Siding finished and refrigerant lines were left down
Rose B.

This is a mixed review since there is good and bad to mention. I contracted with this company to replace my siding and double decks. This wasn't the lowest priced bid, yet it also wasn't the outrageously high quotes I received from other companies. I was very excited to finally get this work done. At the same time I was working with TGR, I was also contracted with a roofing company, a painter, and a gate company. In the end, the only company I had problems with was TGR Construction Co. There are things I wasn't prepared for in this process, such as my pictures falling off the walls during the siding tear off or the cracks in the ceiling and walls created with the tear off, of which they tried to tell me all these NEW cracks (I live in this home) are due to normal settling of my home and said all houses settle with time and this is normal and not due to the siding job. I know it's not a coincidence these new and sudden 'settling' cracks appeared with the siding work. They broke through the ceiling upstairs and they did own up to this, maybe because it's hard to justify 'normal' settling with sudden stucco all over the floor. There were structural issues that arose during the project, at nobody's fault, that ended up costing me $11K more than my contract. Then I was also charged $4900 more to remove windows and have them reset. Btw, three other companies included the window removal and reset in their contract. It was considered standard for other companies. After the siding and decks were done, I was left with HVAC refrigerant lines on the ground and blocking doors and windows for my tenants, wires dangling under the deck staircase, the Radon remediation system wasn't reattached correctly and sparked scaring a HVAC technician and me, a deck rail was reset too low, refrigerant line covers were accidentally thrown out, and my daughter and I each did double sweeps for nails left behind when work was done. It took almost two months of asking for them to resolve these unresolved issues before some things were finally done. Jan 20th, three months after the crew left, I finally had the last unresolved issue handled. As a consumer, when I contract with a company, I expect to have the job done right without unnecessary stress. That did not happen here. On the POSITIVE, the crew is hardworking and really nice guys. The siding and double decks look great now. My home underwent a metamorphosis and is now beautiful and I receive compliments. I had crappy, rotting decks replaced with sturdy decks. This is the only reason I give a 2 rating instead of lower. All the mishaps, repair delays, and stood up appointments made this extremely frustrating and stressful. Could I have achieved my desired results without the frustration? I'm sure I could have with a different company. Buyer beware! Educate yourself on all steps that need to be in your contract. Make sure the removal of your windows for proper flashing is in the contract. I know A LOT of people and all my other contractors received more jobs through my recommendations. I know currently four people who are looking for a recommendation for siding, yet I can't recommend TGR Construction.

TGR was spectacular. Competitive prices and competency. The project was complicated and the weather did not cooperate but they pushed through on budget and a superior result. I recommend them highly. All of the team was professional, on time and worked every day.

TGR General Construction did an amazing job re-roofing our house. The result looks fabulous. Thanks, Tony and Brad for your help in getting the job done right.

They still haven't finished the job yet. It was far from perfect for many reasons, however in the end the so far did a good paint job, but many things could be improved upon with this company. I still never heard back from management in response to the letter I had written to the owners. So while the end results are looking good, we shouldn't have had the experience that we had to get there. I paid a lot of money here.

New roof, downspouts, and gutters

TGR did another great job for me! Last year we had them remodel our basement and this winter had them do a large patio project. All went great so when it was time to put a new roof on my three-story rental, they were the first one I called. I got three different bids and all were relatively similar in price, but since I know this is such a great company I went with them confidently. Because I am a realtor I often am asked for contractor referrals. I can confidently refer them to my clients and they are always my first call when I need a remodel or repair. They are good communicators, and my clients have also been impressed. Thanks again, TGR!

What even is this slinky P trap? There is no home inspector that would be ok with this but I got charged $200 for this mess.

