I want to love this place, but I can't. The quality of the food is good but the portion size with the price makes no sense. The place is cute, the staff is nice, they have a lot of seating, even date labels on salsa bottles which I appreciate, but I paid over $7 for a picadillo burrito that's so tiny. Just not worth it.

It has meat (protein), vegetables (salsa and guacamole), and gluten free (corn tortillas ) Eating a taco is good for you!! Testal's tacos are so good! I love how they season and cook their asada and their tortillas don't hurt my stomach, which is a huge win for me!

One of the "best burritos" in town spot! The girls there are so nice and friendly. The food is amazing, I love their burritos and tacos. I am still exploring their menu but so far have not tried something I don't like.

Ate here soon after leaving phoenix airport. We wanted a quick bite that wasn't too pretentious but excellently prepared and found just that! The restaurant is located in a small strip housing an art gallery, a yogurt place, and a coffee shop. It doesn't look like much from the outside but their menu does the talking. It is following food from the northern Mexican region. As a vegetarian, I truly appreciated their vegan menu- I thought the tortillas, which are handmade, wee soft and fresh with beans that had some creamy flavor. Usually refried beans are a mountain of mush, but not here. I had the chilaquiles, with both red and green sauce. The green sauce and the chili oil made from arbol chili was my favorite. My husband had vegan bean burrito and burrito with shredded poblanos- both were excellent. The owner even came by and recommended different items. I was impressed with the friendly atmosphere and the reasonable prices. Definitely worth the drive for a light lunch/brunch. Will be heading back there before leaving from the airport

Tucked away in a cute plaza with ample parking along Grand Avenue. This place was clean and inviting. Convenient electronic menu boards located at the entrance making the ordering process easy. Food was traditional Mexican fare. Chips were salty and had lots of crunch. Burritos were excellent and the carne asada was tender and flavorful. Great visit and the owner was behind the counter. I would return.

Came here for a quick lunch and it was delicious. It's a small place, but there are several indoor tables and a little bar. There's a large mirror on the wall, and some shelves with some Mexican items on them. There is also a patio with a DJ. That could be a lot of fun when it's not so hot outside. You order at the counter and get a beeper to let you know when your food is ready. We had a couple of margaritas, a red chili burrito with potatoes, and carne asada tacos, birria tacos, and carne adovada tacos. All were absolutely delicious! There is a little fridge where you can grab bottles of red and green hot sauce. This is a great little place with great food at great prices. Definitely recommend.

We tried Testal for the first time for lunch on Monday. There are many meat and vegan options. We had the vegan Colorado Burrito, the vegan Chile Relleno Burrito, rice, and beans, Pinole Agua Fresca, and Tamarindo Agua Fresca and each item was a 10 out of 10. The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and delicious. You could taste that the chef really focuses on fresh ingredients, amazing flavor profiles, and quality dishes. Excellent food, service, venue, and location with easy and accessible parking. Thank you -we will be back!!

I just finished getting my tattoo with Ms. Cathy at Kowloon Tattoo in this plaza. I was hungry and this walking distance plus highly recommended! Of course, I love tacos. I told the staff it was my first time here and she said I need to get the Birria tacos (3 Delicious slow-cooked beef stew tacos served with consome). Sold! This place is cute, simple, and enough seating inside and outside. Consome is their "soup" that your beef tacos are dipped in. I could bathe and consome! Yes, it is THAT good. I need to come back for more items to try.

Aside from the thrown-together Vegan Taco, the food offering, prices & atmosphere is nice. A fast-casual concept offering Chihuahuan-style food & drinks - a good presence of Veggie/Vegan options. After you place your order you can sit down in the various areas or watch your food being made in their open kitchen. The enclosed patio is spacious with an outdoor service station & misters/heaters - imagine the latter. We came here around 7:30P on a Friday & saw a DJ set up. The eatery highlights their culture with staple foods & indigenous artwork/decor. I'd be back the next time I'm in town for a sit-down experience.

We came here on a last minute recommendation, it is a smaller space with limited seating. As we walked in we saw this tortilla pocket that looked amazing. We knew right away this was a good idea. We asked about it and the friendly girl at the counter explained it is the Gordita, limited availability. We ordered one. It came out pretty quick and it was amazing. A little spicy but we were able to handle it. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu.

Many of which do not contain additives. I won't lie, I thought I was a big fan until I realized I didn't recognize a lot of the tequilas they had on hand. Downstairs is a whole different vibe. It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

However, after attempting to reach out to the company via their online platform with no response, I feel I have no other choice but to share my experience here in hopes that it will finally be addressed. On April 13th, I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. As I continued to search the menu to eventually order food the bartender had informed me of a special that gave me a bottle of wine for half the price, so I asked him to go ahead and pick a red wine. He delivered the bottle and as I started to enjoy my very first sips of the first pour, I continued to browse the menu to decide what to eat. While browsing, I noticed a roach crawling on the bar top in front of me and making its way around my wine glass and bottle before going back behind the bar where all garnishes are kept. I quietly but immediately alerted the bartender and he asked me what I would like him to do. I told him that I truthfully had no answer as I have never experienced this before but I would give him discretion to do what he thinks is right. He understood and apologized stating that there is recent construction behind the bar and they have been having an issue. He approached the end of the bar where I was sitting and pulled out a can of Raid and sprayed the area where I was and in the direction the roach traveled. This completely ruined the evening, and I asked to close out. The bartender, while polite, asked what he could do to make it right. Being quite frantic and uncomfortable in the moment, I let him know that given the circumstances I would be leaving without ordering food and would not be taking the now untouched bottle of wine. Given that I had a nearly full bottle of wine that I could no longer enjoy due to the environment, I expected the bottle to be comped or something. Instead, I was only credited for the initial single glass and was charged full price for the bottle that I left behind and did not drink. I understand that pest control issues can happen unexpectedly in the industry, which is why I didn't want to make a scene or immediately jump to a negative public review. I wanted to give management the opportunity to address both the handling of the situation (spraying chemical pesticides next to a guest's beverage) and the billing. Sadly, the complete lack of acknowledgement or response to my inquiries over the last four weeks is what brings me here. I had hoped the leadership team would take these matters with more consideration. I truly hope the next guest is able to enjoy their experience more than I did, and that management takes this as an opportunity to improve their communication and protocol.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
