I am basing my review on Texas Roadhouse from all my past experiences. I will give my opinion about Dothan location at the bottom. I love Texas Roadhouse. I always look forward to the hot rolls when I walk in the door with their special honey/cinnamon butter. My sweet tea has always been sweet. I have been eating at Texas Roadhouse since 2002 and I have several items on the menu. My favorite is definitely the ribs as they fall off the bone. I have to eat their ribs with a knife and fork all the time and the BBQ sauce is a bold, tangy sauce. It isn't really sweet nor is it spicy. You walk by the steaks when you see them at the front. They are hand-cut on site. Chicken fingers are breaded and made fresh. The breading seems to have a jalepeno flavor mixed in. Another favorite I have is the fried steak sirloin. I usually don't order fried steak from restaurants because my mom's fried steak is hard to beat. But I will make an exception for Texas Roadhouse. It is a massive piece of steak with excellent breading. There is more meat than breading. My favorite sides are the sweet potato, house salad with their homemade dressings, snap beans - really sweet, cup of chili with cheese and red onion for a bold flavor, and steak fries. As far as appetizers go, I love the rattlesnake bites which are jalepenos stuffed with cheese. The cactus blossom has more of a sweet onion taste to it than compared to Outbacks. My favorite appetizer would be the Loaded steakhouse fries by whatever name they go by. Texas Roadhouse also has an amazing company made steak sauce on every table. I didn't like it at first but now I can't help myself with it. The atmosphere is always energetic, loud, and pretty fun on the country side. As for the Dothan location, I have been to this location probably 5 times. The first 4 times, my service was phenomenal. No problems. But the last time, my waitress was absolutely terrible. It was totally on my waitress too. She took forever to take my party's drink order, then she passed us off to another waitress to take our order, she took forever to refill our drinks and after she took our refill order - she came back by before refilling our drinks only to find out she had passed that task off to another! Plus, we did not get rolls when we sat down or silverware. The ones she passed her tasks off to did a great job. But it wasn't their responsibility. If Texas Roadhouse replies to this review like some places do, I will be glad to tell them the name of the waitress and her description. read more

Service was terrible, waitress visited us a total of 3 times over a 2 hour span of eating. Furthermore the first rolls were trash, but the second round was better(only reason for a two star rating). I was hesitant about this location after reading the reviews but my surprise I cannot see where the others had issues. Did not have an issue with the cleanliness even though there were peanuts all over the floor but that's to be expected in this place. The food was really good. I had the pork chop which was cooked very well. It was perfect balance seasoning and the meat Was Juicy. Service was top-notch. We were served by Justin and he was very attentive, friendly and very professional. It was Veterans Day so he made sure my father got his entree for free which was just potato skins but still great service. I have to applaud this place for their patriotism and dedication to veterans. My only suggestion would be for the menus to be a little cleaner but judging from the business today I really can't fault them too much on it. Wow this restaurant was built-up and ended up being a huge disappointment. We waited 55 minutes for our food and yes we checked the time. Service: Bar staff is very nice! Although we were seated before getting to order alcohol, the bartender was super attentive and brought us all waters. The hostesses didn't give us any silverware so when I was served my side salad waaaaayyyy before the rest of my party's food came out, I couldn't even eat it. Finally I was able to flag our server down and ask for a fork. After we complained about the food taking an hour, the manager came over and haphazardly apologized. She took care of it on the bill but I really hope she fixes the issues that we experienced today. Food: The chili was good but was served very lukewarm. The ribs were hot and the salad was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, the food took an hour! People who arrived after us with similar food orders were getting their food long before ours. It was just ridiculous. There was no proactive response to why our food took so long nor were there updates of when it would come out. We were starving and it really ruined our dining experience. I'm a big fan of TR and normally patronize whenever on business travel but this location struggles with takeout orders . The food is still good for the money but the service and attention to details lack. No matter how much detail you give on the on-line order they continue to miss..ie no napkins, utensils, butter for those rolls! They put all the paperwork and receipts in the bag but forget the necessities which is a killer when you are in a hotel. I wish mgt had more over site for us takeout diners. If I could leave no stars I would. We just moved here and thought we'd give this location a try. It's awful. Just bad. I ordered a small salad and chili cup for my meal. They brought it out immediately, well before anyone's else's food. And it was cold. My husbands food didn't come out until after everyone else was done eating. We told the waitress we'd just like our check so we could leave. Neither my husband or myself had a meal. The manager came over to ask what the issue was and right away had a nasty attitude. We went here tonight and we had our server Naomi. She was really great! Always on top of things and let us know how long our food would be even though she had a lot of guests to take care of. The food was phenomenal. Mom and I had the country fried chicken we both had a salad. Only thing I can say about the salad was it didn't even fill the bowl other than that the food was great. To say this was a poor experience would be an understatement. My girlfriend and I came here for a big exam I am taking tomorrow in Dothan. I wanted to eat a great meal before my stressful day tomorrow. So I chose Texas Roadhouse, a reliabe choice because they're always consistent.... right? Wrong. I registered online for "call ahead seating", arrived to the restaurant 20 minutes later, as it stated. I checked in at the front desk, and they told me I was on the list And checked in. I check back about 45 minutes later, hungry and annoyed because I did call ahead for a reason, and she proceeds