Today, 28 June, I called. The item has not left Phoenix and now is scheduled to arrive 9 July and I expect it to get worse. Probably will get it sometime in Aug. This is how you ruin a business. This should be a 0 star company... I ordered a grill from Rec Tec on July 2, after calling them to make sure I would receive the grill before July 19. they said no problem. That was before UPS got involved. So Rec Tec ships via UPS Freight right away. Here is where my heartache begins... I get a call on Tuesday July 10 from UPS San Leandro, setting an appointment for July 11. No show on July 11. I call and find out the shipment has not even arrived at UPS yet. No apology. I see on July 12 the shipment has arrived at UPS, so I call to set a delivery for July 13. The dispatcher says 4-6pm. At 6pm on July 13 I call UPS to see about delivery, the dispatcher John can't find it, confirms it did not go out for delivery and doesn't know when it will be delivered. Promises to call me back. Big surprise - no call back on July 13. so who cares? Not UPS!!! If a vendor you do business with ships via UPS LTL Transportation, DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!! What a horrible experience we had with this company. How proud they must be to see they have a one star rating, yet nothing changes and it never will. I will never buy from a business that uses this company to transport their items. First off, we got a call that told us when our freight delivery was coming and was told if there was a problem, to call them. The lady's name was Gail, but when I called the voice message was Mindy. The message said email might be better. So, I left a voice mail and I emailed her. No reply to either. The message left by Gail broke up, so I didn't get a clear idea of when to expect my delivery. We finally figured out it was the 2nd of April and rearranged our schedules around that, as we needed to be home to sign off on the delivery. The morning of the delivery, they leave another message saying they had to reschedule it for the following Tuesday. I missed the call again and tried calling back, but of course I knew no one would reply. I left them a seething message and hung up. We rearranged our lives around them coming Friday and had another appointment on Tuesday. We wanted to switch our delivery date, but couldn't because no one calls back. I doubt they even listen to messages! There is absolutely no way to talk to anyone if you miss the phone call. So, the day comes for the delivery and thankfully it arrives before our appointment, no thanks to them. It was purely by accident. We live in a rural area, so there is no curb, just a narrow two way road. The driver is anything but friendly and leaves the pallet of materials in the road. Our driveway was inches away, but no, he was not allowed to put it on private property. Knowing the mail would soon come and the materials would be in the way of that and cars, we had to unload the entire thing and put it up into the driveway. A kind neighbor and friend was there and helped us. I have to say that any other company who has delivered to our home has been kind enough to at least put things in the driveway and he drivers have always been friendly and accommodating. UPS Farmingdale location need some help. The supervisors are insensitive and clueless. I was told I must be at my location between 10:00 and 6:00 on 3/16 to receive an oversized package. I waited all day and called several times throughout the day to confirm delivery. I was told the package would be here by 6:00. Tracking all day showed the package was at the Farmingdale Facility since 3/12. Every time I checked tracking throughout the day, it showed that it didn't leave the facility. I then kept calling and was continually assured I would receive it by 6:00. I was told on one occasion that someone would call me back within an hour for an update. When no one called, at about 3:00 I called again and learned the driver forgot to put the package on the truck. You can imagine my frustration since I missed a days work and had to leave the State for a few weeks. As I was voicing my frustration to a supervisor at the Farmingdale facility, she hung up on me before I could reschedule, by making believe she was transferring me to her supervisor. I understand mistakes are made, but I tried calling since the early morning hours and if I was told then that the driver forgot to put it on the truck, I wouldn't have wasted my day. I would think that UPS would have a better system to update its tracking system to reflect problems like this when it arises, rather than give the customer false hope that the package is still scheduled to arrive by 6:00 pm. I miss a day of work, wait in the house for 4 hours to find out at the end of the delivery window that they will not be coming. Then make a 2nd appointment - and same thing all over again. This is about shipment they were suppose to deliver. UPS Freight calls on Monday and says: Your shipment is