Ordered DoorDash with instructions to hand the order to us at the front door. The Dasher left the food at the garage and took off. It was the wrong order. Went through DoorDash asked for everything to be re-delivered said it would be an hour. The food obviously was not picked up originally and had been sitting at grand finale the whole time they realized it gave the new DoorDash, our old food. I called them to let them know. The pizzas were cold. Nothing was remade and they basically denied it telling me this food was made fresh as if I don't know what a cold pizza is. First visit to Granfanally's and definitely not my last. Easy parking, easy counter ordering, relaxed atmosphere, very solid beer selection, and the option of slices to make pizza variety easier. Not only that, but they have a pretty solid burger in addition to the pizza that they're more known for. Important thing to point out: their slices aren't a quarter pie, which is a good thing. Even more opportunity for variety. Pepperoni Slice: Tasty crust with a little droop, and the perfect cheese-to-tomato ratio (read: not drowning in an excess of cheese). The pepperoni discs were solid but not noteworthy. Good eats. Would happily order a whole pie of this. Sicilian Slice: Shared one, because this is filling. Decent amount of fluffiness, not too dense, and a spongy texture. Heavier cheese-to-tomato ratio. Enjoyable, but I like the classic pizza better. Caramelized Onion Burger: A double smashburger (what ISN'T these days?) with decent outer crispness, very good inner texture, and decent juiciness, even without being able to order to temperature. Good flavor. Lettuce and tomato also included. Not crazy about the bulkie roll style bun, but it was soft and held everything in without getting in the way. Very enjoyable, especially for a place not known for its burgers. I'd come back for this too. Fries: Plenty of them, and with great texture, plenty of seasoning (a little Cajun in there along with the salt) and a good amount of skin. Good visit. Friendly counter staff and bartender. They have various special deals on different days of the week for pizza and beer, so I'll be back to try those. This one is the quintessential 4 stars. Had NOT ben to Granfanallys since about a month after they first opened...so thought it would be good to give it another try. Was not impressed when they first opened, STILL NOT impressed. Okay, we've had a few amazing experiences here lately, so it was time for an updated review for sure. The wings are amazing. We love the ones with everything on them. (Triple Threat?) We've had a few different kinds, and all of them have been perfect. The pizza every single time has been fantastic. The crust is so good, it's not greasy or soggy, and it tastes fresh and really perfect. The burgers and fries are really very good. The mozzarella sticks, though I could do without the stuff they sprinkle on top of them, are perfect. We've dined in and we've taken out. The dining in experience can be a bit loud, with a bustling bar and large parties of children and adults seated at tables, three or four tvs with all different sports going on, and music playing, but it smells so darned good in there, but you have to be in the mood for a crowd if you dine in during a busy time. When you do, the food is hot and fresh, and the beer for those who drink seems nice and cold. Pizza and beer. (Or no beer.) How excellent. read more

I had the 3 little pigs burger (pulled pork, bacon, sausage on a cheeseburger) and it was great, a good combination on a nice sized burger. My wife had a calzone which was huge, we'll probably get 2-3 meals out of it. Order at the front and find a table and they bring you the meal when it's ready. My friend and I went to this place after going to Canobie Lake. We were torn between here and Salem House of Pizza. The way to order here is less traditional where you go up to a counter to order, then you can sit down and they will bring it to your table. I was very tempted to try their garlic knot pizza but I thought it might be overwhelming so I went with their white pizza with sausage. They do offer indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to go with outdoor seating just because the inside was a bit too dark, and it was perfectly warm outside. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come out. When it did, it was fresh out of the oven, but it was not piping hot, so I think they were nice enough to let it cool down a bit. Presentation was great. The amount of ricotta was perfect - I sometimes find some places will put blobs that are too big, but I liked the amount here. The sausage was a bit underwhelming. I thought it would be a bit spicy and meaty but it was a mellow sausage flavor (it might be because it was thin slices rather than chunks of sausage). The thinness of the pizza allowed the flavor of the toppings to pop. We ordered our pizza a medium size, but it was bigger than we expected so in terms of cost to value, it's a great deal. read more

