Overall, pretty good Korean food. The owner is nice and a fun guy to talk to. Very friendly. Food comes out quickly and has good taste. You pay for bottle drinks so no free refills. I took my teenagers here and there was enough variety for all of us to enjoy good food and an overall good experience. It took us awhile to make it to Ogden and Sunny's because the hours and days open were confusing. The web site had said it was open six days a week, sometimes closed Saturday, sometimes closed Sunday, and from 11 AM to 8 PM. A few weeks ago we called just after 7 PM to learn it closed at 7 PM not 8 PM. We already have failed to get to two of the three Korean restaurants in Junction City because they close so early and are closed Mondays, so we scheduled our visit to Sunny's yesterday on the calendar and left for dinner at 6 PM. When we arrived into the main thoroughfare in Ogden, we parked out front. It is between the post office and its namesake barber shop, just to the right of the BBQ restaurant. Inside, the space was unexpectedly large, a huge L shaped dining room plus a private room with more tables. The server, also the owner, came over and handed us menus which said the hours were 11-8 Monday-Saturday even though the hours outside were posted 11-7 Monday-Friday. We asked him about this. What we learned was that the restaurant's business ebbs and flows by the number of soldiers at Ft. Riley. Right now there are about 15,000 on post, but it was down to 9,000 recently since many units are deployed (capacity is 40,000). He said there were days with no business so they decided to close earlier and also on weekends because soldiers go out of town. He said lunch business is busier. We then asked for water and learned that the Ogden tap water is from a well and is too hard to drink, so ordinance prohibits restaurants to provide tap water. We went to the refrigerated beverage cases - Eric R. got a bottled water and I got a bottled iced tea. We then ordered a beef bimibap and a chicken bulgogi dinner (the restaurant has smaller portions/lower prices for lunch and will honor those portions and prices at dinnertime). The chicken bulgogi came out served in a bento box with three banchan: broccoli, bean sprouts, and cucumber kimchi. It also had a side of Korean short grain rice and two house-made yakimandu that Eric R. ate since they had pork inside. The bimibap came out in a hot stone pot, an unexpected bonus for us. Eric R. was very pleased with the quality and size of the beef (chuck roast we learned). The rice got crisped up on the bottom and sides of the pot which was delicious. The chicken was spicy and flavorful, and the condiments served my tongue well to cool it off. We finished both dishes entirely. We would definitely return - Eric R. wants to try the beef dumpling soup next. read more

Great for SPICY food! I ordered the chicken bulgogi 3/4 spicy. I was unaware of what that meant--it was so spicy that it was almost unbearable! I had to give myself a prep talk to get through it, telling myself "come on, you're almost there..." mainly because I didn't want to waste it. Overall, the flavor was good...next time I will order it w/o spice. It's a little mom and pop shop so be patient with the service. We went at lunch time during the weekday and it was busy. I waited way too long to check this place out. The bipimbap is legit and they give you 2 eggs instead of 1 which is nice and they don't skimp on the bugolgi. Yaki and kimchi are on point too. Stopped by for dinner and ordered spicy beef Bulgogi with the usual sides. The temperatures offered were " none, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full". I've eaten Korean food many times so I went with 3/4. It was easily the spiciest Bulgogi I'd ever eaten. So hot I could barely finish it! The beef itself was average, nothing special. The cucumber kimchi was diced which in 9 years living in Korea I've never seen, but it was decent. The rice was perfect. All in all not bad, but the over-spice kind of ruined it. Confession: I didn't know what bulgogi was until just now. I'm thrilled that we stopped to check it out on our way across Kansas. Great place about 4 miles North of I-70, but definitely worth a side trip. Excellent food, obviously prepared with care. Service was extra friendly & they honestly valued our business. Basically, it's grilled meat served with a variety of items in a Bento-like box. If you like any sort of Asian food, you'd be really missing out if you didn't try this!!! I had chicken 1/2 hot, hubs had beef 1/2 hot. We could have gone a little hotter, and we thought the beef was a tad more interesting. But, I the loved the chicken, too. read more

The Best! Simply the best K-food around Fort Riley (Manhattan, Ogden, Junction City)! Despite a rather limited menu and truncated hours (they close at 7pm), their food is excellent! The Bibimbap is generous and tasty. Note the TWO eggs and extra Kochujang. Yum! Though the kale, instead of green lettuce, did add some extra crunch. The Korean Chicken Wings (get the spicy, not the sweet) is awesome! Not too hot, but you'll know it's there. Delicious! Six is not enough! Seems to be hit or miss. Unfortunately to the extremes. First time we had it last week, this place was pretty good. Not the best (I grew up eating Korean food, Asian food in general at home and in restaurants). This 2nd time yesterday, the food seemed to be burnt, maybe busy or cooked in a hurry. Generally I ignore things like this as a one off. However this meal caused me to have stomach pains and my wife to throw up all night long. The menu isn't huge but what they lack in options they make up for in friendly, quick service and delicious authentic Korean food! A MUST if coming near Ogden! I eat here way more often than I probably should! They also will do custom orders if you call in advance - if there's a special Korean dish you are really wanting to have. We lived in Ogden for about four months now and just tried this place for the first time. I'm Korean and back home I could easily get authentic Korean food anywhere and at home. So I was having withdrawals and decided to come eat here before I moved back. The service, food quality, portion was all great. The only downside was that it was really really expensive dinner wise.
