I went to Amore Pizza for the first time today and had the BEST meatball calzone ever! The dough is soft and stuffed with delicious meatballs, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. I like that the sauce is served on the side so it does not get the calzone soggy. I was surprised to see the case of desserts. In talking with the owner, who is just as nice as all the other reviews say, she informed me she makes all of them herself using the best ingredients. I got a raspberry bar and it was scrumptious! This family pizza shop is very good. They offer a bunch of homemade items you don't usually find. All types of desserts beyond the standard baklava. She bakes them almost every night. Amore Pizza is tucked away in a "strip plaza" with the gas station, across the road from Wicked Cheesy Pizza. The menu offers pizza, salads, pizza calzones, strombolis, hot & cold subs, pasta dinners, chicken fingers, kabobs, rice combo, baklava, sweet chips, & bottled Coke products. The prices are reasonable, most items under $10. Daily specials are posted. I went here on a chilly moonlit Sunday evening for takeout. When I got here, the place was busy. A large group of track team members were already seated at several tables enjoying their pizzas and salads. I ordered a small cheese pizza ($6.95) and a lasagna dinner ($7.95) served with salad and baked garlic bread. The food was ready in 15 minutes. The owner (an older gent) constantly had a big infectious smile. The NY style pizza tasted pretty good hot out of the oven, a nice thin soft crust (thick along the edges with some air bubbles, browned) and lots of cheese and sauce. The lasagna was very good and very filling, had firm layers of noodles, sauce cheeses, and meat. The side salad was decent and the garlic bread with buttery. Overall, 3.75 stars. read more

Their salads? Some of the BEST I've had when it comes to take out. The amore salad was a perfect portion with the freshest veggies. The creamy Italian is better than the house Italian. Fries are steak fries (nothing special). The chicken on the salad is perfectly seasoned although, I'd get extra next time. I will absolutely be getting this salad on many occasions. This place is my favorite Italian eatery, in the Salem, NH area. Their pizza brings me back to my youth when I'd go to Haymarket Square in Boston. Amore's pizza is authentic . The sauce is just right. Oh and the cheese is sooo delicious, and I can't forget the thin, and crispy crust. Last but not least, the owners are the cutest, most warm and loving people I've ever meet . They're my main reason for returning to their place of business. Crap. Went in here a few weeks ago and was ordering something when old owner came over and got involved in the transaction for some reason? I ordered a SMALL steak and cheese, and was charged like $15 for that plus chips and a drink! This miscommunication was a result of the owner's awful English language skills, and by his fussy, standoffish attitude. Again, there was no reason for him to take over the transaction from the cashier. Also, the sandwich was enormous, and the meat on it was like dried up old shoe leather. Bun was cracked and stale. Unfortunately, I have to give this place 1 star. Came here day after Memorial Day, 5/28/19 about 11am. I wanted to try a slice of meat pie. From other Yelp reviews, it looked good. I was welcomed by an older couple. I'm guessing the owners? The older gentleman said, due to it being the day after they had been closed & nobody had ordered any pies. Nothing was made yet.
