It was our first time at the WINO FEST (Houston) after wanting to try them for years and we're so glad we decided to go. We absolutely loved had a great time and recommended! The host Vernon was very helpful, positive, personable, and informative. Two of the vineyard representatives weren't completely welcoming nicely putting it but overall a great experience!

Went to Texas Winos in Houston. What a fun event! Not only they have wine vendors, but they have food/snack vendors too! I was expecting more vendors at the event, but not too bothered since my feet hurt towards the end of the event. My favorite wine/vendor was the Esperanza. They had this cocktail mixer that was memorable. The dragon fruit cosmo. I tried to buy a bottle, but it's not available yet. The event had a live band that played music, it could be hard to hear your party and vendors when they try to explain their history or what they are serving. Overall great time and would come back to a wino event.

Great selection and variety of wineries were present to sample. All the companies were delighted to share information about the winery they represented and to have us try several or sometimes all the styles they featured for the event. It was nice that it was a small intimate group which allowed for a more personable experience.

Ahem.... I would like to give a toast. A toast to meeting great people selling local wines and bringing good times to an area near you. I have to say this was the very 1st event from Winos that I attended and the location I visited was at the beautiful property at the Cypress Alamo in the Cypress area near Houston for which I didn't know even existed and it's close to my neighborhood. It was on an amazing fall day and the coordination of the event was spectacular as Texas Winos emailed communications regularly with sign-in times for which you could modify to fit your schedule. I was assigned a later time but moved it to earlier in the morning. Understand that once you are there you can stay as long as you want but they try to control check in times to help reduce crowds all at one time. It worked out very well as there were zero lines on entry and plenty of space and winery's to keep everyone spread out pretty well. Most was inside and some where also outside. There was many wine vendors as well as food and sangria vendors. It was a great tipsy time with no over drinking and places to sit and mingle outside as well. They even supply rinsing areas to refreshen your glass as you go from vendor to vendor. I do have to give them 4 of 5 stars on the event however because for them to have only local wineries, the cost of every single wine bottle started at $40 to $110 a bottle. The average cost of wines in the US sits anywhere from $7 to $20. When wines go over that we are talking some higher end wines from some more known wineries. You would think at a wine tasting they have more varieties of wines that are more affordable as a local winery. I spent over $200 on just a few bottles just to support local. Some of the best wines cost much less than what you can find here. Unfortunately I did not find a wow factor in the tasting to justify the cost of even their lowest wine at $40 a bottle. But for the event and the hosting and the amazing ability to meet and greet new people it's certainly a 4 star event for the admission. Cheers and Prosper!

What a great event! I will admit i was leery because it sounded to good to be true! (Wine glass, 40 samples, no huge crowds ) It did not disappoint! I loved meeting all the small business owners and sampling all the varieties of wine and wine infused goodies There was even chocolate and coffee infused treats to be sampled . Of course we got some things to take home as well. I DEF will be doing this again.. Loved the small crowds and the ease of check in!! Add it to the LOVE LIST

I booked a wine tour for my birthday last year with about 30 friends, and we had an absolute blast! This was actually my second time doing one of their tours, which included three winery stops and a delicious lunch. The wine selections were fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the relaxing bus ride made for a perfect escape from Houston. Our driver was professional, and the whole experience was well-organized and fun--everyone was there for good vibes and great wine. I've also attended a few of the wine festivals they've hosted, and they always feature a great variety of Texas wineries. The pricing is very reasonable for everything you get, whether you're doing a winery bus tour or attending one of their festivals at different locations. Highly recommend for wine lovers or anyone just looking for a fun and memorable outing!

In previous vacations we took bus tours to get a little bit more familiar with the city and that is what we did with Austin. Only this time we rode a Double Decker bus! I have seen this kind of bus tour here and there and have seen it when I am in Seattle. Officially I think after this particular bus tour it was my first time riding a Double Decker bus. The weather was typical spring weather on our entire visit but the day we chose to take this tour it was nice and warm and a perfect time to go ride this bus followed by rain for a few days (This took place in April). The ride was so much fun and the tour guide was great! Austin is definitely a different cut than the rest of Texas and that was reflected in many of the people we met. Open mindedness being one and we really felt that with the tour guide. He was so knowledgeable of the city and the neighborhoods and all that made this bus tour all the more amazing. But of course they would probably have staff with personalities that would be compatible in this way. Riding on the top of the bus was so much fun. A few times we had to duck from tree branches and I lowered my head a few times from the traffic lights but that was just me getting nervous with being that high to a light. You see all the sights, famous buildings, museums, local culture, restaurant recommendations and so much more while on this tour. So this was a great experience! I was in Austin proper once a very long time ago and saw just how much it's grown. So it was cool getting acquainted with the city one more time thanks to this bus tour!

At first, I sat on the upper level. It was wonderful to be out in the fresh air. However, the sun was a little too much for me so I had to move down to the inside area. I was the only one down there which was fine, but it was really quite filthy. There was thick gray dust on the top rail of all the seats and the fabric on the seats themselves was all thick with black grease. The tour guide was really wonderful. Entertaining and knowledgeable with one exception that was actually kind of disturbing to me personally. When we got to South Congress he talked about the "I love you so much" wall. His story of a husband painting it for his wife could not have been more wrong. It was in fact done by an artist named Amy for her then girlfriend Liz an infamous Austin hotelier and restauranteur. It is an incredibly iconic part of Austin history and if it's told it should be not fiction. I hope for sure this can be corrected for future tours.

It's also a good opportunity to walk and stretch your legs instead of waiting on the boat but leave something in your chairs to save your seat. They let you bring snacks and drinks and they also sell cold beverages. The first part of the tour involves cruising around the lake with the tour guide cracking jokes and giving some history about the structures nearby and bat facts before heading to congress bridge to wait for the bats to fly out. Seeing THOUSANDS of bats was definitely the highlight of the tour. They also used a bat safe red light, which allowed us to see them better in the dark. It wasn't a perfect experience, but the fair price, knowledgeable tour guides, and seeing the bats made it worthwhile. Definitely a good option for something to do if you're looking for something to entertain the kids or friends /family visiting from out of town.

We really were looking forward to this, and specifically came to Austin for tubing (versus the other idea for a trip we had which was the beach. In hindsight, we should've flown to California instead. No one would be able to forget us that way.) Other companies had their groups successfully picked up and whisked away by their tour vans. (austin detours was one). We flew here and bought a 12 pack for 2 of us and ended up lugging around cans of beer through downtown Austin for no reason. If our trip was a little bit longer this might be less disappointing. However, I couldn't recommend this company. Unless you wanted to wait an hour for zero reason at all.
