I purchased it from a three generations established jeweler in Charleston, SC. I have the original paperwork, box, hang tag and lapel pin that came with my original purchase. The salesman who helped me was even surprised! He was very polite I must add. But he referred me to the manager who simply dismissed me by stating "why don't you get a second opinion?" I left feeling very angry and embarrassed. I might add that I am a high end watch collector. And although they have several beautiful timepieces at Marc Samuel's and the salesperson who helped me was very soft spoken and kind, I will not ever go back. Partially due to the manager's dismissal of my situation and secondly due to the fact that if their repair person cannot effectively recognize a 32 year old Breitling Jupiter Pilot watch, then maybe he shouldn't be repairing their customer's high end purchases.

I also took several pieces of gold jewelry to be sorted by karat and examined to be sold. When I got the offer for the gold it seemed like it could be a very low offer so I had my son pick up the pieces and bring them home. I still had 2 rings to pick up from that point and when I nice MAN called and said they were ready I went to pick them up. I was greeted warmly by Irena (one of the nicest people you will ever meet). Roluca Cohen (the mgr. who had helped me with all of it originally and who gave me the gold offer) was there helping another customer. As Irena was checking me out, my balance was $100, Roluca pipes up, in the middle of helping her customer, and says, "she has a balance!" Irena looked at her a little shocked and back at me. She seemed embarrassed by what Roluca said. I just held up my hands in a shrug. It was insulting. Did she think I was going to abscond with my rings without paying the $100 balance? It certainly sounded like she was concerned. I had planned to have all my other gold rings sold and the stones made into a specially designed ring but I will no longer do it there. I won't patronize their store again. All these positive reviews about how nice "Bob" is with which to work? I never saw a Bob. Maybe he was a previous owner. I'm unsure. I don't know what Roluca's issue was but what started as a positive experience a couple of weeks ago ended so negatively. As my family says, I'm too trusting in the sincerity of some people. This was probably one of those times. FYI: I got a much higher offer for the gold elsewhere.

I went to my sisters (who also has purchased many of jewelry from them) and the 2 of us were able to put the necklace back together.
