We were especially pleased with our four telephone calls before hand to the manager about seating if it rained, reservations, and parking. Poor Management and Poor Treatment of New Employees…read moreWondering why you have a high turnover of STAFF? I'm extremely disappointed in how new employees are being treated at this restaurant. A new server who had only been there one week and was still training was apparently expected to perform perfectly on Father's Day, one of the busiest restaurant days of the year. That is completely unrealistic. What is even more concerning is hearing that management/staff were gossiping about the new server to other employees rather than properly training, supporting, and communicating with them. That is unprofessional and creates a toxic environment for someone who is just trying to learn the job. Even worse, after an entitled customer complained, the new server was reportedly punished by being made to fold silverware for three hours while making only $2 an hour. A customer is not automatically right simply because they complain, and new employees should not be humiliated or punished because management chooses to side with a demanding customer. New employees deserve respect, proper training, and constructive feedback--not gossip, embarrassment, or punishment. If this is how management treats people during their first week, it's no wonder good employees don't stay. Management needs to do better. Treat your employees with the same respect you expect them to show your customers. Treat your staff right, if they are happy then you actually get *happy customers* (look at Hays city store)... maybe get some ideas from the owner because he is doing something right. The Food ?
