My key project was for a Charity Golf tournament, and I did NOT want the standard boring Trophy's that you may run across online or through the BIG stores. After I met with Don and his amazing wife Michelle, we went back and forth on various ideas, and he was able to create several mockups which allowed us to fine tune the smallest details. The time that Don spent going over every aspect of the Trophy was insane as there were no details left untouched. The final product was more than I could have ever expected, and the winners of the tournaments loved the Trophy's more than anything else they got. Since he did such an amazing job with the Trophy's, I went ahead and had him create custom poker chips to be handed out to every player. He went as far as making the poker chips textured to look and feel like a golf ball!! WHO DOES THAT!!! What a nice touch. I have been using Crown Trophy for the last ten years to put together various plaques, gifts, and…read moreawards for the company for which I work. I have brought them crazy things that we wanted mounted as part of the award (infrared weapon sights, infrared goggles, silicon wafers, etc.). I have sung their praises until the last several months. They were sold to a new owner sometime in the last few years and the customer service has become non-existent at best. At the beginning of COVID, in March 2020, the new owner let most of the employees go and ever since then, I cannot get them to return a call or send me a proof in a timely manner. Everything I send them is custom. I create all the artwork for the plaques and send it to them...everything is ready to go. They do not have to do much but produce a proof and put the award together. The last few projects I have sent them has required me to contact them and ask about the proof and why I have not yet received one. I used to receive a proof without giving it a second thought. The latest project involves mounting a component, which we produce, onto a wooden plaque with a sublimated / inscribed plate beneath it as a retirement gift. I dropped the component off on 23 March when I looked at various wooden plaque options and made a selection. Kim, the owner, didn't write down anything when I was there; not the company name, not my name, not the wooden plaque I selected, or did she put a name on the static bag with the component we want to mount on the plaque in it. When I got back to my computer, that same afternoon, I sent the finished artwork for the sublimation to the store. It is now 29 March and I have received nothing...not a sales order, a quote, or a proof. I called them and they had no clue to what I was referring. They FINALLY found the e-mail I sent with the artwork but could not confirm whether they knew where the component we want mounted on the plaque is. The component is something created by the man for whom the retirement plaque is being created. That component is the biggest part of the whole thing. I never had one concern about anything with the previous owner. Now I think I have just placed my last order with them. I hate to say this as they have been awesome to work with in the past, but the new owner and the staff she has chosen to hire do not instill any confidence in me. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
