Just ate here last night to see what the hype is about (never been to a TR before). First off, it was PACKED, which is typically a good sign (meaning the food must be good or the drinks). Luckily since I am in the area for work, I was just by myself and could sit at the bar to avoid the (what I'm sure was) 30 minute wait. Both bartenders (I believe names were Julie and Tiffany) were extremely kind and curteous and didnt get made when I took my time to order and browse the menu. Got a Yuengling (which from growing up with PA native family is a Lager to us, threw Julie off a bit) a 6oz rare sirloin w/ corn and a sweet potato and a caeser salad: Corn was just okay. Sweet potato was good, just couldnt finish it all. Salad have minimal croutons and was mainly stem romaine and not leafy. Beer was big and cold. Sirloin seemed a bit small but was cooked perfectly. We had a party of 8 and were seated within 10 minutes. After the drink order was placed it took a while to get the drinks (sodas and waters). My husband asked for some sweet n low twice once when we placed the order and again when we received our order. Finally another person brought him the sweet n low. Meanwhile for some reason the waitress had not written down or placed our sons food order and he had to wait once again for his order and two of my grandkids had to wait for honey mustard dipping sauce. I've been to this restaurant 3x each time it gets better, the atmosphere is positive, great service, every time - we are in and out within an hour, they have military discount and show support. The food was good, the floors were FILTHY! I don't mean the usual peanut shells, I mean actual FOOD left on the floor while patrons had to walk on and over it. We had a fork under our table that I finally managed to kick out of the way and the booth across from us had pieces of bread ground into the floor in front of it. It was so unappetizing that we won't be back. On the way out I noticed our section wasn't the only one. Spoke to a girl at the front and she said they don't bother to sweep up food off the floor. REALLY? Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like....even though the health rating was good, the inspectors are not there every day. Gross. We came here on Saturday evening 12/17/16 & waited 150-20 minutes for a table. Waitress was friendly & took our drink orders then brought out rolls with our drinks. I requested regular butter. She forgot twice, then brought out sour cream by mistake. No biggie, we let her know and she was happy to change it. We both ordered steak medium well, not butterflied or pressed. When we got them, my filet was rare. She sent it back and apologized, then after my husband & child had eaten, my steak came back out, again, red with some blood in the middle, definitely not medium well. More like medium rare. Waitress agreed & called a manager over who offered to send it back a 3rd time. I said never mind, I just want to leave. It had been a long time and My child's attention span after almost 2 hours was wearing thin. The manager took it off my bill and sent me home with a steak. I just checked it & it's still medium rare. Not edible in my opinion. If I ever do go back I will be eating anything but steak! I'll go to Conestoga if I want a steak done right. I'll also be re-gifting any gift cards given to me for this place. Sadly, my dinner left me very disappointed. You should never have to send a steak back, but especially not 3 times! We've been to this roadhouse plenty of times and loved it but tonight was a different story. We arrive and got to the hostess stand and they direct us to another hostess stand. This hostess never even looked up from her tablet and said "how many" with attitude. I told her 2, she asked for our name and phone number. I provide it but I guess said the number a little fast for her. She rudely interrupted and asked me to repeat it slower. So I did. We go outside to wait. I get a text within 2 minutes. We go back to the hostess stand and they said "sad if for 4?" Because it was just my husband I standing there. I told them it was for 2. They decided to seat us because it was a mess up. No big deal. We were going to sit us at an awkwardly shaped table so I asked to be seated somewhere else. The young girl that walked us back was very nice about it and said of course. We got to the hostess stand and the girl leaned over and yelled "thats all we have unless you want to wait" i said "no big deal. We can wait" so we finally got seated. We waited for 10ish minutes, our server finally came, his name was Storm. he takes our drink order and I ask that when he brings the rolls to bring regular butter and as we're about to give him our appetizer order he walks away. 30 MINUTES LATER my husband gets his unsweet tea. I still haven't gotten my drink. He goes and disappears again. 10 minutes later he brings my drink and rolls, only cinnamon butter. He takes our appetizer and food order. I'm not sure how long we waited for food but it was about 10ish minutes I believe. No appetizer comes out. Wrong gravy on my mashed potatoes and my husbands "medium rare" steak was still cold on the inside. I asked for a replacement mashed potato and gravy. When I leave this review I'm being completely honest. My boyfriend and I went to this place around dinner time. Of course as I expected a wait time which I was perfect with I knew I was going to wait! So we went into the place and the lady rudely yells "how many" and I said 2 she said 30 minute wait. My husband and I love Texas Roadhouse and have never had a bad experience, until we ate at this location last night. We did the online waitlist and still had to wait quite a while for our table. Our