Tessie's is located in the corner of a strip mall with some table seating but probably does most of their business from takeout. Great assortment on the menu from sandwiches to calzones to pizza. Many appetizers to choose from. I had a buffalo chicken sub the tenders were cooked well and the sauce was just spicy enough. The pizza is Greek style, which can be a little greasy. The turkey club comes with a great amount of turkey and crispy bacon and french fries if you're in the area definitely check out Tessie as they have a great assortment and variety of food. read more

First time visit today. Ordered easily online from their website on my smart phone, payed online and picked up. Was inside briefly to pick up the order, but they really seem to be Covid-conscious with masks and screens up between the dining area and the counter. Ordered a pizza, sides, and dinner plates. The pizza has a nice soft texture--almost pastry-like. Sometimes I like a really chewy crust, but their crust is nice and airy and my son really liked it. If you like toppings more than dough, theirs is also great for that reason as other places can be skimpy with topping and you instead get large crusts taking up valuable topping space. They have some unique pizza combos that other places don't, so I look forward to trying them in the future. Portions are BIG. The plates can easily feed two people. I like that they offer pilaf for a rice side compared to just fries. The chicken kabob plate is cooked with mushrooms, peppers, and onions, making them very flavorful. The chicken was moist and not dry as kabobs can often be. Grapeleaves plate was big and delicious, as well. Got a slice of their baklava and it's delicious. Also a more generous portion that most places offer. If you like seasoned fries, you'll be happy here as theirs are great. They almost didn't make it home after the drive. "Just going to try one in the car..." "And another..." "And another..." Our to go order was ready in about 20 mins., which was awesome, and staff super friendly. While in the area visiting, the shop that we 'go to' was closed (regular day off). Our local host suggested Tessi's. They had all the same items we were looking for (calzone, steak sandwiches) which worked out great. First up, the steak sandwich specified some rather particular requests. They did it just as ordered and the recipient said it was a very good sandwich. The small steak is enough for two meals (for our host) and the large was enough for two meals (for my SO). The 'small' calzone is actually quite large. Got three meals out of it. Loaded with cheese and veg. Re-heated in a fry pan, it was tasty every time. They offer delivery, but we went to pick up. The shop is located in the corner spot of a 'strip mall'. The kitchen is much larger than the dining area which had a half dozen tables and during my visit (late lunch, during Covid) was completely empty. They have a TV in the corner facing the dining area. No music was playing and with no people it was quiet in there. The kitchen was fairly busy. They have partitions set up between counter staff and guests, because Covid. They do have to take your card (no scanner available to do it yourself). There is a tip jar on the other side of this partition. I can't remember if they had hand sanitizer available (sorry) but they do have a sign on the door saying masks are required by guests. read more

I have actually been holding off writing this Yelp for quite a while, hoping someone would enjoy this place and write a great review. I have made two visits to Tessi's Pizzeria, both times for dinner takeout. The place is very casual, order at the counter with ample self serve (hard) red booth seating. The menu offerings include thin crust pizza (12 " & 16"), calzones, pasta, seafood, salads, grinders, Mediterranean items, steak tips, fried foods and Coke products from the cooler. The prices are pretty reasonable and several specials are offered here including 2 large cheese pizzas for $15.99 (Sun-Thurs). Last summer. I stopped here to try out the Kibbee Dinner ($8.95), which included fries, salad and Syrian bread. The kibbee was on the dry side. The seasoned golden fries were crispy and decent. The salad was fresh and had iceberg, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, & red onions, good for stuffing into the Syrian bread. The house salad dressing was very good and tangy tasting. Very recently, I wanted to find out if Tessi's Pizzeria made "the best pizza in town." I've been to many pizza places in the area, so I know which pizza places do it right. I've had some pretty good pizza in Salem (3-4 stars), but nothing really outstanding (5 stars) to date. I stopped in and ordered a large 16" Eggplant Pizza ($9.90), which had a very crispy crust on the bottom and along the slightly thick edges (slight sweet taste), a good sauce, but minimal cheese and breaded eggplant. The pizza was overall pretty decent, not bad. My quest for the best pizza in the area will keep marching on. I've never been so disgusted with food before. I ordered a small turkey sub with bacon and mozzarella sticks, they forgot my bacon and my mozzarella sticks were still cold in the middle and not cooked through at ALL. My boyfriend got a junior roast beef and the beef openers it up and it was BROWN AND GREEN, sliced too thick, and the bun was a mess. I wouldn't even feed that to pigs if I owned any, I would never go back and I would not recommend this place to anyone read more

