I ordered the 2 meat combo platter. My meat was brisket and turkey, which were very tasty. Ice tea was excellent as well, it was freshly brewed. The place was clean and tables were all wiped off, which I arrived shortly after the lunch rush. Staff were friendly that took my order. Stopped by Billy Sims BBQ and had a great experience. The place was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere, and the customer service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the pulled pork nachos and a single rib to try. The nachos were solid--I'd give them an 8.2/10. They had a great flavor, just the right portion size, but could have used a bit more meat to balance things out. The rib was even better, earning an 8.6/10 from me. It had excellent flavor and a perfect texture--firm enough to stay on the bone but tender enough to come clean with a pull. I could definitely eat a whole rack. The only downside was that they didn't remove the membrane before cooking, which would have made the ribs even better. Overall, Billy Sims BBQ delivers a tasty meal with good service and a comfortable setting. I'll be back for more! read more

This spot was really good. We were a little concerned when we went to park and didn't see any cars in the parking lot. The food was so delicious. I ended up getting these BBQ pulled pork tacos. Like this BBQ spaces service, awesome. 3 struggle stars, thpugh 5 star service. I'm in Junction City, Kansas. Super small, quaint military town. The supply chain shortages impact small towns harder than large cities. I feel for small town businesses effected by joblessness in the city at-large, it's difficult to put out your best when dealing with product shortages. So let's roll into my issues they can improve. First. When I'm out for BBQ, whether a trailer smoker, or restaurant, I first open the car window as I approach to smell smoke. I didn't smell any, none, narry. Went in anyway, no smoke smell. No BBQ smell, sterile. That was crazy for me. Server/greeter, was super friendly, super great welcoming smile that said stay, give us a try. I did. Order a baked spud loaded, ribs, sliced brisket, smoked sausage, fried okra, fries. Order came out timely, but in the car driving home, still no smokey aroma from the containers. None? How is this smoked meat, with no smoked aroma blasting my senses? Got home, popped open the containers, looks spot on, picturesque bbq, like the picture. Ribs, fall off the bone, good cook on them, great color,,but just not a deep enough smoked flavor. Not really seasoned. Um, this is sposed to be pit bbq, that was the point. It's bbq. Smoke required. Rub required. Brisket, same. It looked perfect, was cooked tender, but it was like eating a great picture due to the lack of wood smoke. Great texture, great flavor for oven baked, but not bbq. This would kill Arby's as roast beef, but it's supposed to be smoked beef. So great as the other, not so great as bbq. Just get a wood fire going, this would have been almost Texas bbq. Sides were sides. Great at what they are, but it's like the Pips singing their hearts out, doing their smoothest steps, but Gladys Knight wasn't singing on key. Sausage save me!!! Nope. It was as if a rope sausage sized Decker bologna. This was not smoked sausage. It was sausage sized bolo. I love bolo, but not as sausage. I so wanted this to go well for the money. The prices got no "shortages adjustment". Full price? Then give us full smoke. I'm out of town visiting fam. Maybe by next visit, they will have found some hickory, and rub. If I ride up and don't smell smoke, will have to still go in, the ribs were worth it, as was the brisket, but I'll adjust my expectations that it's just great roasted meat, not bbq. Tipped healthy because the young person at the counter truly had great energy, chatted up each customer that approached with so much small town charisma and warm so as to put shine on the whole place. That has to be worth everything the food missed in smoke. I give her 10 . She mentioned wanting to go to culinary school. I hope she does, and succeeds at opening her own place. I don't know who this worker is but she needs to work on being friendly first she tried to discourage me from ordering sayin that they were about to close (7 :15). I came in on March 9 around 7 : 45 she didn't greet me and this is not the first time. I ask to use my senior citizen discount but she said it was to late because she had already ringed it up. Food is ok but I swear every time I place an order there is always an issue. They either forget something or the portion sizes are completely off. I've been going to billy Sims for about 3 years now and each time it gets worse. It's already pricy but now the quality of food has decreased. I'm not sure if management may have changed but it seems as if the people that were there when I started going are completely gone because the food and service changed completely. I even had Billy sims cater a party of mine 2 years ago and it was good, but it's just overly expensive in my opinion. And now with the quality of food being worse I don't think it's even worth the purchase anymore. It seems like you have to pull teeth just to get extra sauce. You'd think when you have 2 orders, with one being ribs you could get more than 3 containers of the small sauces. The sides have never failed me, their baked beans always been pretty good along with the potato salad. But the meats have been where they struggled the most recently. Although their ribs are still very tender they have been dry recently and the lack of sauce that they try so hard to gate-keep doesn't help. My wife didn't enjoy her pulled pork sandwich last time, saying it didn't even taste like pulled pork and that's usually her go to for billy sims. My last time ordering billy sims I added a side of chicken for 2.99 and to my surprised it was 3 small pieces of dry chicken breast in a container they use for sides. It was a very small amount of chicken and I didn't expect for it to be a cut of a boneless chicken breast, very disappointing and over priced. Overall Billy sims is not the worst bbq establishment if you are desperately craving bbq, but just expect to spend a good bit of money. I personally won't be returning. It seems to be continuously down hill. But like I said, if they would make the price more manageable I'd actually return. They're prices were only reasonable when the quality of food was at its peak, it's not worth that much anymore. read more

My grandma bit into a tooth. You can tell it's a human tooth that is rotten. I called the restaurant and she laughs and says "that's not possible". I sent her a picture and the owner calls. He said that it def looked like a tooth but none of their employees were missing a tooth . The least they can do is refund me my money for food that went straight into the trash. The owner said that door dash gave me a partial credit to my account of 23.29. I spoke with the owner again today and he told me that I shouldn't have threw it all away that he would have ate the other pulled pork that didn't have the tooth in it. Overall, gross experience and the owner could have made it a little better by just refunding me but instead he didn't. read more

I've had awful BBQ, and then I've had Billy Sims BBQ. The only thing that separates the two is the cleanliness of the restaurant. It has a nice, clean appearance, but that doesn't apply to the food. There was almost no flavor to my food both times I went there. The service wasn't slow, given that it was lunch hour, but I was quite heavily disappointed in the food. The BBQ is their main responsibility and they 100% drop the ball every time. I'd prefer JC BBQ or Hot Rod BBQ over this place 10 out of 10 times. read more
