What stood out the most, though, was the owner, Larry, who took the time to personally visit our table. We learned so much about him--he's been with Texas Roadhouse for 16 years and has owned this location for the past 10. Hearing about his commitment to the community, including donations to North Plainfield High School and the challenges he overcame during COVID, was truly inspiring. The place has a Outback/Applebee's vibe to it. Since it was my first time, I ended up getting the combo, ribeye (12oz) and ribs and two sides ($32.99). My sides were the loaded baked potato (loaded $1.29) and chili. The chili was great, really hearty with lots of protein. I got my ribeye medium and it tasted really good and tender. Came here on a weekend for dinner and this place gets busy! We put ourselves on the online waitlist so we didn't have to wait that long when we got there. They started us out with some fresh baked bread which you can see them making in the front and of course their famous cinnamon butter which is amazing. We ordered the combo appetizer with boneless wings potato skins and mozzarella twists. The wings were crunchy and juicy and came with an awesomely chunky blue cheese dip. The potato skins had a great crisp to them and were covered with cheese. Lastly the mozzarella twists were your standard mozzarella sticks with a twist . For mains we ordered the ribeye steak and ribs. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was well seasoned. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and came with a dark, sweet bbq sauce. You get to pick two sides foot each entree. My faves were the baked sweet potato and probably the rice but it was a little salty. Overall, this might be one of my favorite chain restaurants. Staff: The staff member was friendly and greeted us with a warm welcome and smile. The staff was helpful with the menu and took the time to recommend drinks to us. Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and there was no garbage on the floor and there were no dirty tables. Prices: The prices are decent since it is a steak restaurant. The prices can range around $14.49 to $31.49 depending on what steak or food item you choose. Cactus Bloom: This appetizer was crispy on the outside giving it a crunch taste. The inside was soft for the fried onion. It was delicious with the horseradish sauce. This appetizer alone was $8.49 and the three of us shared it. Ribeye 12 oz: This steak was delicious and was juicy. The steak was not dry (well done) and was cooked to perfection of medium well. The mushrooms were cooked and had a delicious taste to it as well. I have no regrets ordering this steak. Ribs: The ribs were delicious especially with the sauce. The meat came right off the bone and was mouthwatering. Baked potato: The baked potato tasted like any other ordinary baked potato. I wish they had given us butter or something to eat with the potato. French Fries: I love French fries, and these were so good that I wanted more but my stomach told me no more food. Came here at opening for a bigger lunch. It opened a few minutes late, then took about ten extra minutes to be ready to seat customers. Those types of delays seemed to be a theme for the meal. I firmly believe that if the allure of fresh cinnamon-butter rolls wasn't a siren's song for the average American, this place would already be out of business. The breading is a bit lighter than most chicken tenders and they're always super crispy. The sirloin was cooked to a perfect medium and the mashed potatoes were creamy. I don't come here quite as often as I used to but we still stop by when I'm in the mood for some tasty fresh rolls and cinnamon butter and hubby doesn't feel like driving far for a steak. We dropped in on a Friday night after a thunderstorm just stopped and we didn't feel like going anywhere too far. I put us on the call ahead seating on their app so we had less then a five minute wait to be seated. Our server greeted up promptly and delivered us a basket of those fresh rolls I was waiting for and took our drink orders. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea but he returned w/ two waters and let me know they were making a new batch of tea. No biggie... Onto the food... I pretty much have my standard rotation I go through. So tonight I went with the Country fried chicken w/ cream gravy and for my sides a house salad w/ honey mustard dressing and loaded steak fries w/ Cajun Horseradish Sauce... My hubby normally gets some type of steak and tonight he got the 20oz Bone in Ribeye w/ mashed potatoes & Gravy, and a side of corn. I asked for the salad first and we shared it so by time I had that and 2 rolls I was pretty much full. The main course came out shortly after. The steak seamed smaller then usual and he actually finished the whole thing and he enjoyed it. I only had a few bites of my food and packed it up to go. We can make a whole dinner out of that chicken because it's huge! The fries were good too... they'll reheat nicely in the air fryer for an appetizer later... This review is based on my take out experience not my fine in experience. We've eaten here dozens snd dozens of times and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. After a good dinner tonight, I ordered 2 bowls of chili to go which translates to four small white cardboard cups. It comes with shredded cheese and chopped onions. I've ordered it dozens of times. I get home and the containers are barely half full and they charged me an extra $1.58 for the 2 pinches of cheese I got. Small potatoes but still. I called and the manager didn't even come to the phone. After holding for 15 minutes, a young girl came back on the line and said they could only offer me a coupon for a free appetizer. I'm not unreasonable but I expected, at the very least, to hear from the manager and to be offered replacement for the chili. It would have been cheaper than the free appetizer. To not even bother to get on the phone is what irks me and adds insult to injury. read more