This was by far the worst pizza place I've ever been to. I waited in my car for an hour, only to go inside and be told that they had just now started preparing my online pickup order. At that point, I decided to eat inside since I had already waited so long. After being seated, they placed me next to a pile of dirty dishes in plain sight, which gave the restaurant a nasty and sloppy appearance. When I ordered a fountain drink, they charged me $2.50 for a party cup--absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing for this place. The pizza had no flavor, and to make matters worse, they messed up my order. This was by far the worst pizza spot I've ever been to. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you want to pay for overpriced, terrible pizza while sitting next to dirty dishes. read more

That other place with the red and white boxes,.....FAR more flavorful and trustworthy than this place. We walked in a sticky mess on the floor that looked as though it was there for hours. The pizza bread was flavorless , bland, and had a Chewey consistency. The sauce was bland, the cheese was generic and of an odd consistency. The toppings were clearly out of a can, nothing fresh! Appears to be under New ownership, we were told: "We have a new environmentally friendly oven, out back." Advised them to return to their older equipment, because something is different. Ordered 3 take out pizzas. All were bonded to the cardboard boxes. Crust was dry, and chewy. Had a bite similar to oil soaked cold garlic bread. Without any flavor. Centers were under-cooked and clearly wet. Toppings were sparse and not what they used to be. They have substituted fresh tomato slices to some kind of canned product, onions used to be fresh whole onion slices, now they are from a food processor, flavorless and bland, and sparse. Our in house order wasn't what we ordered, had to send it back,...they tried to comp us with the mistake pizza for free, we refused, the replacement took about 35 minutes to arrive, seemed intentional. Clearly they have gone from a flavorful dough / crust to some kind of pre-prepared or similar pizza dough, the change is extremely noticeable. As well as the new flavorless cheese blend, not the same drippy motz that they served for years. We were told new owners in August 2025, and they have hundreds of new reviews all fabricated. Pizza was not cooked in the center. When we told our server about the issue, she responded with "we have new oven." We responded with "take it back," they replaced it in about 30 minutes. We were told they are under new ownership. We couldn't find the toppings we ordered on the second attempt. The pizza crust was soft and very, very flavorless. The cheese was not hot or drippy mozzarella as we were told, but Chewey and again flavorless. Had that funky waxy thing going on. Our "neighbors" told us that this isn't the same quality they were used too, and they won't be back. They told us stories of a great flavorful dough, lots of crunchy bubbles and a great selection of whole vegetable toppings, this what we were served was toppings from a food chopper, small, no taste, and very expensive for what they got! They told us of an earthy, whole grain type of flavor, this was more like dry, stale, icchy, sunbeam bread. We couldn't believe the fact that we couldn't taste the toppings. We asked if they were under new management, and our server refused to answer. We did not take a doggy bag. Absolutely fantastic food! If you like beer they have 33 on tap, great wine and yummy sangria. Pizza was as good as anything I've had anywhere in Boston or outside of the city. Atmosphere was welcoming and staff was honestly lovely. Our bartender June answered all of our questions, was efficient, friendly and fun. What a disaster! Went in for a Friday night...place was packed...good sign...no space to sit so we decided to order take out. Simple order ...a calzone and salad. So many staff ( I counted 10) many standing around) and our order took forever.... Had a chicken parm calzone......It had riccota and mozzarella cheese..which made it soggy and unappealing.. The crust was super tough...even hard to cut it with a knife. The little bit of chicken inside was thick, tough, and tasteless. The salad had the inorrect dressing.... Finally able to make the trip north to Salem NH for a visit to Granfanallys. I have heard alot about this location so I was looking forward to checking it out. I traveled with my family. Upon entry, it was a bit confusing since you need to order before sitting down and you need to move to the bar to get a beer. These are two seperate transactions. Not a big deal.....but there was not a ton of direction fo first timers, like me! We were able to get a table for four to wait for our food. We ordered a sicilian pizza, chicken parm sub and some wings. Wednesday is 75cent Wing night so we ordered a bunch. The food took a bit of time to come out but that was understandable as it was very busy. The staff was working hard to get the food out as the crowd got bigger and bigger. When the food came out, we were all surprised at how awesome the pizza looked (see pic). The taste was as good as the look! We were all happy with how the pizza came out. The chicken parm sub was rated as "delicious" by my daughter and the wings (spicy and BBQ) were excellent! All of the food was delivered at the same time and we were all able to eat together! I liked the vibe of this place! It would be a great place to spend a NFL Sunday or college football Saturday! Special shout-out to the young wait staff who hustled to keep everyone happy and fed! Got order to go as we were going to have a picnic and enjoy the weather. Asked for utensils, plates and napkins. We were told they were in the bag, they weren't. Full size ceasar salad no dressing. Buffalo chicken calzone, not cut, which was a problem since we had no utensils. There was no ricotta in the calzone and the shredded mozzerella was not even melted. We were told the blue cheese dressing was in the box, it was not. The Buffalo sauce had a wierd flavor to it and very little chicken. All in all an epic fail. read more

