My family and I always see this place but it never really caught our eyes because the front of it is so dark. BUT we decided to give it a try since we always walk past by it and we're always looking for a place we haven't been to for pho yet. 10/10 pho is definitely authentic and I love how they have all the condiments on the table which some places don't! This place is definitely a hidden gem! Would definitely love to come back and try other dishes...

This authentic Vietnamese kitchen in the Saigon Plaza on Rt. 38, Pennsauken, was one of the first southeast Asian restaurants in the area, and carries its excellent reputation to the present day. The somewhat aging dining room is filled mostly with Asian customers who know where the delicious cuisine is, and where to find the best prices which are several bucks less across the board than other VN newer comers around the Heavy Chill (Cherry Hill) region. They also do Thai and Chinese dishes to keep everyone happy. As I was in the mood for a load of hot spicy fat noodles, their Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with chicken and Wonton Soup made me a contented man. Plenty of shrimp in goldfish wonton and greens in the steaming bowl. Large chunks of boiled beef from the simmer pot also swimming in the hot tub for gnarly handiwork The Pad was a full plate with green and red pepper, onion, tomato, sprouts and tender grilled chicken. I added more chili crisp sauce to spread the heat to my liking. Home run once I started to sweat. Saigon Plaza is in need of a gentle makeover after its decades of success, but the work coming from Thai Son's kitchen is as good as it ever was.

This is the 11th Pho Spot we've tried in South Jersey. I like that the Pho broth was not sweet but it was a little bland. I love that they provided all the authentic condiments but they didn't offer fresh herbs like Thai basil or culantro. We ordered #38 - I think it was $14 We also ordered fresh pork and shrimp summer rolls. They were ok. Again, missing fresh herbs and cucumbers. The peanut dipping sauce was good. The best part of our meal was the Vietnamese iced coffee. It was delicious The ambiance is typical of any pho spots so don't expect out of this world decor or furniture. Although they should replace some chairs bc the one next to mines was disgusting. Service was fine. They were nice and attentive.

The food was good and pipping hot but a bit pricey compared to other Vietnamese restaurants

We stopped by here for lunch since it was next to a grocery store we went to. The servers here were really nice and provided recommendations. We ordered the special pho (Pho Dac Biet), beef stew with noodles (Hu Tieu Hoac Mi Bo Kho) and a broken rice plate (Com Tam Suon Dac Biet). The pho broth had a nice depth of flavor and a good amount of meat in it. The noodles were good too. The beef stew was good too, mix of tendon and beef and a good amount of egg noodles mixed in. The broken rice plate came with a pork chop, veggies, fried egg, meatloaf and Vietnamese pork ear rind. It was yummy as well. Overall, good Vietnamese food at this restaurant.

I've eaten here with my family quite a few times when visiting my god brother (he owns the Sun Seng Supermarket next door). I love Vietnamese food and this place is actually pretty good. It's very spacious with private dining rooms in the back (where we always sat). The service is excellent, friendly & attentive staff and food comes out quick. They have an extensive menu with plenty of traditional, authentic Vietnamese dishes, pho/ noodle/ rice options and beverages to choose from as well as some Thai dishes. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. I like their summer roll, beef chow fun, vermicelli with grilled pork & spring roll and Vietnamese iced coffee. My family always gets the bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup), pho dac biet (pho with 5 kinds of beef), grilled pork chop rice and the Vietnamese appetizers (rolls, sugarcane shrimp, wings). Everything is tasty and flavorful. Fyi: their English isn't that great, so I would tell them the number + name of the dish when ordering to avoid misunderstandings, which had happened to me a few times before. All in all, Thai Son is definitely worth trying out if you're in the area.

I ordered the pho tai here, and it was okay. Got the job done, but the broth was not particularly outstanding. The portion is reasonable, and the price is the new normal. The menu is extensive, and I was really excited to see ca kho (braised, caramelized catfish). It's sooooo rare to see this on menus!!!! Next time I come here, I'd love to try the ca kho with canh cua (obvious pairing). Also, I saw the latter dish has good reviews at this restaurant too. The restaurant had a good amount of occupied tables for a Friday night, half Vietnamese and the other half not. I am rating this place lower than I'd like because the table was sticky, and walking in, it smelled super bad. Like dirty water. I was actually pretty grossed out. But I really wanted pho lol.

FINALLY FOUND OUR GO TO PHO SPOT IN SOUTH JERSEY the broth here is *CHEFS KISS* we got the veggie spring rolls, summer rolls, filet mignon pho, pho chin pho, pork chop rice platter AND taro smoothie spring rolls were hot fresh and tasty summer rolls are a little on the warm side which is fine because it just means it's freshly made! better than the rice paper being stale my husband said the filet mignon pho is to die for and i get a lot of meat in my pho chin pho so i can't complain. pork chop platter is delicious and flavorful. and the taro smoothie is a perfect ending! service and food is 5/5

It's soup season baby! Are you even doing pho right if you aren't at some point sweating with at least 1 tear down your eye? Shout out to Thai Son for being my go-to pho spot. I love the addition of the spicy peppers carousel. I apologize for emptying the cannister of habaneros! Pictured is the #34 Pho Tai Chin, sliced eye round and brisket. Big ol' bowl of pho for $12.99 before tax and tip.

    58. Bun Rieu cua. Not that great. The "rieu" is mostly egg. Don't taste the crab. Kinda pricey $17

Update about Bún riêu. Don't waste your time. Not that good. The "rieu" is mostly egg. Not much meat or crab

This place hits the spot! The chili paste sauce must be home made. That stuff is so good. The broth here is rich and delicious. Noodle and meat portions were plentiful. Service was super quick and very good. We went straight for the pho and it did not disappoint. Great prices too. I heard it was cheaper before, but I'll take a meal for two at $31 any day. Highly recommend!

The crispy chicken feet was a huge hit. It had the perfect crisp and was spicy, salty, and sweet (personally, this is my holy trinity of flavors). I think this would be a great way to introduce chicken feet to people who haven't had it before. The beef salad was super refreshing, and I appreciated the copious amounts of beef and different vegetables, especially banana blossom. I've had chicken in this type of salad growing up but this tender beef is a game changer. Everything else was great but those were the highlights for me. The staff is very lovely and they made sure we were taken care of. The whole restaurant is modernized and clean. I highly recommend trying DVR whether you're looking for a classic Vietnamese meal or wanting to tap into the lounge experience.

By the time we finished our meal, we went back to the counter to pick up our takeout order, but it wasn't ready. We ended up waiting nearly an hour after our initial order for those items to come out. I'm not sure why it took so long considering it was only four items: a drink, a pre-made dessert, sizzling steak, and a patty. When we got home, we realized the patty was missing. Definitely double-check your order if you're getting takeout. We were bringing food back for a family member on a limited diet due to surgery, so the missing item was very disappointing.
