accommodating and spacious location. Thought the portions were on the smaller side but I left satisfied.

The crab meat drunken noodles from the dinner specials of the day menu were the perfect level of spicy! There was enough noodles to split between two people and since we had an appetizer, we had some noodles leftover. The fried vegetable dumplings had a similar flavor to scallion pancakes which I loved! The outer layer was excellently crisped but there was a doughy layer just beneath. I suggest pairing this dinner with chrysanthemum tea for a bit of sweetness. My husband also liked the blend of sweet and bitter in the Thai iced coffee.

Ordered take out last night and I ate the whole thing! It was all so good I couldn't stop eating. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls and shrimp pad Thai. The spring rolls were so fresh and crispy and they gave me 6 jumbo shrimp in my pad Thai. Definitely recommend.

My mom and I came back to Thai Basil for a second time and loved it just as much as the first time. We were the first ones in, as we came just as they opened, but it filled up very quickly. The server remembered us instantly and even remembered what we ordered last time! My mom started with a soup that was filled with fresh ingredients. For our main courses my mom ordered the duck special and I got the Tropical Shrimp. Both were perfectly spiced and delicious! Their staff is limited, but all of them do an excellent job making sure every customer is attended to and treated with care. I know we will be back time and time again!

Came here this past Saturday with two friends around 6:30PM and there was no wait for dine-in. A lot of people were waiting for their take out orders. They practiced social distancing well-- the tables were spaced out. They have straws available if you do not feel comfortable drinking straight from the glass cup. We ordered the red Penang chicken curry, beef drunken noodles, and shrimp pad Thai. Best pad thai I've had in a while! It has a light sweetness to it. I normally don't like peanuts in my food, but it worked really well in their pad thai dish. The drunken noodles were delicious. If you have a low spice tolerance- I would not recommend this dish. I enjoyed the red penang curry as well. It is a thin soup consistency, but has a creamy flavor. My friends did not like that the curry sauce was thin because they prefer thicker style curries. I prefer thick curry as well, but the flavor of this curry was on point! Portions here are smaller compared to other restaurants I've eaten at, but it was the perfect amount for one meal. The three of us shared 3 entrees and we did not have left overs.

    Fried Tofu Peanut

Ordered thru Postmates and food arrived within 40 min, still hot and fresh with crisp veggies. They followed instructions for vegan entrees without fish sauce. Portions were a bit small for a $15 veg entree. Tofu app was good with the sauce. They added chili flakes on top to make it spicy. Overall flavor was OK.

House salad: Good ingredients but too expensive for the size
    Missy S.

I've ordered from here a couple of times, and the food is usually at least above average. I will say for sure that the Tom Kha soup is some of the best around, which is a large part of why I keep ordering. Today I got the soup and also the crunchy wontons which were good, but I also ordered the house salad which I've never had before. It cost $8 and I was disappointed at the size: half a takeout box and four pieces of tofu is not a lot of bang for your buck, especially when I've paid the same price at other restaurants and you get a huge salad.

Enoki and egg soup is my favorite appetizer. Light broth with umami and perfect saltiness. My second favorite appetizer is agedashi tofu. So silky like pudding with light teriyaki broth. Beef roll up with scallions: beef is tender with some kind of sweet teriyaki sauce. It's pretty good. Eggplant filled with ground chicken. It looks appealing but unfortunately a bit too greasy. The sushi here is very special. The sushi rice is silky and moist. The fish piece is bigger than the rice. The eel is a must try here. It's very big compared to the rice underneath it. It very flavorful too. Mt entree is steamed salmon with seafood broth. I recommend squirting the lemon to the broth to make it taste like yuzu sauce as it lightens the whole dish and makes it less fishy.

PRO: I will say, if you want a place where you can sit and have a conversation, dark mood lighting (especially forgiving if the last time you saw each other alot was 20 years ago! - LOL), Sagami is an excellent choice. PRO: They don't rush you out - take your time. It was a Thursday night, so not especially busy when we came at 6:30 PM. CON: I could not find an updated menu online - I'm one of those people who like to peruse a menu in advance. I started with a vegetable tempura appetizer ($10) - excellent, light, airy, tasty. My main was the dragon roll - very tasty. Service was quite nice. Appetizers came out almost immediately, the rolls took a lot longer to get to our table. This is the kind of place where you're not paying to fill up your belly - but if you do, expect to shell out some bucks.

I usually go for sushi which is very good, one of my favorites is the So Good Roll. This restaurant is located in Collingswood, right on Haddon Ave. where there a plenty of restaurants and shops so parking can be a pain sometimes. We got lucky and got a spot right out front. This recent trip was planned last minute and I used a Groupon deal (for 4 people). My kids got the Ramen (one plain & one spicy miso) and they loved it. My only complaint about the Ramen is that they charged me full price for the bowl of just broth and noodles - for a 7 year old. Anyway, it was their first time eating real ramen vs the cup of noodles we get for the house. My husband got the salmon and I got (2) rolls: OMG Roll & Kan Kasa Roll - again, we were not dissappointed. Everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant wasn't too crowded when we arrived but it seemed like there was only one waiter working. As busy as he was, he was nice and pleasant. Another favorite of mine can be found in the appetizer section: fried shrimp in creamy sauce (#11 on the menu I believe). The sauce has a kick to it, not too spicy in case you don't like spicy food. Collingswood restaurants are mostly BYOB. We didn't bring wine this last time since it was last minute but I have brought wine before. They'll open/serve it right away. I don't think there is a limit as to how many you can bring but I guess that depends on # of ppl in your party. Will I go again? Most definitely. My kids want to go back for more Ramen; maybe I'll try that next time instead of sushi.

My husband and I made a pitstop at the Cherry Hill Mall to use the restroom and on the way in we saw Kooma, with "martini bar" in the title. We were automatically intrigued. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a very pleasant staff. Since we did not want a full meal, we opted for a seat at the bar. My husband wanted to try a drink with peanut simple syrup, but unfortunately, the beverage was discontinued. Instead, he went with an Asian style old-fashioned. It was smoked using wood chips and was presented impeccably. Loved watching our bartender burn the chips on top of the drink to create the smoke in the glass. I selected a spicy, pineapple, passionfruit martini, which looked equally as beautiful as it was appetizing. For our snack, we selected the ceviche. Perhaps we didn't read the menu too closely, because this was a sweet ceviche with mango, instead of your traditional citrusy version we are used to. It was still very tasty, but the original style is my preference. Price wise, this place is a bit more on the expensive side, but you definitely feel the luxurious ambience in the atmosphere. Can't praise the bartenders/waiters enough enough. They were so attentive and sincerely friendly, which can be hard to find.