food was mediocre at best, as it was brought out cold and not prepared correctly. Our waitress was great, however there were numerous employees standing around at the check in desk with seemingly nothing to do even though the restaurant was packed. My husband, Tom, and I enjoy eating out. Of late, we have become more critical. Perhaps it's because we're in our mid to upper sixties. Perhaps it's because we expect whatever we order to be better or at least different than what can prepare at home. Granted, we aren't eating at restaurants who offer an obscure cuisine - but more common fares, like steakhouses, Chinese restaurants, and Mexican restaurants. Today we ate at a new steakhouse restaurant in a nearby town. Because my husband loves, loves, loves steak, I thought it would be a nice treat since we've been pretty busy lately. The parking lot at 11:15 in the morning, a mere fifteen minutes after they unlocked the doors, was packed. We walked in and were immediately greeted with loud music (a pet peeve of mine) and a cubby lined with hard benches for those who had the foresight to arrive earlier than we did. I was given a buzzer and told it would be about fifteen minutes. I didn't buy it, but we decided to wait anyway. There were menus available while we waited - what a good idea! - and I began to peruse what was available. I quickly found the salad section and, though the name was different, I found one of my favorites - Black and Blue Salad - strips of perfectly cooked steak, fresh lettuce (I prefer a spring mix or other healthy green), tomatoes, red onion, blue cheese, and croutons. My dressing of choice would be some olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a little salt and pepper. The restaurant had their take on my beloved Black and Blue and it was pretty standard, dare I say blah? The steak was unseasoned, the Romaine lettuce was fine, but as I said I prefer a healthier green, but was grateful it wasn't head lettuce. The tomatoes were sadly not very tomatoe-y ... with all the local farmer's markets, I was shocked at the pale color of the minutely diced hothouse variety of tomatoes. After having tomatoes from roadside stands that dot the entire community, I was pretty bummed by the flavorless tomatoes I was served. There was plenty of bleu cheese, for which I am eternally grateful - it is my go to cheese! There was a smattering of croutons which had more flavor than I expected. I think the salad dressing was the biggest disappointment - the menu said homemade and again ... blah, blah, blah. The menu said it came with Italian, but I was served creamy Italian which I would have changed. I hate creamy Italian and theirs was, by far, one of the worse I've ever had. No flavor. I don't think I've ever - in my entire life - had to add salt and pepper to my salad dressing!!! So, let's move onto Tom's experience. First of all, when the waitress arrived, she asked if he wanted to order an appetizer, he surprised me by saying, "Yes." We rarely order appetizers, preferring to save our caloric intake for our meal. He then ordered a steak (no surprise there!) and selected his two sides - a side salad and a baked sweet potato. We were a little taken aback when his side salad arrived before his appetizers. The appetizer arrived before he finished his salad and very shortly thereafter, his steak/potato and my salad arrived. He pushed his appetizers aside to eat his steak. He told me the appetizers were pretty greasy and again, not much flavor. In their defense, all the food in the appetizer combo were deep-fried and covered in cheese. Tom would have eaten more than one of the potato skins and more of the hot wings had his meal not arrived. We thought it was odd to receive his salad before the appetizer and that his meal was served before he could even finish the appetizer. But, his steak was perfectly cooked, though seriously lacking seasoning. And, the butter for his sweet potato was nothing except processed grease ... why do restaurants insist on serving a Country Crock-type of margarine instead of real butter? I'd pay extra for real butter. So, there you have it ... oh, I could have prepared a fabulous dinner for six with the money we spent on lunch today. When we left, I asked Tom to rate the restaurant on a scale of one to five, five being awesome. Wish there were more healthy options but when you go to any Texas Roadhouse you know what you're getting! Good ole southern food. Steaks were cooked perfect, the steak knifes on the other hand need to be sharpened or replaced, they were extremely dull. Went there on a Friday night, not because I wanted to, but because it was my niece's 16th birthday and that's where she wanted to eat. Arrived at 5:30. The place was packed because it is Dothan's newest restaurant and everybody has to try it right now. We were a party of 8. There was no room to wait inside so we had to wait outside. There had been a recent rain and the benches were wet. My brother went inside to inform the hostess that someone needed to dry the benches so the multitudes of people (25+) could sit down. She handed him a towel so he could wipe them down ourselves. Wrong answer. He doesn't work for Texas Roadhouse. She later came out and dropped dowels on each of the benches and went back inside. Not once did anybody offer to take drink orders, offer appetizers, or give an approximation of how much longer the wait would be. After a two hour wait, we were seated. The waiter was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. He met every request with a smile and a can do attitude. The food however left a great deal to desire. I ordered the Country Fried Sirloin. When it arrived, it was as large as the