I'm a sucker for a spooky tourist spot so I was really excited to find out about Sisters Grimm…read morewhile planning my first trip to Texas. The shop itself was wonderfully decorated and had a wide variety of books and souvenirs. I went to the shop a few times during the week we were there. All of the customer service staff at the shop were amazing, one of which went digging through boxes in the back for 5 minutes so they could find my size in a shirt I really wanted. Since my partner and I were there to celebrate my birthday, we decided to splurge for the bus tour so I could see the local cemeteries. Our tour guide was Lady Lex who had big theatre kid energy in the best way. She was incredibly engaging and patient with everyone who wanted to take a lot of photos. Our bus driver Robert was great as well. I was truly appreciative of Lady Alex's statement at the cemetery that while the stories are intriguing, ultimately they are about real people who lost their lives and we should respect the tragedy of that. While I love a good ghost/true crime story, I think it's important to humanize the subjects of those stories. Overall I had a fantastic time and was really thrilled to see the beautiful architecture of the Menger Hotel and local cemetery. I would definitely recommend the shop and the tour.

We found some amazing perfume, a Journal, a spooky puzzle, and a couple books. The store has a sitting parlor which is so lovely and spooky. I was hoping for a few more Oddities. They had some beautiful pinned insects but was hoping for more GRIMM oddities. They also give Ghost Tours, which we didn't have a chance to attend.

Tour guide was informative and funny. I grabbed a slice of pizza thinking I had plenty time they had boarded already and waited on me. Thanks so much!! The boat ride provided a good overview of what's offered along the strip. We noted places to dine and a couple of hotels to check out in the future. The next day was a parade and that was fun. I'm talking grown adults acting like unsupervised 8-year-olds. Drinks flying, people ducking, one girl fighting for her dignity like her top came off ... and I'm pretty sure we came within inches of flipping that boat into the San Antonio River Walk. Meanwhile, the captain's just cruising along like, "This is fine. This is my Tuesday." Daytime? Beautiful, classy, postcard stuff. Nighttime? Turns into a floating bar fight with better lighting and a tour guide doing stand-up. End result: I came for a relaxing boat ride... Left feeling like I survived a low-speed aquatic bar brawl in one of the best spots in Texas.

It has a unique atmosphere that feels very different from a typical downtown area. I especially enjoyed simply walking along the river and taking in the surroundings. There was always something to see, whether it was the architecture, the boats passing by, or the people enjoying the area. Despite being a popular destination, it never felt overwhelming, and there were plenty of spots to slow down and relax. The River Walk is absolutely worth visiting and is one of the best attractions in San Antonio. Whether you're looking for a scenic walk, a meal by the water, or just a place to spend a few hours, it's easy to recommend.

It's easy to walk, the tour boats are novel, rental bikes are everywhere, there are tons of places to eat and shop, and you can even carry open containers of alcohol along the River level. Art museums, hotels, the courthouse, and more can be accessed from the River, so it's easily a huge part of the heart of downtown. The city keeps doing more and more to make the space memorable, so permanent art installations, parks, and other similar features keep getting added as time goes on. If you're visiting from out of town, I can't recommend adding the River Walk to your trip enough. It's absolutely worth experiencing for yourself.

He didn't just point out murals; he shared the stories behind them and even introduced us to one of the pioneers of San Antonio's mural movement. Such a special experience! As a San Antonio native, Brian also gave us a list of his personal favorite local spots. We couldn't hit them all, but we did make it to Teka Molino for puff tacos and fajitas... and WOW. A 10/10. Truly some of the best tacos we've ever had. We'll absolutely be back for another tour -- and more tacos!
