I've eaten at Texas Roadhouse in Manhattan, KS, and always enjoy the food when it's hot--steaks are usually cooked right, portions are generous, and tasty fresh rolls. The staff I've interacted with for curbside have been polite and apologetic when things run late. Unfortunately, the curbside to-go experience has been consistently frustrating. On multiple occasions, I've gotten the text notification that my order was ready, arrived within 5-10 minutes, checked in, and still waited 20-30 minutes in my parking spot for the food to be brought out. By the time I get home, everything is barely warm, which really takes away from what should be a good meal. It seems like the restaurant isn't set up well to handle curbside efficiently during busier times--whether it's staffing, coordination, or just prioritizing dine-in over to-go. Until the pickup process gets more reliable, I can't recommend ordering takeout here and choose another spot to-go in the future. read more

I'm not sure where it went wrong. But I went yesterday had their 12oz sirloin with ribs with a side of baked potato, Mac n cheese and a side of mushrooms. and now I have food poisoning. Five stars for our server Cris who made our meal very special. Yesterday it was graduation day in a college town, so I knew all restaurants would be packed. My smart spouse of 100 months (yes, yesterday we did celebrate that milestone) put ourselves on the waitlist before we arrived. When we got there last night, it was so packed that people were barely able to close the door to the restaurant when it was really cold outside. We waited all of two minutes before being seated! Cris came over like a ray of sunshine - we talked to her so easily that I worried her other tables she was helping might worry. She cracked up about our 100 month anniversary, made sure we got our drinks and hot rolls and butter, explained every possible allergen on the menu, and constantly checked on us. So we had the weirdest encounter ever here. After we ordered our food a girl brought out our salads (not our server) Girl: Two salads? Husband: Italian? (Dressing) Girl: I don't know, I don't eat salad Husband: you don't eat salad? Girl: I'm not a rabbit. Sets salads on table, walks away I was so shocked, I didn't have time to tell that girl off. Her job is to literally run salads to tables and she speaks to customers like that. LOL Anyways, besides that little twits fear of lettuce, our actually server was attentive, friendly and nice. The food was top notch, it was busy but it came out fast. It was Saturday night so they had prime rib, and that is what my husband had. We always hesitate to go to Tx Rdhs because it's always sooo crazy busy and sooo crazy LOUD!!! But the food is always good and if we go early enough we can beat the extreme noise of later in the evening! However, last Thursday was an exception! They should of had fly swatters on each table because we spent the entire meal fanning our food to keep the fly's off! Ugh!!! They make things to take care of those pesky buggers ya know!!! Then the food came! Steak was great topped with delicious mushrooms and onions! But that's where the yum ended! The potato had been "loaded" for quite some time and had cooled off leaving the cheese dry and not too appetizing atop a barely done potato. Mine needed another 15 minutes in the oven! The bowl of broccoli and carrot coins looked pretty until the first bite! The Broccoli was way over steamed and turned to mush and carrots were a little under done, pithy and unseasoned. Well then suddenly the noise level jumped about 50 decibels and the servers started clapping very loudly and dancing to the music! It was terribly loud, No extremely loud and we both wanted to leave ASAP!!! But still needed to finish our meal. We toughed it out thru the raucous and finally made it out unscathed. The one redeeming factor was the box full of rolls and butter the server sent home with us! I guess he was sorry for the deafening clapping! It'll be a while before we go again. If ever!!! read more

I'm rather disappointed in having to write this. We placed an app order all to get home to find that all 3 salads we ordered were missing, there was no straw for a drink we ordered, the steak I ordered was not smothered and could not even be eaten because it was so tough and impossible to chew. When I attempted to take a bite, it had zero flavor and hurt my jaw to try and chew. It was cooked over well and I requested medium well and was nowhere near. My husband's steak was cooked very inconsistently, one side almost well, the other side medium well, and he requested medium. I do understand that we had about a 15 min drive home and the steaks could have warmed up enough, so that isn't as big of a deal. If I pay $70 for a meal, there really is NO other choice but for it to at least be correct. I'm not sure who is working as to go employees that just couldn't ensure we had all of our items. Just wish we could have enjoyed this meal and it been correct. I can't say we will be going again. read more

Stopped in for the first time of which will be many since I will be working in town for a few months. Like always the steaks are amazing Service was next to none. The food was ok fine but the covid standards are unbelievable! We dined there Saturday evening 8-15-20 around 7:35/7:45 after an hour wait. The tables are spread out so the wait was expected and I appreciated that precaution. What was so bizarre was the fact that I saw signs stating Mask are required on the front entrance and one at the desk area where you go when called for your seat, yet two young women walk in with their group and they both weren't wearing mask. They hung out by the counter where the fresh bread baskets are located, talking and laughing around the bread that people are going to eat!! Ridiculous. I bring up my concerns with the manager when he makes his visits around the tables and stops at ours. He tells me while it does say mask required he can't actually say anything to anyone that chooses not to wear one. Are you f#%king kidding me?! Then two guys walk in and stand at the check in area, no mask, laughing, talking. All gathered around the area where the bread is located. Our waitress even said as she came to our table, "please make sure to wear your mask once you get up from the table". No social distancing, guests crammed in front area to check in for a table after being called saying table is now ready. Yet you have to wait for them to still sanitize their table. Why wouldn't they wait until the table is actually available before calling people to gather with other people that aren't in the same party? Mask aren't required, only recommended. There's a difference between those two terms but this restaurant apparently doesn't know this. I don't like wearing mask but I do because it's having common courtesy and protection. Don't be an asshole, wear a mask. Don't open your restaurant if you're too chicken $hit to speak up and enforce these precautions. I won't return here until this whole covid crisis gone. read more