plate. Seriously. Unfortunately the meat underneath the breading was only about 1/3 that size. No kidding, I threw away a lot of breading that wasn't attached to any meat. The white gravy was sweet. Cake batter sweet. Disgusting. Three of us had the white gravy and all three had the same reaction simultaneously. "is this really supposed to be sweet?" My two sides were Chili and Caesar salad. My chili had way too much Cumin, which is saying something since I really like Cumin. The Caesar was dull and flavorless. Others in my party were equally unhappy with their meal. I polled the table and asked everybody to rank their meal on a scale of 1-10. I got: 3, 8, 8, 4, 5, 5, 5, 4, 6. That's an average of 6. I hold Texas Roadhouse on top of my list of great places to eat.... That is why I took my wife to my there for her birthday yesterday. I told the hostess on our way to our table it was my wifes birthday. Told the waitress as she came to take our drink orders. Shortly after this the staff and everyone reconized the young lady at the table beside our table for her birthday. At this time I told the employ we reconized this young lady that today was my wifes birthday also to which she sort of laughed. Told two more staff members of her birthday and nothing happened. I guess this is not really important but if you're going to recognize one person you should recognize all. Trivial I suppose but I wanted to recognize my wonderful wife on her birthday and let others help me to do it. Meal was GREAT as always. My wife got a little upset that they started sweeping the floor around us and stated she could not believe it and she did not want the dust off of that dirty carpet flying up onto her food. read more

So I wanted a steak. Arrived about 4:30 just after getting off work. Got seated and handed a menu. Friendly waitress came by to get my order. I had not had prime rib in over 15 years so I ordered it. Did not get it cause the server said they were out. At 4:40 in the freaking afternoon on a weekday. Wow. So I got a rib eye, ordered it medium rare with corn. The corn was the best that I ate that evening. Rolls were okay. Something to eat while I waited 18 minutes, and the restaurant was not busy. Different server brought the steak to my table and left. The steak was done. And dry. Done & dry. I ate the corn cause it was at least moist and tasted okay. Ran out of drink and no server. Did see other servers and asked them to find my waitress. Also noticed other servers give their tables free samples/appetizers. Free? Yes free. Was over 20 minutes before my lost waitress showed up again, this time with my bill as she flew by my table, dropping off the bill and came back 5 minutes later. I asked her for the manager and she gave me a look of doom. Minutes later, the manager came over and I said my time was not good. Out of prime rib soo early in the afternoon, server vanished, steak over-cooked, lack of refill of drink, server never returned to my table. Oh and when I said I saw other tables getting free samples/appetizers other tables were getting, I was told they were for first time guests to the restaurant. I said well it was my first time and I was not offered nor given the chance. The manager grabbed the bill off the book and said he would comp it. And he turned to walk away in a bit of a huff. OUCH. Last night was my second visit to Texas Roadhouse. On my first/last visit, the music was extremely loud! I wasn't sure that I would make a second visit because of my tinnitus. On that visit, most everything went well except the my prime rib was more medium - done than medium rare. Last night, I called ahead. Got there and was seated within 5 minutes of arriving. The waitress was there within a couple of minutes and took our drink and appetizer order. She was back with our drinks. We were ready to order and place our order. Just a few minutes after that, the appetizer arrives and it was great! Just about the time we were finishing the last of the appetizer (Cheese Fries w/Chili) the salads arrived. Here's where it goes downhill. After finishing our salads, we waited and waited. Our server finally brings out our entree's without the baked potatoes. I ordered a prime rib once again that was to be cooked medium-rare. It was not. It was more done that the one I had on my last visit. I was almost half way through my prime rib when the baked potatoes arrived. I could tell when I put my fork in mine that it was not cooked completely. The taste confirmed my suspicion. I was truly disappointed. I just left the baked potato splayed open on the side plate. I will be seriously considering going back to Longhorn's the next time I'm in the mood for prime rib. I WILL say the noise (music) level was better last night. I don't think they had the speakers going on our side of the restaurant for some reason. Thank goodness! The only time it was truly loud was when the servers did their line dancing. The next time I go, if there is a next time, I will be adamant about how my steak is cooked. We've been to Texas road house several times. I have no complaints. It's been very good, with exceptional service every time.

I've had to send my steak back twice for not being cooked properly but other than that, the food has been great. The steaks are seasoned perfectly. The mashed potatoes taste instant, I don't recommend them at all. The service has always been great. My 4 year old loves it so much that she wanted her birthday party there. HOWEVER, if you have a big party, don't bank on sitting together as a family. This is a big downfall to the way this establishment is set up. Apparently the tables are permanent and can't be moved. Not a very good idea in my opinion. read more
