Finally let me in and seemed like I was annoying her the entire time. I have been using Crown Trophy for the last ten years to put together various plaques, gifts, and awards for the company for which I work. I have brought them crazy things that we wanted mounted as part of the award (infrared weapon sights, infrared goggles, silicon wafers, etc.). I have sung their praises until the last several months. They were sold to a new owner sometime in the last few years and the customer service has become non-existent at best. At the beginning of COVID, in March 2020, the new owner let most of the employees go and ever since then, I cannot get them to return a call or send me a proof in a timely manner. Everything I send them is custom. I create all the artwork for the plaques and send it to them...everything is ready to go. They do not have to do much but produce a proof and put the award together. The last few projects I have sent them has required me to contact them and ask about the proof and why I have not yet received one. I used to receive a proof without giving it a second thought. The latest project involves mounting a component, which we produce, onto a wooden plaque with a sublimated / inscribed plate beneath it as a retirement gift. I dropped the component off on 23 March when I looked at various wooden plaque options and made a selection. Kim, the owner, didn't write down anything when I was there; not the company name, not my name, not the wooden plaque I selected, or did she put a name on the static bag with the component we want to mount on the plaque in it. When I got back to my computer, that same afternoon, I sent the finished artwork for the sublimation to the store. It is now 29 March and I have received nothing...not a sales order, a quote, or a proof. I called them and they had no clue to what I was referring. They FINALLY found the e-mail I sent with the artwork but could not confirm whether they knew where the component we want mounted on the plaque is. The component is something created by the man for whom the retirement plaque is being created. That component is the biggest part of the whole thing. I never had one concern about anything with the previous owner. Now I think I have just placed my last order with them. I hate to say this as they have been awesome to work with in the past, but the new owner and the staff she has chosen to hire do not instill any confidence in me. They are fast, efficient and so nice and accommodating. Even when I made the mistake they were so good to quickly finish it in time for us to give out at our meeting that same day. After calling ahead to see if they had what I needed and drove 30 mins out of my way there and back home. And was told "yes come in we have those!" I'm severely annoyed!!! Just came in the shop for a "single" trophy plaque/plate "refill".... That I was told over the phone they carry. Apparently they do NOT but they ended up doing it for me because I was so irritated. They also bashed Things Remembered store in mall as being too expensive. And I should have my stuff engraved with them. Yeah NO thanks! I felt they were completely scatterbrained in this place. While the product is quality, very frustrated with the customer service. I was not notified when my order was ready, I had to call and ask. I was told it was ready, drove out of my way to pick up the other and only half of it was ready. And when I asked why they said "oh someone should have told you".....yeah, I agree. So I had to push my event out since the awards weren't ready. Three days later, I called ahead to confirm the second half of my order was ready for pick up and they hadn't even started yet. I went back again to get a marble nameplate engraved for my desk at work. They warned me that they can't engrave it directly because of the type of marbling -- it would crack if they tried. They had several options for engraving a plate to attach to the marble and it came out great and looks very classy. I opted for silver on black, with a silver backing that looks great on the black marble. Service was excellent and it was done in a snap, and super affordable. When I have kids and may or may not need bows/trophies or really anything, this will definitely be my place. read more

I'm not sure what Steve M in Allen in talking about because the people at Crown Trophy will tell you up front what the pricing is going to be. If they make a mistake, they correct it at no charge. The only time I had to pay for a correction was because i missed a mistake on the proof they sent me. But that was on me, not on Crown Trophy. I have been in the store when a local scout troop has been buying trophies for their Pine Wood Derby competition and the personnel are always willing to work with the organization. We went in to have .Crown Trophy help us with a Boy Scout Eagle project and they promised to help at a discounted price, but when we came to make the order, the items we thought were going to be discounted went up 10X and offers a lesser product for the agreed to cost. We took the lesser offer to stay inside budget, and the product delivered was not correct. When we asked them to correct the problem, they would only do so for an additional charge, and would not take back the error item for credit. They added words not in the request. Their mistake, my expense. Not good business people. Now we are stuck with an inferior product from a company that doesn't stand behind their work. Very dissappointing. read more