This is after their app says the order is ready. Then they cop an attitude like it's the customer's fault. Rework memu. It was little difficult to understand what was what when you you walk in and have to stand there figuring it out. Bar service sucks for seated food patrons. We had two bites and threw it out. Please, take it easy on the garlic oil. The restaurant was pleasantly casual but no one knew where the food went. We had to flag down our server so they knew it was our order. When it was time to pay, no one could find our tab. It would be better if there was some organisation at the register. read more

I've always wanted to try their garlic knot pizza so we ordered one to go for dinner. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was a bit lackluster. I thought the garlic knot was twisted into the crust but it just sits on top of it. Pizza was good but probably won't order this particular one unless I was eating in. Fries were undercooked and soft by the time we completed our 10 min ride home. I get it, take out can be tough but steam in a styrofoam container makes for soggy fries. A paper bag would have been better so you can air out the steam. Again, probably better to eat in. read more

I have been wanting to try this place since 2017, when I first saw it when commuting between Manchester and Salem. I finally had the chance to take my kids here, and we all loved it! The variety of pizza and the beer selection was enough to make me want to go back. for those who like Buffalo Chicken pizza, would love their version since they (as it should be) use Buffalo sauce as the base. I really enjoy a good Sicilian. Granfanally's has a pretty decent selection of toppings. We had the Mascarpone Sicilian and it was pretty good. I love big focaccia type crust but this crust was dense and thick. Even the cinnamon rolls knots were really thick breaded. Such an interesting thing for desserts. The chef salad was great. My family made our first visit here based on reviews. You need to place your order at the counter and seat yourself which is fine but there's no good place to stand and look at the menu if you don't know what they have. I felt like we were in the way and counter help was not very friendly. We received our food in a timely manner but everything was burned! Our kids each got grilled cheese and fries. Not impressed. Let me start by saying that the Service (Bartender in particular) was excellent. The food that I experienced was marginal at best. I had a Cajun Bacon Burger. It had no actual Cajun Flavor. Just an over abundance of salt on a super greasy bun. The French Fries were cold and rubbery. I had to send them back. They were brought back hot and rubbery. There seems to be an issue with preparing crispy fries. I thought this was a basic culinary "skill" but apparently it is more challenging than I realized. Maybe that's why McDonald's and Wendy's are paying so well? But; nobody had time to check on the quality the second time around so they went to waste. I also sampled the Cheese Pizza which to me was lackluster, at best. I didn't care for the Tomato Sauce (obviously a matter of personal preference) and the Cheese and Crust were nothing memorable. Beer prices and selection are good but I did notice that Granfanallys reuses their Beer Glasses, rather than providing a CLEAN, frosted glass for each beer. This is both unappealing AND unsanitary as the used glassware surely comes in contact with the beer tap (cross contamination). The Bartenders seem to have been trained (?) to "rinse" the used glassware by adding/dumping a few ounces of beer, before refilling the glass. John Tapper from Bar Rescue sure would not approve. There was also someone 'pimping' some of the apparently less popular beers with the promise of a complimentary beer glass. The beer that I had (Shipyard Discovery IPA) was not good and tasted nothing like what is described on the Brewer's website. It had an overwhelming taste of Grapefruit that doesn't belong anywhere near a beer glass. I'm wondering if it was either not the correct brew OR it if it had gone spoiled. The complimentary glass was not provided along with the beer and was only given to me after I requested one. The Bartender proceeded to ask another bar patron for their glass which they then handed to me. SMDH. I passed on the next offer of a Blueberry Beer. UGH. Not recommended. Again, not impressed with the food quality/preparation and beverages and will not be back. read more