to tell me I'm next on the list. Great news right? Wrong. another 20 minutes goes by, and I go back up to the desk to see how much longer..... a new girl is at the desk and proceeds to tell me that the last person never actually checked me in..... so I'm not even on the list at this point. Luckily, this girl pulled some strings and we were placed high up on the list that we were never originally on I guess. Then we get seated. our server, blank, was amazing. She was the only reason we did not walk out in anger. We asked the manager, Tammie, for rolls because we were not given any at the same time we were sat. She was running fried pickles to another table when I asked this. She rudely Stoped, and said to us "well can I drop these off first?". Wow. Just wow. I have never been treated with such disrespect from a manager at a restaurant before. that's not the end of the story though. We order our steaks medium rare (Wild West wedneaday special), and our steaks come out well done. Our server kindly has the kitchen remake 1 steak and pack it Togo because at this point we have been here for 2+ hours. Biggest waste of time and money. Like I said previously, our server was great! Went tonight for my birthday, spent 40.00 and it was awful. We ordered a cactus blossom and it came out cold and ugly. Sent it back only to get one that wasn't cored and hard to pull the onion pieces. By this point, we were upset. The reason we came was for this app. Food came out a few mins after our replacement blossom came, and it wasn't good either. The mushrooms I asked to add on my country Chicken was salty and potatoes was cold. It was 9 when we got there, website said it closes at 10. I guess it was to close to end of night, because it was god awful and worst birthday ever. My grandson and I ate here last Sunday and I didn't write them up, but I felt compelled to do so after the horrible service and food I got somewhere else today. I ordered the pork chop, house salad and the baked sweet potato. Many people overcook pork chops, but this one was just right. I'm not a pork chop person, but a friend of mine once had me try a bite of hers and I get it quite often now. My favorite is the rolls and the cinnamon butter. I could eat the whole basket myself. I am only giving this place 1 star because I can't give a zero. We arrived at 8 pm and told there would be a 15-20 minute wait, even with every other table being empty. We sat at the bar to wait. I ordered a gin and tonic and they didn't have any tonic. I then ordered something else but it was too sweet for my taste. While we were at the bar, their system went down. Thirty minutes later my husband went to find out the issue, considering we saw several parties were seated. Not only were they uncaring but they were rude and chuckled at our plight. I eat at Texas Roadhouse several times a month, always have a good experience. I think they have the best steak around for a chain restaurant. Much to our surprise (since such horrible reviews), Taylor did a great job and all our steaks were fantastic!! (Coming from southern CA comparisons of high end-steak houses like Maestro's, Flemings, Ruth Chris - these steaks held their own. Of course, a much different ambiance, but we enjoyed the non-pretentious setting with our parents; they were also comfortable, and my husband and I also enjoyed the much lower price tag:-)) The restaurant was packed, on a Sunday night, so we were glad we called ahead to be put on their wait list. (For some reason, no one in the area took reservations - we even tried the highly acclaimed Log Cabin in Early County, drove all the way, and within 15 minutes of opening, over an hour wait, but still no reservations accepted and we left.) We ended up "succumbing" to our last option (Texas Roadhouse) and so glad we did! We were seated in a nice corner booth where the noise level was lower, we ordered Ribeye (bone in and without bone) NY strip and Filet Mignon...and all cuts were very flavorful, tender and juicy! Our salads and baked potatoes were prepped perfectly and served quickly. We tried 4 other places before coming here (all the way from Eufaula to Dothan) and all had a long wait... This was honestly so disappointing. I absolutely love Texas Roadhouse but because of tonight I won't be back anytime soon. The service was really bad. We got in and waited over an hour before we got rolls. We then had to request plates to put them on and remind someone to bring us silverware. We then got our steaks and they were all wrong with the wrong sides. We had to ask for our salads and appetizer after we got the steak. The waitress then said "We are out of rattlesnake bites" after we got the meal! Never cleared salad plates from the table. Overall disappointed. My Fiancé and I came here for dinner last night but judging only off the reviews we were a little hesitant. Our expectations were completely exceeded and we really enjoyed eating here! the place was packed, but we were seated immediately and our waitress had no problem keeping up the with the pace of the place either, our drinks stayed full and our appetizer (Cactus Blossom, super yummy) followed by the rest of our meal came out at good timing. we both ordered Steaks, and although mine was well done, it didn't lack in flavor. We are huge fans of the Texas Roadhouse, however this location always leaves us disappointed. The servers are friendly and willing to help but the food is usually not well prepared. Went to Dothan Texas Roadhouse today. Greeted nicely by front staff. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated I waited about 5 minutes before anyone showed up. After getting our drink order, I place my meal order, and had to wait about 40 minutes for my meal. The only good part, the waitress kept the bread plentiful, but by the time I got my meal, I was full of bread! Good thing because the steak was overcooked, vegetables were disgusting, and the kids meals uneaten. My daughter ate the applesauce (guess that's good). The coke was awful; tasted like a mix of coke and Dr. Pepper. The whole time I was there, the waitress never said a word other than ordering. No managers stopped by. The music was so loud, even my kids complained. It felt worse than being at a bar/club. There are a lot of employees, which is why I don't understand why it is so slow. When I left, I had my hands full; holding a kid, to go plate, and a drink, yet none of the five front desk hostess offered to hold the door open. Seems like common courtesy, but maybe I'm wrong. I love Texas Roadhouse and was so excited it opened, but this service destroyed my excitement. I probably will not go back there, unless something major changes and I hear positive reviews.