This rapidly expanding chain concept is the dining equivalent of a 1974 Eldorado with steer horns bolted to the hood and a big bellied shit kicker behind the wheel with no particular destination in mind. Texas Roadhouse is a honky tonk steak joint long on attitude and just a little short on delivery. Service was crisp but the chili was thin and greasy with the 12 ounce New York Strip a little too sinewy and highly salted for my taste. Not a failure by any means, just average in every way. Did I mention salt? The companion baked potato was crusted with enough of the sodium chloride rub to cure rations for a long sea voyage... allowing me to make short work of three very tasty iced teas. Maybe it was an off night or more regrettably, business as usual. I'm a little salty right now but I'll be back if only to settle the argument. Three optimistic stars. read more

We went on a crowded Sunday evening where the loud noise took some getting used to. There were a lot of birthday celebrations that day. That was my first time there, and I really wished they spaced out their seating more especially when the back of the restaurant was completely closed off. I ordered the full rack of ribs with the loaded mashed potatoes. It was really good and for that reason, I would come back. My mother initially ordered the catfish and was told by our server that it was unavailable due to the rising costs associated with the pandemic and delivery. My mother came specifically for the catfish, so she was obviously disappointed. We both enjoyed the ribs though and look forward to returning. read more

I had never been to a Texas Roadhouse prior to this year but it's quickly become a family favorite. The staff at this location are incredibly friendly and are toddler has Such a good time every time we go. There really is something for everyone and the prices are pretty affordable given the current environment. We can have a really nice meal and not break the bank. The margaritas are pretty giant usually my husband and I can share one with dinner. I think one of the things they're known for here are their margaritas there's so many but I was really impressed with my stammon dinner play last time we went. It was only a couple dollars more to upgrade to the larger size and I was able to take home leftovers. We've probably been here 3 times now and we'll definitely be back. read more

I have eaten at Texas Roadhouse for years.. Good service good food and good prices. Until today. Our food was mediocre. Burned on the outside and not cooked as ordered. the side of baked potato and sweet potato were cold and hard. both returned. My sisters bone in rib eye was not 20 ounces and was raw. they took it back to be cooked some more and the outside was burnt to a crisp. i asked the server to get the manager. She came and offered us a $5 discount on a meal that was $100. I told her it was a $29 meal that was awful as she could see the steak on the plate. She kept on asking what she could did four us. Offered nothing but giving us another steak. i had asked if they had a dessert since it was my sister's birthday. they said i could order it off the menu and pay for it. i had many free birthday desserts over the years. Did not even offer one for the terrible food. What has happened to Mr favorite steakhouse. it was not busy. the server was apologetic. the manager never came back. When i mentioned on the way out what a disappointing dining experience, the lady just smiled at me and said nothing. i asked her if she had training on handling unhappy customers, she said no. We did visit during peak hours though, so that might have been factor and our waitress did show some attitude as they became more busy, but the Manager was very polite and apologized for the orders that were wrong. read more

We have been here many times. It's always crowded. Always hopping. We enjoy it. The salads are good always fresh and the rolls are delicious. When they are hot they are incredible. We always get steak, salad and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes are always good. Service is usually good. They work hard and always moving. Occasionally the steaks have issue but they fix it, a manager comes and apologizes and they usually comp the item. They really want you to be happy.. The prices are very reasonable. We enjoy this restaurant. It has a fun vibe as well. We know what we are getting. I've had the filet and the strip and the sirloin. They are all usually good if they are not over cooked.
