Exceptional Vision Care & Compassionate Expertise - Why I Trust Dr. Gulrez Khoja in Plano, TX…read moreI've been a loyal patient here for nearly five years, and every single visit reminds me why I'll never trust anyone else with my vision health. From the moment you step into the office, you're greeted like family by a team that's warm, professional, and genuinely invested in your well-being. The environment is modern and welcoming, but it's the human connection that makes this place extraordinary. Unlike many healthcare providers today, Dr. Khoja takes the time to truly listen. She doesn't just glance over charts--she dives deep into understanding your unique concerns. Because of my family history of eye disease, she's carefully monitored my vision for the last 2.5 years, keeping detailed progress reports and scheduling regular exams every six months. That kind of proactive, personalized care is something you rarely find anymore! Recently, I faced an entirely new health challenge: I'm preparing to start chemotherapy. While my medical team has been focused on the obvious concerns, it was Dr. Khoja who brought up a critical point that no one else had--how chemo can affect my vision. Thanks to her foresight, we established a baseline eye health assessment before my treatments even begin. This way, we'll know exactly how my vision is impacted and have options ready if corrective action is needed later. Who else thinks of that level of care? It's rare to find a doctor who combines world-class expertise with such a deep level of compassion. Dr. Khoja is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, an expert in managing complex conditions like keratoconus, surgical complications, and specialized contact lens fittings. She also cares for children's vision needs and provides advanced treatments like Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). Beyond her impressive credentials, she makes every patient feel seen, heard, and cared for. That's the kind of doctor everyone deserves but so few actually find. If you're in Plano, TX or nearby, do yourself a favor--make an appointment with Dr. Khoja. Whether you need routine vision care, help managing complex conditions, or simply want a provider who will advocate for your overall health, you won't find a more compassionate and capable expert. (Photo with Dr. Khoja attached because some moments in life deserve to be remembered!) Gratefully, Mark D.

I booked an appointment here based on the other 5 star reviews and well, you won't be surprised…read morethat mine is also a 5 star review. When you first walk in, the reception area and frames section are very bright and clean. I love the exposed wooden beams. Everything, including exam room was clean and inviting. It may seem silly but they have an air purifier that was humming and felt like a calming, white noise while you wait for the Dr. I arrived 15 minutes early just in case I needed to do anything extra with checking in since it was my first visit. I had completed the new patient paperwork online ahead of time but gave myself that extra time just in case. Turns out, I didn't need it but no problem. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly while checking me in. My appt was set for 11:30 and at exactly 11:30, Chloe - Optician called me for the initial exams. She was very thorough and detailed every step and what she would be looking for. We had a friendly conversation and then she placed me in a room at about 11:50. I'm giving time stamps to help manage your expectations but of course, every patient may take less or more time depending on your needs and questions. Dr. Kirscht arrived at 12:07 for her part of the exam. She is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and never made the visit feel rushed. She explained things I had never been told before and truly help my understanding of my vision, eye health, and needs going forward. Once finished there, the receptionist (I apologize I didn't catch her name), escorted me back to the front where she introduced James -Optician to help me select frames and discuss options. James was very kind and friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It's hard to pick out frames when you can't see yourself so I trusted his judgment. He gave great feedback and I found a pair pretty quickly that I loved. I was also able to purchase for $40 a pair of magnetic sunglasses frames for my glasses! I loved that this option was available. He also took time to explain what insurance covered and any out of pocket expenses. A bonus was I am able to pay 50% up front and remainder of balance when I pick up my frames which is a wonderful option for those needing it or just wanting to. I walked out by 12:50! So a little over an hour for everything and that included discussion of a Retina specialist. (Yes, I'm being referred if you read this pray for me ugh!) I've visited two other places in Allen for eye exams. None have been horrible or bad experiences but; I loved the vibe here, the welcoming staff, the clean environment, and the wealth of knowledge they all have in their field of expertise. Out of the 3 - this is by far my favorite. James was not pushy with up-selling nor try to talk me into grandiose frames that cost the most. It felt genuine and honest. I appreciate that. It's easy to see why they continue to receive 5 stars. If you're looking for a vision home - Delta Eye Care is calling!

Dr. Zak is very personable, relatable, and explains everything very well. I highly recommend paying for the optomap (I think it's called that--where they don't dilate your eyes). They keep your files on record and you can easily compare year over year to look for changes. They're great about making sure the contacts and prescription are good fits and on my last visit the doctor scheduled me a week after my appointment to follow up on my prescription change. He heard my concerns and offered suggested causes and solutions. For the kids, I've had varied reviews for the techs that does the testing at the beginning of the appointment. They are often without kid-experience and can give vague instructions for the kids. My youngest is a wiggle wart so I have had to offer help. However, I will say that even though the testing and retesting and reretesting takes a long time, the techs never lose their patience or show frustration. You'll notice I still give a five star review because I still feel that we are welcome and are treated well. When I first went I read a review about someone who was so upset that their appointment turned into a medical visit and became expensive. I was nervous for my first visit, but I will say it was made very clear that a visit could become medical. That's a legal requirement for coding and to avoid fraud (if an eye appointment becomes medical it must be billed accordingly) not a sneaky medical practice. Overall, we're happy to make the drive (now 30 minutes) to continue to go to Rosemore.

If I was only rating Dr. Ly, my review would have 5 stars. I struggle with having people and objects close to my face, so going to the eye doctor is stressful for me. The first part of my appointment was with a technician who led me through the tests. Everything was fine until she was taking my eye pressure with a tool that blew little puffs of air into my eye. She measured each eye and then went back to my right eye and blew three rapid succession puffs into my eye. I pulled back and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked out of the room. I don't remember her name, if she even gave it to me, but I sincerely hope I don't ever have her as a technician again. I feel she was extremely unprofessional and uncaring.