Guy that took the phone order was a bit curt, but hey, whatever. The pizza was good. Not sure if it is the best in town, that is debatable. Ordered online through Slice, didn't realize I was getting charged more! Showed up when the online site said it would be ready and the pizzas weren't even in the oven yet. The pizza crust was frozen, Greek style crust....not my favorite....but the sauce and cheese tasted great! Asked for jalapeños on the side of the hot Buffalo pizza and they still put them on. i have ordered there many times as it is the only place close to me and never an issue. the online menu prices totally different from actual. ordered 3 items, 32.87 per online, +tax = $35.84. "free delivery"..... actual cost was 39 25, +tax = 42.78 plus $2 delivery fee =$44.78. I understand times are hard but change your online menu so people don't think they're getting screwed. I went into the store to show them the difference they just said that they would contactt whoever does their site. poor customer service!! usually the food is pretty good but this was absolutely terrible; grease was so bad on the pizza it went through the paper and soaked the box. calzone was so dry there was no saving it. we threw the calzone away as well as most of the pizza. Ordered chicken fingers as well because the menu said "homemade". nope, EXACT same ones you get at Wayback Burgers. Let me start off by saying we were long time customers of Tessies and used to love it very much...until their food prices soared up while other local pizza shops have not so we really feel it's just insane price gouging! Last night ordered just 2 steak bomb subs...over 30.00!!! We were told there is now a 3.00 delivery fee in which the owner keeps so the actual delivery drivers don't even see it according to the driver! Not too happy that my usual 6 to 7 dollar tip is now just a 3 to 4 dollar tip for the poor drivers who are actually paying for the high price of gas to bring us our food!!! Not right at all! Love their pizza! Its thicker than most, and packed with toppings. I only order about once a month, but it's always great. I have had issues with delivery. Tessi's...my new found favorite restaurant. I have gone at least six times before reviewing and let me tell you...every single time, my food has been perfect. The pizza is to die for and their prices are just incredible. It is a very casual sub shop type of place but their menu is huge!!! The staff are very accommodating and every time have brought my food out to the table & even brought over cups of water to the table. They sell big cookies for .50 which my kids love...and they have a couple of arcade type games that are fun to play on. Doesn't look like much on the inside but trust me when I tell you, the food, staff & overall atmosphere is just incredible. Great job Tessi's!! I will start with the fact the food was good and the attitudes of the staff were decent enough but they did nothing to try and "make better" a pretty bad situation. "Free appetizer" coupon goes a long way, not that I would have used it. Tried them for the second time ever - honestly don't remember much of the first which says something but not horrible. Ordered a pick up a little before 5pm - salad and chicken salad sub. Was told 15 mins, husband went about 15-20 mins later and had to wait about 20 mins. Fine, turned out to be a very hot day so no one wants to cook, I get it. As soon as he gets home, I notice the salad is wrong. Right Asian dressing but olives, peppers, feta and iceberg rather than almonds, spring mix, and tangerines. I call back at 5:50 and ask them to deliver my corrected salad - she said it would be an hour due to the busy time. I thought maybe they'd move me to the top of the list to save my business, but I agreed. I reminded her my order - reminded her again to hold the tortilla strips. 90 mins later I called to check in - salad ready but no driver, they're busy. 120 mins later I called to check in with, let's call it, annoyance, in my voice. They said it was about to leave - I confirmed they had remade it yet again to not have 120-minute old chicken. 15 mins later it was delivered - just handed over to my husband - no apology on the phone any of my check ins nor in person. No store credit. No free soda for my troubles. No coupon for next time. Oh... and by the way, thanks for the (soggy) tortilla strips. Good thing I didn't want them anyway and had asked (twice) for them to not be included. We'll never go back as there are so many options, but tread lightly on busy days. I understand unexpected busy times and short staffed - but refuse new orders until you can catch up. First and last time ordering from here. The food was awful and cold when delivered. When i called back to let them know, i was told by the young woman who answered the phone that a replacement would be sent. After 40 minutes I called and was informed that they were not sending a replacement because that is how the food would be again when I got it. Tried this spot for the first time last week; I'm very particular about my roast beef sandwiches and my last "go to" for roast beef has gone down hill so I was looking for a new local place with good roast beef. I was NOT disappointed, it wasn't "good" it was "great". First delivery took forever, the chicken tenders were flat like paper and very dry. Ordered a Jr. roast beef from Tessi's after having gotten one in the past (July of 2020) my first two experiences were great and I had given them a 5 star review in the past. I'm not sure if they're under new management now, but the quality of the roast beef was horrible. This location is less than 5 miles away from my house. I have had many problems over the years but figured it was time to give them another go. I ordered 2 subs and an order of French fries. I was told the order would arrive in about 45 minutes. Cool no, problem. Order comes 1 hour and 10 minutes later. I pay the delivery driver and tip him. Open up the bag: French fries barely warm. Subs kinda warm. It's clear that my food order took a ride around town while other deliveries were made. I called tessi's to let them know. They said "next time let them know and the fries would be free" yup, can't make this stuff up. Needless to say, there will not be a next time so if you want free fries say it was you and you'll be good to go with cold food. Not worth the hassle, nor do they seem to have any of the customer service skills necessary to be in the service industry. No matter how close they are I will NEVER order from them again.