Bargain basement work at department store prices. There are just so many things that went sideways. The flooring contractor decided to break into my house at 8 pm. Didn't ring the door bell or knock. Went around back and let himself in via a siding door that wasn't locked by the contractor. When I confronted him he said he thought there was no one home. He broke the glass in a picture and a lamp, stumbling around in the dark. They cut the gas line when installing the deck and tried to pass it off as a perk. Wait! What? They tried to tell me I saved money by them not charging me for a change order for redoing the gas line. They unplug my freezer and I found out after the smell hit. They helped themselves to the tools in my garage and when I asked them why they thought this was ok I was told that I had agreed that they could borrow my broom. Sorry, how is me saying you can borrow my broom equate to help yourself to everything in my house? To top of this total catastropy...one of the workers got handsy and kept hitting on me. The list goes on. Poor work and bogus change orders. I can not even stress how much you should find another contractor. These guys are literally the worst and I have delete with a lot of contracts in the past.

I had TGR build new front stairs for my house including a front door and porch cover. Their crew had a great attention for detail and worked out some tricky angles. They worked around existing landscaping and tied together all the elements.

Before and after photos of the re-roofing.

A couple weeks turned into over a month because life happens and I recently sent him an email asking him if he was still interested or what happened or if he had anything for me from our meeting I don't know what happened but communication went to nothing and I feel like I was ghosted after our first meeting, which sucks because I was really excited with all the ideas that he had given me for a remodel of my kitchen that is not incredibly user-friendly at the moment.

The master bath was about 60sq ft (excluding alcove shower) in a 1999 3-story condo, and the job scope included: demolish/remove original alcove tub, sinks, vanity, mirror, vinyl flooring, baseboards install new tub with 12x24" tile shower walls install new shower fixtures at taller height install 12x12" tile flooring install new plywood, solid-door vanity install new porcelain sinks and hardware install shower curtain rod install vanity backsplash tile install tile baseboards The half bath was about 25sq ft and the job scope included: install new toilet with appropriate flange install new stand-alone vanity install sink fixture Michael and Chevy did the work themselves and met every timeline. Michael was responsive and communicative, quickly notifying us of changes. He got the job done with high-quality standards and within a reasonable timeframe, despite delays and set backs. For example, in late Feb 2025 there was a significant snow/ice storm that delayed the project by 2 days. Michael showed up on the weekends to continue the job to try and make up time. He was consistent, reliable, and transparent. Another example: Our master bath floor was not level enough for the tile, and Michael was clear and open about what had to be done to get the job finished to a top-quality standard. It added a couple days to the timeframe (and some cost), but the final result was well worth it. Last example: The half bath toilet flange had several errors from the original build and contractor work, and the toilet we bought had a manufacturing defect (leak) we found after installing the toilet. Despite these obstacles and added time, Michael brought the flange to code, uninstalled the defective toilet, and installed the defect-free replacement. There were several curveballs with our job and Michael handled them professionally and courteously, making sure we were involved with every change decision along the way. We are thinking about hiring him for our second (guest) bath remodel, and wish him all the success a small business owner can have!

To make matters worse, he dumped the old post with old concrete and metal parts in my neighbors yard debris bin. That is so rude and is NOT yard debris. Removal was good, but all five posts were installed incorrectly: one was twisted and not aligned to our backyard, four were incorrectly spaced despite request for 8' apart. They are all 1" - 4" off, so we can't get our prebuilt panels in. Chad offered to fix the issue when we complained directly, but failed to show on the scheduled date (he didn't reach out, we had to, and got a "sorry, can we reschedule"). He failed to show on the rescheduled date and again asked for a reschedule. We are clearly not a priority and we cannot wait anymore and now have to fix it ourselves. Really disappointing, especially since we had a lower estimate with a different company but chose this company with the hope they could be retained on some other home projects in the future.

