Simply amazing!! The wife and I were in the area and a bit hungry and Banh Mi Ngon was the first place we saw. We made a U-Turn and gave it a try. The building replaces what I believe used to be a Subway. Upon entering I was a bit stunned. The interior had an inviting small sit in area for dining in. The TV menus were vibrant with all the food options. Home made or locally sourced Vietnamese delicacies surrounded the register from drinks, snacks, and more. Very welcoming environment and decor. Being a new place and on the go, my wife and I shared the #2 which was the Bahn Mi Dac Biet and Vietnamese Iced Coffee for a total of $16.95 (this included my $1 tip). Bahn Mi Dac Biet ($8.95): The meats included were Grilled Pork, Pork Bologna, and Pork Roll. Once I opened the sandwich, I knew this was going to hit the spot. Visually it had all the semblance of an authentic Bahn Mi, the fresh slightly toasted French style baguette, liver pate, Vietnamese mayo, pickled radish and carrots, cilantro, and jalapeños. The slightly toasted sandwich was delicious. The tender flavorful pork in combination with the crunchy exterior bread and soft inside marriages well. Because of the richness of the pork and mayo, the pickled radish and carrot cuts through the fat and brightens the sandwich up. The jalapeños and cilantro brings in freshness. All in all it was wonderful. There were 14 different Bahn Mi options. To choose, I asked the cashier and the young lady recommended the #2 (what we got) and #5 (pork belly). She was super helpful and polite. After we ordered, a family unfamiliar with Vietnamese food came in and asked a bunch of questions. It was actually overwhelmingly the amount of questions (and demanding tone) but the cashier was patient, clear, and concise when answering. As a former waiter and now health care worker, I can recognize she is the type of person you want to represent your business. Give her a raise! We'll be back, not only because of the quality of food served here but because of the customer service as well Ca Phe Sua Da "Vietnamese Iced Coffee" ($6.95): we ordered a large. Let me preface by saying, I hate buying coffee out. I could go on a spiel about the cost of coffee out vs at home but I'll save you the bore. This coffee was elite. Vietnamese coffee is known for being on the stronger side and yes this was. Strong in the best way possible without being bitter. I believe the coffee is sweetened with condensed and/or evaporated milk. Regardless of milk, this coffee was worth the price because of its unique flavor. I've been eyeing this place, and the stormy weather called for takeout. We ordered the #1 banh mi ngon combination and #2 banh mi dac biet. I've been hankering for a banh mi, and that craving was finally satiated. The pork belly in the #1 was crispy and *chef's kiss.* The baguettes were a great texture: crackly on the outside and soft on the inside. A good amount of meat and veggies. If I had a con it would be that the jalapeños weren't spicy at all, but we were pre-warned about that. The service was fast, and the cashier was able to answer questions about allergens and the food choices. Very important. The music was a little loud in there, but I'm a little sensitive to sounds. We got the Goi Cuon Tom summer roll appetizer, the Bahn Mi Ngon Combination (grilled pork and pork belly) and the Bahn Mi That Bo Nuong (BBQ beef)). The total was $37.20. The summer roll and the bbq beef Bahn mi were both very good, and the pork Bahn mi was truly out of this world. Juicy and savory and tender but with crunchy bits of vegetables. I stopped by for a quick snack and this place is delicious!! I only had a shrimp summer roll and an iced Vietnamese coffee. The summer rolls came with 3 and were vibrant and light! They came with pickled carrot and daikon, some peanuts and a peanut dipping sauce. I wish the sauce was more peanuty and less soy sauce but it had great flavor! This place is a bit far from me in South Jersey, but we took the drive to try this little Vietnamese shop. I love trying new Vietnamese shops in the area. The main items on the menu were banh mi sandwiches and pho. I ordered both items and they were okay nothing that knocks my socks off but pretty decent. Broth in the pho was okay, it had some flavor. The banh mi tasted fresh with a nice crisp and flakes from the bread. All the regular fixings like carrots, cilantro, jalapenos peppers, and cucumbers. The shop also serves some desserts and Vietnamese drinks on the side as well. There are a few items they sell that they make in house located right in the front counter. It mostly a take out place but do have a few tables to eat at. They do open pretty early comparing to other places and I believe its 8am on most days. If you are in the area, give this a shot if you are craving some Vietnamese food. read more