here, lets schedule an appointment for Friday. I'm like: "Sounds great 1-5pm on Friday, just call me an hour before"; they say "ok!" Friday, 4:30pm rolls around, no calls. I try to call UPS, nobody's there to pick-up the phone or talk to. I drive to drop-off location... nothing, no UPS Freight in-sight. So they missed a delivery window they set themselves. Monday goes by, no calls. Tuesday goes by no delivery, no calls. Tuesday night I call and leave a VM for the lady who originally scheduled the appointment. Following morning, no response. In the afternoon I get a call from the drop-off facility "your package was delivered, you better come here in the next hour or else.." Wow, UPS, this is a major fuck up. Did Not follow directions, did not keep the appointment that they scheduled and did not communicate to see if it's ok to deliver. Inconsistent messaging on the phone - one person says it will be delivered by X day, the other says it has to be scheduled within a certain window, other says I cannot pick it up from the warehouse, yet another representative says I CAN pick it up form the warehouse. First time to use them and they lost our crate. They didn't even notify us that the package was not delivered, the customer had to notify us. This was a custom made item and we are a small owned company. They say to file a loss cargo claim but I know they will not reimburse us for it what it cost us $1,000. What has happened to good, quality companies that take pride in what they do? I am ashamed of UPS! Their service, quality, customer service is not what it is use to be. Words cannot express how many bad things I need to say about these assholes. Ordered a custom king size bed, and got it in pieces. Not damages, IN PIECES! Not only did they break it, they tried to wrap up it again and cover their tracks. They then refused to deliver it so I couldn't see the extent of the damage. When I finally got it, I could not believe the extent fo the damage. I filed a claim, and they sent an inspector, who confirmed the item was unusable. Delevery at a snale's pace; nothing but excuses. To date, UPS Freight has had my shipment for nearly 2 weeks. For the past week, its been sitting in Columbus, OH - hasn't moved an inch in that time. And they refuse - REFUSE - to provide any sort of delivery estimate. Each time I've called to find out what's going on, I'm told someone from the terminal will call by the end of the day to update me. That's never happened. It just something they say to get you off the phone. The last time I called, I was told, "the more I complained, the longer it'll take"! Now that was clearly an outright threat to stop bothering them. And I've complained enough now that I fully expect to find my shipment - if/when it finally does show up - damaged in some way. read more

I avoid UPS at all costs. Not worth the time, effort, money, or sanity to use them. More often than not, our packages and shipments arrive extremely late (by days and often weeks) or damaged. I don't know how many they have lost. They lie ALL THE TIME about pick ups and deliveries - going as far as saying a customer refused the shipment saying "they didn't want it", when the customer is emailing me not stop asking where their shipment is. Can I give it less then one star? I ordered a $2,000.00 Custom PVC Tegu Enclosure, it took Months to build and it was beautiful ! The builder sent it UPS Freight , when it showed up we booked a 2pm appt to pick it up, they said they couldn't find it, they wanted us to go home and wait for them to call, no, I took the day off work to get this thing home, I moved my entire house out onto the deck to be able to get it in and where it was made to go, finally about 10pm they said they found it and showed us a picture, just one, and in the background it was daylight, daylight in Sept. at 10pm... right. They just didn't want to tell us they destroyed it to our face. Judge for yourself, 3 after pics and 3 before pictures attached. TForce freight delivered a set of patio furniture that I ordered from Costco.com. They were scheduled to deliver it between 3 and 6 pm, but it was in our driveway when we got home at 2 pm. My wife and I, both over 60, had to deal with very heavy boxes, stacked on top of each other, on top of a couch-sized wooden pallet. We had to unpack and move the heavy furniture to our backyard, and now we have a lot of large cardboard boxes, packing material, and a very large wooden pallet, still in our driveway. When I called TForce to complain, they said that's the way they do it, and we had to deal with all the garbage. I've complained to Costco about this, and I hope they'll switch to a different delivery company. read more