The project Wonderman completed for us was, at its core, a re-piping project for the 2nd floor of…read moreour home. Two years ago, we had a leak on the 1st floor that educated us about the fact that the pipes inside our walls were all PVC, a cheap option used in the 1990s that is doomed to fail. Our homeowner's insurance covered the three-month remediation when the leak occurred but did not cover replacement of the PVC plumbing - that cost was ours alone. We didn't have enough $$ to re-pipe the whole house then, and we didn't want to extend the time we were in a hotel with our 2 cats. So, we only re-piped the 1st floor during the original remediation. Now, two years later, it was time to re-pipe the 2nd floor. We intended to re-hire the same company that our insurance adjuster hired 2 years ago to finish the re-pipe project and to add a couple of upgrades while the bathroom walls were open. But, when we got the bid estimate from that company (a general contractor), the re-piping project cost was so high that not only was there no way to pay for any upgrades, but also the bid cut corners on the re-piping method to meet our budget. For example, it proposed that some of the new plumbing run along the ceiling on the inside of our home, not between the walls, so that there was less destruction and repair of walls to do, and so that a tub/shower surround did not have to be replaced by a new tub and tile surround. That estimate was so disappointing that we decided to seek other bids. After combing through dozens of reviews on Angie's List, and meeting with 3-4 possible options, we found what we wanted in Wonderman. Raoul came to bid the project, and my impression was that he is a strong combination of capable, no nonsense, knowledgeable and articulate. He offered to handle the project either way - as the construction subcontractor (and he would recommend a good plumber), or as the general contractor. He said it would cost more to act as the general contractor, because coordination takes time and time is money. But it was clear that we could save money if we bought any parts and hardware we wanted to have installed (other than the pex pipes that would be provided). His bid to complete the re-piping project as general contractor did not involve any corner-cutting and was substantially less than the other company's bid. So much so that additional upgrades were affordable, which he was willing and able to do. For the same price the other company was charging to do the job halfway, Wonderman would do the job 100% right and also complete upgrades that would let us SEE some improvement, not just have invisible improvements inbetween the walls. Raoul was willing to restrict work days to the days my husband does not work his graveyard shifts - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday -- so my husband could sleep days he had night shifts He and his workers and subcontractors were on time, clean and respectful. (One minor concern was that no one wore masks, but we never insisted on it, either.) The project lasted from July 14th through August 27th, with a total of 22 work days. Raoul, Gus, or the plumber or tile subcontractor (or a combination) were always reliably at our house between 7:30 - 8:30 AM. They took only a 1/2 hour lunch, always at noon. They typically left at 3pm, but on some days when they had to stay late to complete something so that the next thing could begin the next day, they stayed up until 6pm. They worked hard the whole time they were there. There were a few notable challenges that they met superbly. One was matching our hand-brocaded ceiling pattern when they repaired holes made to insert new pipes. Gus figured out how to match a pattern that even real estate appraisers in the past had said would be impossible to match. Another challenge was my request for a pass-through window in a partial wall in the master bathroom. When the drywall was torn off, it was apparent that the partial wall was filled with closely placed studs, pipes, and electrical wiring. It appeared impossible to fit a pass-through in that would allow for any standard sized glass shelves. Raoul figured it out, though, and made it very beautiful. While I can't say that communication was perfect, I can say that it was immensely better than the communication we've had with other contractors and subcontractors, both ourselves and on behalf of our parents. I got about 75 - 80% of my email and text questions answered, usually the same day. Raoul was always professional and friendly, and accommodated add-on requests for work up to the very end. We are beyond thrilled with the final results. See the before and after pictures. I recommend Wonderman whole-heartedly. If you are seeking an honest, reasonably priced, skilled person for anything from handyman work to general contracting, I don't think you can do better than Wonderman. We will absolutely hire him again for all of our future projects.

We were ghosted by one contractor and turned away by several others before we finally found Pluum Construction, and I'm so glad we did! As new homeowners, this was our first experience dealing with homeowners' insurance and we were overwhelmed to say the least. James was a phenomenal advocate in helping us understand the process and most importantly, working with our claims representative to ensure all of the repairs we needed were paid for. Altogether Pluum Construction ended up replacing half of our roof, our gutters, repairing and re-staining our deck, and installing new LVP floors throughout our home because our old floors couldn't be matched. All of the work was done beautifully! Now we feel like the tree falling was a blessing in disguise because it's like we got a surprise home renovation paid for by insurance. I really credit that to James putting in the time for repeated calls with our claims representative to explain what needed to be done to make us whole. James was extremely responsive and easy to reach through phone or text throughout the entire project. If I called him and he didn't answer, I would get a text right away letting me know he was on another call and would call me right back. His team was very friendly and we felt comfortable having them in our home. It's really obvious how much pride Pluum Construction takes in their work, and how much they care about their clients.
