12/27/23: My daughter wrapping up college was given a "promise" ring from a long time boyfriend. Of course it was not a million dollar ring or an engagement thing. Just a promise and lets say Step 1 is all for a dad scared like me. All I know is my baby girl all grown up was excited, loved it and her bo worked and saved for it.....and remember nerves guys. It needed to be resized of course and not just myself but wife and son said go to Diamond Shoppe; we know them being local and support local. I was shocked ( or us amazed) that my daughter and wife were told it is not real and " you should go to Wal-Mart". No one in our family are regulars being jewlery of course every season but for her to say that and hearing it was a no. Have the foresight to think well treat them proper as in the past we have engagement then wedding and hubby gets something too right. Buyer beware - Debbie is the worst. I will never go here again. Bought an engagement ring for my fiancé with sizing included in the price. When my fiancé showed up to get it sized Debbie tried to charge her for the sizing. Then they sized it wrong. After getting that corrected they ruined the ring. Looks like horrible soldering on the sides. I have never been screwed over so bad in my life. I can't say enough bad things about this place. I found this shop and was excited that they are a small locally owned business not too far from me. I needed watch batteries replaced. Oh my goodness...for 4 watches it was $108 and some change!!!! NEVER AGAIN will I go here, and I had to set my own dang watches. What the heck. For that price, I would have expected the date and time to be set and then to be cleaned. Nope! Next time, I will drive to my guy in upper Greenville and have them replaced for $5 each. Ask prices before you bring anything here! read more

The shop owner Chris refused to handle my ring sale if I did not purchase a ring in his store after I had an appointment to come in. He does not have a good selection or what I was looking for and since I wouldn't purchase my ring there he wouldn't accept my other ring sale. He just wanted me to come to the store and would not help me with providing insight or selections or availability. SO UNPROFESSIONAL BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, he literally canceled my appointment just because I wanted to see the selection before committing to a purchase! Stay away from this shop! read more

I asked her if she had a mask, she pointed to it around her neck but didn't put it on. I had mine on to protect her, yet she said it's not required in the store and didn't put hers on so I left. I have done business with My Diamond Shoppe several times in the past with positive experiences. However, I accompanied my son and future daughter-in-law to see about getting my Mother's heirloom diamond engagement ring sized. The diamond is lovely and the setting was hand made and art deco in style. We wee assured their jeweler would be able to size the ring. When Carly & I picked up the ring, it was visibly crooked and actually damaged, whereas in an effort to achieve her small size, the ridge part holding the diamonds was pulled down and was off center. We are assured that the ring would be restored and sized correctly. When we returned for this very treasured rIng, it was even worse than the first time and was very rough and sharp on the inside of the ring. That evening a sliver of gold shard came off and cut the inside of Carly's finger, drawing blood. Upon returning the ring again, Chris Sykes, the owner, stated that we should find out who we were going to take the ring tO for repair, and stated he would cover the cost of a proper repair. We found a soecialist who actually came to the house to assess the ring and reported the cost of repair would be between $300.00 & $600.00, but that they wouldn't know just yet for sure. I called Chris and told him when we received this information and he again said, "just send me the biil, I will take care of it." But that was not the case. We took the restored ring in, and all of the jeweler's notes in, as well as the bill to show Chris and give hIm the contact information, so that he could take care of things, as promised. He was absolutely hostile and very inappropriate in his communication with both my son and myself. He told both of us that he woukd call the police and have us "removed" from his property, if we did not leave rIght then. I was incredulous! I am a personal friend of his Aunt and have also been to lunch and out to the Senior Center for swimming with his Mother and his Auntie. Never have I ever been treated so disrespectfully! Of course we left, as requested. Chris Sykes, owner of My Diamond Shoppe, did not pay for any of the repairs on the ring which came to over $300.00. Nor,did he ever issue an apology for his jeweler damaging our family heirloom, or for his hostile and inappropriate behavior toward my son or myself. So no, I would not recommend My Diamond Shoppe, to anyone, ever. read more

A kind citizen took it in to the folks at My Diamond Shoppe presuming it was someone who had been in their store for a purchase. The owner took up her time to track down a telephone number for me to let me know they were securely holding my personal document pending my arrival to procure the document. I recently dropped off an older Concord ladies watch for repair. I had taken it to another jewelry shop months earlier and was told it would cost $500 plus for the repairs. You can imagine how pleased I was when I picked up the watch from the My Diamond Shoppe in McKinney and was told the repair charge was $10.38! After spending money here for over 4 years and being extremely happy, I am very disappointed with an experience I had here a few weeks ago. I went in to get a quote on a piece of custom jewelry and met with the asst manager. The past two times I've visited, I've noticed the older woman and her son haven't been there. There is new management...after I received the quote on the ring, she point blank said "did you know you have a chip in your diamond?" she offered to show me through the loop and I couldn't see. I took it to my jeweler who made the ring and there was absolutely not a thing wrong with it....BEWARE!! read more

Great store, I am very happy with my experience. Went in a 2 days ago for a wedding ring for my upcoming proposal. They were extremely helpful and patient with me in helping me pick out a ring that my future wife will love. We found a beautiful ring that they had in stock and fit perfectly with my budget. They were also very helpful in getting the ring sized quickly (took less then 24 hours), since I procrastinated and waited until about 5 days before our vacation where I was planning on proposing. Debbie and the owner Chris were very knowledgeable and professional, making me feel very comfortable in making a large purchase. I am new to the McKinney area, and I went into the diamond shoppe today about a locket repair. The diamond shoppe was the second place I had gone to after and initial unsuccessful repair attempt at another local jeweler. I was immediately greeted by exceptionally friendly staff! I explained to them that I wanted the locket replated (it's white gold) and that it wasn't locking properly. The employees Jennie and Heather were EXCEPTIONAL!!! They took their time, looked the locket over said the locket could be repaired no problem, and plated appropriately! Told me the quote prior to me leaving the locket with them, and then offer to check the diamonds and clean my wedding ring! Since moving to this area, this is the first business I have experienced such AMAZING service! More McKinney business could learn a few things about proper customer service from this business. Not happy. Will not be going back to this store. I was sold 3 retired Pandora bracelets out of the 4 I bought as gifts. While deciding to buy them, I wasn't happy with the color and size they had left, but was assured I could go to another Pandora shop to trade them out. When I attempted to trade, the Pandora manager in Watters Creek refused to swap because they were old and she wouldn't be able to sell them (even though I bought two additional bracelets from them). So now I have some bracelets I'll be giving as gifts that the recipient will not be able to exchange if a different size is needed. I spent too much money on these gifts for that kind of situation. Although My Diamond Shoppe did accept one bracelet I returned, I no longer have the time to run around the big city to resolve this, I am out of time and these gifts have to get on a plane with me! A business owner should know their inventory well enough to be able to properly inform a customer about a purchase. Disappointed is all I can say. And yes, I spoke with and informed them. read more