We just finished grocery shopping at Hung-Vu Market, and on our way out we noticed this restaurant is open for business. We decided to try their Banh Mi sandwiches. Hidden gem tucked on the side street off main road. Love their banh mi dac biet! The baguette is perfectly toasted and the filling of meat and veggies are good. The shop also have soups of the day and today's special soup was pho and bun bo hue (spicy beef soup). The pho was pretty good, decent portion with lots of brisket meet. They also have Vietnamese appetizers and desserts like summer rolls, spring rolls, sticky rice, pork buns, che (Vietnamese sweets) and smoothies. It's not quite a restaurant but more of deli and of course if you ordered their soups and staying to eat, there's some tables for dining there. They do open early on most days - 8am which I'm impressed considering most Vietnamese banh mi shops opens later in the day around lunchtime. The service is friendly. Recently came across, Banh mi ngon, reminds me so much of ba le in south Philly. It always start with the service, you can tell it's a family run business, the people there were so welcoming pleasant, you can see they make everything in house, so authentic. Upon walking in, thought it was very cool they had one of those buffet serving style where you pick whatever you want and they'll serve it in a platter for you. You know I got myself a few platters, plus a side of their coffee. Also got to try their banh mi hoagies, definitely has a unique taste to it that's not the typical. Prices were okay a bit pricy, you def get what you paid for. I had the beef banh mi and my husband had the pork belly and pork something banh mi. I enjoyed mines and he loved his! We haven't had a goooood banh mi in awhile and this is prob our new spot for banh mi whenever we come around this area. Got an ice coffee too but it was too strong for me. Compared to the banh mi place before in this exact location, I will say that the banh mis here do taste different. We have tried them several times, and got the #1 (Banh Mi Ngon Combination/Grilled Pork & Crispy Pork Belly), #4 (Banh Mi Thit Heo Nuong/Grilled Pork), #5 (Banh Mi Heo Quay/Crispy Grilled Pork Belly), and #13 (Banh Mi Chay/Tofu) so far. According to the staff, the #5 is their best seller and I can definitely see why. I will say though, the last time I came I had ordered the #5 and when I came home and opened it, it was the #4. Having spent years of my youth in Saigon in the 70s, I am always excited by new Vietnamese restaurants and the opening of Bánh Mì Ngon was no exception. They open at 8:00 am on Sundays and I was there bright and early to check it out. The shop is bright and welcoming. And the food is fantastic. I ordered: The Bánh Mì Ngon Combination, Bánh Mì Dac Biet, Bánh Mì Thit Nguội Cha Lua and Bánh Mì Nem Nướng. Also some chả giò (fried spring rolls), gỏi cuốn (summer rolls), banh uot chả lụa (rice noodle with chả lụa), bún thịt nướng (rice vermicelli with grilled pork), dưa cải chua (pickled mustard greens), cơm cháy chà bông (crispy rice with shredded pork), 2 containers of bò kho (Vietnamese beef stew), 2 types of xôi đậu xanh (mung bean sticky rice), khô bó sa té (Spicy Vietnamese Beef Jerky), 2 half gallons of sữa đậu nành (Vietnames soy milk) and a cà phê sữa đá or Vietnamese iced coffee to go... The bánh mì were all fresh, delicious and perfectly dressed and nicely filled - delicious! I loved them all with my favorite being the Bánh Mì Dac Biet. Both noodle dishes were amazing and the chả giò were also perfect. Every single item was fresh, delicious and perfectly made - I loved it all and was so happy to have it for lunch - my whole family loved it as