All I get are empty promises, emails that don't mean a thing and their people don't even know what they are. Managers/Supervisors just moving the call from one to another and never resolving anything. Departments that close at 2:30 in the afternoon and no help to try to fix problems, just pass the buck back to the shipper who is just as frustrated! Short story: I've now taken two half-days off from work to await deliveries that were scheduled but never showed up. On the rare occasions when they answer the phone they are spectacularly indifferent. No one has information or cares, and certainly doesn't apologize about the inconvenience or cost. This applies to both the San Leandro terminal and the San Jose location. Followup: still nothing delivered. Called to schedule the delivery a third time. Asked to speak to a supervisor. Put on hold. If you have to ship or receive an item via freight, and your service center will be the UPS freight depot in San Leandro, you may as well save time and drive to the destination yourself! Go ahead, rent a trailer, buy a heavy duty truck, drive, stop for a bathroom break every 4 miles, and drive to Maine...all of that will still be faster than trying to ship or pickup your item. Where do I start? The employees act as if they are stuck in molasses...on second thought, no, they act as if they are fossilized in quartz! It's one thing to move slow, but they also do not give a rat's a** about anything but gossiping with their coworkers while you wait. In addition, I think that an intelligent ground squirrel would give the employees here a run for their money in an aptitude test. This facility is nearly impossible to reach by phone; the lines are always busy and when you do get through to a ringing phone, it invariably goes to the black hole of voicemail. My most recent experience with UPS Freight (San Leandro) visit is rather typical. They missed 2x 4 hour delivery windows, both of which required me taking valuable time off of work. I then went down to the freight depot in person, and they took 3.5 hours to "find" my package. In the middle of them "finding" my package, I looked out the office window and saw the responsible individual BSing with other employees in the yard! Next time I order something online, I am going to call the vendor and ask them if they are shipping via UPS freight. If they are, I'm going to cancel my order and go with someone else! read more

DO NOT USE UPS FREIGHT I cannot believe UPS allows their name to be associated with the San Leandro terminal. The level of service, communication, professionalism are so low it's appalling. This appears to be the culture there because everyone you speak with (assuming you count get someone to answer the phone or call back) gives the same level of professionalism. It appears there is no manager there and no system in place. My experience was this: Received a call to schedule a drop off date and time. The freight was several thousand pounds so I have a crew waiting to receive on that date. UPS did not show up or call. I placed a call to San Leandro dispatch. They said they can't find my freight. Four days later I called again and another manager said they just did not have enough drivers. They reschedule. This time I called the morning of delivery and they start the same routine. Three different calls and different employees told me "we can't find the load". Only when the shipper's broker got involved they instantly miraculously found my load and hired another trucking company to deliver. That's right, they hired another trucking company to deliver my load! I wish I had read all of the other reviews before I agreed to this shipper. read more

Cheaters all the way. I booked a pick up om Feb/15/2019. It took several calls and few days for them to pick up. I also paid more than double of the competitor's cost to have a stated 5 day delivery but it was not delivered until March/1/2019. a whopping 14 days!!. Had a 66lbs package being delivered today, I live on the 3rd floor and wasn't home, my wife was but shes pregnant, I explained calmly the situation to the driver and he said he drops packages curbside, not on flight of stairs (3rd floor), well I paid over $348 just on shipping for this package to come, then I called my wife for him to call the driver, she called him and he told her the same and then decided to hang the phone on her, I tried calling back and he ignored my call. My best advice to you since I cant put his name out is to stay away and use maybe another company to ship items that need to be freight items. Lazy and the lack of care for costumers and rudeness is at the highest, this happened in Katy today to me. Horrible. I had a large water tank that was supposed to deliver and they never showed up. I had to call 3 days after the expected delivery date and they told me they didn't deliver because they didn't know where we were. I set up an appointment an they never showed up and no call. I called again and set up another appointment. They finally showed and the driver had no idea how to get the tank off of his truck (and it was well scratched up). A few weeks later I got a $50 bill for an appointment delivery. Oh and to top it off our address was plainly listed on the tank AND the shipping documents. Really bad experience. read more

