I thought it would be neat to plan this for my husbands bday but to my surprise I really enjoyed it too! We did a shorter tour which we regret and wish we had done the long one because time flew bye! Emzy was very knowledgeable about the history of each stop and gave the backgrounds, interesting facts, and insight to every place we went. Not only did he know every detail but just walking to each stop he would include some history of certain areas in the journey that were very neat... there's no way I can truly explain how awesome this experience was! Don't waste your time with paying $20 for a 10 minute audio tour other places because it's a waste of time and like a broken record. This is hands down epic!

We could have spent the whole time in the first bar alone. Each bar was awesome, and he got us discounts at each spot as well. I will be returning to San Antonio and going to two of the bars just to hang out. Emzy knows esoteric and interesting historical facts, but you can talk to him about just about anything and he has something interesting to add to the conversation.

I, after much research, found the parent company. It's San Antonio Walks & Drives. Of course, I later found out I could have accessed the Private Tour through www.sanantoniowalks.com as well, which I'd originally used. Well, anyway, as expected - very impressive. Nothing in San Antonio "tourwise" has actually impressed me but this company. When friends visit I show off the city via this company. They always thank me!

Several tour options and times. I got to go on the one along downtown, down the Riverwalk and the historic district (gorgeous old homes). Great tour guide (Matt). If you arent interested definitely suggest it to others/visitors who are looking for something new/different to do.

If you don't think you can take the tour before the expiration date, wait for the next Groupon roll out. I paid $22 for two adults on Groupon. Normally it is $23.99 for just one adult. In addition, I bought a family pack for $32 (2 adults + 3 children) as a gift. Normally that goes for $71.99. I posted a photo of their prices. I printed out my Groupon vouchers and brought them along with my guests to Alamo Plaza on Christmas Day 2013. It wasn't long before we saw the bus pull up in front of Menger Hotel. Can't miss it. The bus driver controlled the flow of traffic...halting those waiting to board until all the exiting passengers got off. He was also in control of tickets. I handed over my vouchers. He verified the number of people in my party & printed out the receipts, which I was told to hold on to and show for reboarding. My group of 7 decided to sit on the top deck. (Watch out for tree branches if you sit on the right hand side!) The kids were super excited about sitting in an open bus. We stayed on the the bus for it's entirety. The route took us by Buckhorn Museum, San Fernando Cathedral, Market Square, King William District and Hemisphere Park. Along the way, a taped narrative was played detailing the historical and/or entertaining value of the surrounding buildings, structure and areas. We had planned on hopping off/on at certain areas for the 2nd round so that we could explore more. But the kids got tired/hungry/bored/cold/had to pee/wanted to go home....so that was the end of the tour for us. Overall, I thought the tour was ok. It would have been better if there was a 2nd or maybe 3rd tour guide to help the bus driver and make it more interactive - have a question and answer segment perhaps. Our driver looked like he hated his job and was grumpy as heck. Maybe he didn't want to work on Christmas? Who knows. Plus, there were a surprising number of people who were out & wanting to take the tour. It was too overwhelming for the driver. But dude....it's Christmas. You work in the tourist industry. You want tips. Fake it & bust a smile at least. Is that too much to ask? Anyway, I will most likely have to take this tour again because my husband & I host lots of out of town guests. Hope we have a better experience next time.