well. Big fan of Vietnamese Summer Rolls (those clear, rice paper rolls, typically stuffed with vermicelli, veggies, and sometimes pork or other savory items). I usually find them at the Market...and I was excited to have my first from a Vietnamese restaurant. Verdict? Very nicely prepared, great texture to bite into, and a pleasant eat ...but even with pork included, a little tasteless. Maybe that's to be expected, as rice paper and rice noodles are...rice...which doesn't have much taste. And they ARE a fairly low calorie, low sodium, greens filled item, so the healthy factor is definitely there, even if the impressive tastiness isn't. What DID leave an impression? The same item that was $11.95 here, was $7.95 across the street at Mama Ha's (inside the Hong Vuong Market). And every bit as good. I pronounce Banh Mi Ngon overpriced! We just had an amazing Vietnamese hot and cold coffee! Wow! It was absolutely delicious! We forgot how delicious Vietnamese coffee is!! We ordered a banh mi sandwich and Vietnamese bean pudding dessert and spring rolls to go. Dannie and the proprietors were so kind and inviting! It opened 3 months ago and is an incredible addition to the neighborhood! They have many Vietnamese food specialties to go including jerky, desserts, drinks, puddings, and more in addition to the amazing menu! The decor is modern and bright and lovely with outdoor seating. Bún riêu is actually good. The balls of meat and crab are very flavorful. Broth is a bit sweet, but once I add fermented krill paste it's perfect. The lettuce and purple cabbage isn't traditional, but it's too expensive to keep stock of water spinach, banana blossom, bean sprouts (for a small deli store). Been up for a few hours, was driving by, and thought who would judge me for eating a banh mi for breakfast? Oh just the internet when I put it out there.. I hit up Banhmingonnj (brace rd cherry hill) as they have been on my places to stop by for awhile. I came here under the previous ownership too. I got the Banh Mi Ngon Combination which is grilled pork and crispy pork belly and comes with pickled carrots daikon, sliced cucumber, cilantro, jalapenos, pate, mayonnaise and Banh Mi Ngon sauce. I asked for no mayo on mine and to add whatever they have to make it extra spicy. To make it extra spicy they added more jalapeno. I would had loved to see them add chili crisp oil or something along those lines but it's all good(added some of my own ). Really enjoyed the fresh crisp vegetables and herbs. The roll had a crunchy and flaky shell and chewy dough. The proteins were well seasoned and had good flavor. The mango smoothy was a nice compliment as it wasn't very sweet. It was a really good pallet cleanser after the salt and spicy from the banh mi. Menu is easy to read and looked like all the sandwiches are $7.25-$8.50. The food tastes great. But we don't eat pork, so we ordered one grilled chicken and one BBQ beef Banh mi. We had no idea that these would have pork pate on them. When my mom saw this and asked them what it is, they answered "pork pate." My mom said that we don't eat pork, and they didn't apologize or offer to make us new sandwiches. NEVER again. I wanted to give this establishment a chance after hearing such good things about it. In the mood for a banh mi, I stopped in. I ordered 2 sandwiches and a Vietnamese coffee. The counter worker prepared my coffee and shortly thereafter I heard him blowing his nose... and it was into the service sink right behind the register. He then takes the smoothie blender and places it in the SAME sink. What!!!!! Never washed his hands. No napkins. Didn't clean up his mess. I waited for the sandwiches knowing that I was throwing the coffee away. He stands and bends back over the sink, holds one nostril and unloads everything from his nose. A young lady was present washing the blender when I asked why he would do that in a food prep area! He said the 'weather is bad' and went in the back. Well. NO THANK YOU. The food was trash. All of it. I didn't even ask for a refund. How awful. It's bad enough that you don't really know what's happening behind the scenes anyway - but to see all of your mucous, phlegm, and nasal congestion being shot into a sink where you are making people's meals is another.