We have had a less than impressive experience. Our shipment was scheduled to be delivered on the 12th, our tracking showed it in San Leandro on the 11th. We received no call to schedule a delivery. After calling ourselves and scheduling our delivery for the following day we had the same experience the next day. Our window was for 12-4pm when we called to check in we were told our delivery was not sent out and we would need to again reschedule. This now puts our delivery three days late, three days of rescheduling installation of our equipment. And three days of non-operation. They picked up 4 pallets from Texas to come to Sonoma with a liftgate to deliver to address (liftgate included in quote). Where to begin...we ordered 4 outside chairs from JC Penney that came from their Reno, NV warehouse. We were supposed to receive our freight by June 10. Friday June 15th, 2018 was our scheduled date with a 2-6 pm window. The driver arrived named Greg Tinsell (fake name, not sure why he lied). I am a 100% disabled Veteran. He did not know that, but could have guessed something. Their trucks are about 75 feet long and as I yelled to the driver about 80 feet from me to not drop the box on that curb, I'm disab led and wont be able to jockey it with or without my other half's help. He thought I was angry and told me to stop yelling or he would leave. I went down, slowly walking. By the time I got to him, he was angry, put out his chest to me with his fists clenched and told me he was leaving, closed the trailer door and left. I called in 15 times to the number to dispatch, 408-400-0751 and after 90 minutes of hold and run around, I was told I would get my delivery Monday June 18th. On Monday, I called to verify the time and a rude and hostile dispatcher told me to not yell at their drivers and since my delivery was not given a time schedule, it would be delivered on Tuesday June 19th. I was given the small package UPS number 800-pickups to complain. After speaking with the Philippine and China call centers, I was given a USA supervisor. That supervisor told me after I was on all the calls for over 2 hours that I had the wrong number. I was supposed to be speaking to UPS freight at 800-333-7400. After I explained everything for the 6th time, I was told a message would be sent to the freight center manager James Marquez. When he called me from 831-751-0486, he told me he called because I was supposed to apologize to him. I told him the whole story about how I was "f$%^ed (one word only) over and he told me that if I didn't stop swearing that he would end the call. He never addressed the issue, he defended his bully driver and told me if I was present when my delivery was made that his drivers would refuse to deliver since I frightened his 6 foot, 275 pound 30+ driver who delivers from a bad neighborhood to the most dangerous parts of San Jose (last part my words to describe him). He refused to take my complaint. My take from this: UPS Freight is operated by street thugs and if you don't do exactly what say, they will hold your freight hostage, play games with you about just when they will get around to delivering and if you don't watch out, disabled or not, they may just assault you. Thank GOD the good ole days of thugs and gangsters running freight are still alive! read more

Based on my 10+ years of shipping, I find this the worst freight terminal bar none. I made over 50 calls spanning 3 days only to get voicemail.over & over. Even the centralized UPS customer service couldn't reach the San Leandro Terminal. The majority of 3 business days was wasted trying to reach a live body. I was forced to contact the central office and it took them over 30 mins to connect. Even the UPS CSR was frustrated and without explanation. The hours are restrictive & inconvenient, they won't answer calls and all other call options route you back to the same unresponsive extension , day after day. This is not my first bad experience here. UPS service operations has greatly declined from a few years ago. They are not a reliable partner. If your small business depends on access and reliability, go anywhere else. Every other LTL shipper does a better job, has better service, better hours, and knows how to handle freight. Don't bother. My Christmas gift from my wife was shipped UPS Freight. We had to schedule an appointment for delivery to our home. They gave us a delivery window from 11am to 5pm. We waited all day for this delivery. No one ever showed, and no one ever called us. We attempted to call them several times, but there was no answer. We finally were able to contact them three days later. I asked why we were not contacted and she replied "we don't know if it go out till next day". What? Where did you go to school? Now we are scheduled again for tomorrow and I once again need to stay home from 11-5. If Philadelphia wasn't so dangerous/disgusting, I would just drive there myself to pick it up. read more