Waited 1.25 hours after KSU game...worth the wait every! Minute. Best ribs I've ever had, smothered fries Appetizer the bomb! And any of the baked loaded potatoes killer! I've been here twice and had the prime rib. It is excellent. Some of the best prime rib I've ever had. The sides on the other hand I have not been pleased with. I got the mashed potatoes the first time and it was over loaded with so much gravy and ingredients that there was very little potatoes, maybe that's just the style. I can deal with that. So tonight I got the rice and it was just bad. There was so much seasoning and onion that if I wasn't looking at it I wouldn't have known there was rice in it. I like bold flavors but this rice was seasoned beyond what Indian food is, and I love Indian food but this was just too much I couldn't eat it. The bread and cinnamon butter for them is awesome. The service was great. They could use something on the ceiling to absorb some of the echo in there it can be a little difficult at times to hear each other when they are busy but I really do recommend this place. My parents have always loved their steaks and like I said the prime rib is epic. read more

We went to Texas Roadhouse last night for a couple's night out. The meal was absolutely terrible. My husband's ribs were burned and charred to a crisp. My baked sweet potato was extremely over-cooked and inexplicably full of grease! I literally lifted it up and poured oil on my plate from it! We had to ask repeatedly to have our drink order corrected and our water glasses refilled. The person at the front door holding his almighty iPad was extremely rude and abrupt. Not welcoming at all. The only nice person was our waitress, Jeanetta. She was very sweet and did her best to take our order over the blaring music. Not the pleasant experience we've had in the past. Will never go back. My husband and I went there for his birthday today. It was noisy to begin with but then a three table party was sat next to us. We couldn't even hear each other. The food was terrible, I even asked for my sandwich to be changed for a burger and even that was terrible. My husbands ribs were dry. The whole entire experience was awful to the point we didn't bother complaining and just got the check and left. The waitress was spread so thin everything took forever. read more

This experience was fine. My steak was really good but the fries I tasted were so so. The Cesar salad had too much dressing but the cactus flower rocked. The wait was pretty long and I am not sure why they don't do reservations. As a Texan, I feel a little stereotyped in places like this -- but the stereotypes are definitely accurate and plenty of places in Texas look like the inside of this chain. As soon as I walked in, the service was super odd. The lady at the counter asked my friend & I to sit at a table, & then some guy (likely the manager) came up & got mad because we weren't escorted & told me & my friend to go talk to the lady that told us to sit. Another server said that I couldn't sit without an escort & when I said I was told to sit, he simply ignored. Really odd situation. But it doesn't end there. Later that night when we got our food, my friend order a plain burger (to watch his caloric intake) & the server almost seemed appalled, questioning my friend about why he didn't order more food. My friend said he was just watching his diet & calories, but she continued to pry into his personal diet & why he wouldn't eat more. Like girl, you are there to serve food, not pry into mine or my friends personal life choices. The food was decent, 4/5 I'd say but the steak was a little tough. Overall, the rude service makes it not worth revisiting. I'd rather go to Applebees in Manhattan any day. read more

We pulled off the beaten path (I-70), 15" out of the way to Manhattan, Ks. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn and walked over to the Texas Roadhouse (always one of our favorites!) Well this Roadhouse was the BEST we've experienced! We sat at the bar, to watch the NCAA tourney, while we ate! Myah was our bartender/ server and she was delightful! But so was EVERYONE! We were greeted with genuine warm welcomes, beautiful smiles and request to serve or assist in any way. It was the friendliest restaurant we have encountered on our road trip from Florida. And when you've been in the car all day with your hubby, that friendliness is so appreciated! Thank you everyone in Manhattan, Ks. Now we're off to see the Wizard of Oz in Wamago, Ks! Very poor and disappointing customer service here. One of the servers brought our drink over and banged it on the table spilling the drink all over the table and my plate of food before walking away. The manager Aaron said he would talk to her without even knowing who it was who did it and was overall no help to us at all. He didnt stop by again to make sure everything was alright or anything. Texas Roadhouse is a surprisingly good steakhouse! Despite being a chain restaurant, the food is consistently good. The steak is tasty and they offer some really good appetizers and side dishes. Also, the cinnamon honey butter rolls they bring to the table while you wait are incredible. The service is great, but this location does get very busy on weekends. You will wait a while for a table if you go on a Saturday night, but if you only have two in your party, try your luck at the bar for quicker seating.
