There's a stand-up, young, gentleman by the name of Joshua that served me today. This young man couldn't have given me a better experience. Honestly. He engaged me in some conversation, made sure I got the slices I liked, and I really enjoyed him. The guy deserves a raise for his hard-work, working 7 days, raising a family, and getting it done! Pizza here reminds me a bit of the "almost pizza" sketch from SNL a few years back with Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. Mom: It's very nearly pizza, but not quite. It's Almost Pizza. See? I accidentally ordered from the Salem location instead of Haverhill, but that was my fault. Ha ha ha. I've been to both and this is my Haverhill experience. Anyway, if you know what NH beach pizza is, the you know about the Tripoli vs Cristy's rivalry. Cue in NH Beach Pizza and you've got a third, conveniently located option and YES it's delicious!!! Sweet sauce, just enough cheese, not too thin or thick crust...yum. They also have a variety of other things like meat pies etc. The best part really is having a learning disability that affects your judgement of sizes so trying to figure out how to get the elongated box through the door is always fun. It's better not to think of the pizza here as pizza at all, but as it's own unique thing. It's kind of like the so-called tomato pie a colleague brought back from Jersey. It's sweet with an intensely concentrated tomato flavor - and just a bare dusting of cheese. I guess it's a fish popular on the N.H. beaches but I've never had it there. Expand your horizons and try a slice - at only $1.90 you can't go wrong. But don't stop there. You Must Try The Meatball mini calzone. Actually I'm not really sure what they're called. I just point and grunt and hard over a couple bucks and get back a large meatball wrapped in cheese then pizza dough and baked until golden brown delicious. Absolutely heavenly. $1.50 each. Tastes exactly like regular beach pizza. People say it's too sweet, but that's literally how beach pizza is supposed to be. I've enjoyed this place for many years, but just a tip: the Haverhill one seems to be better than the Salem one. I don't really like regular pizza so sweet sauce pizza is my go to and their pizza is my favorite! That have some good cake and cookies and brownies, and baklava too. Ok so, it's beach pizza. Annnd there mayyy be more of a nostalgia or novelty to it in general, than it being some remarkable gift to the culinary world. Thin square crust, sweet sauce, and a slice of provolone (which is "extra cheese" and a MUST) and you've got beach pizza. Yes, I do really love it and have some weird attachment to it too, but I'm not crazy picky about it either. And this is a convenient place to get it in the winter. NH Beach Pizza is small, and is mostly just a counter to order and a station to cover your pizza in garlic powder. I forget if I got there after 8 or 9pm, but their kitchen was closed and they were only re-heating pizza and what was in the case. So I got 2 slices of extra cheese. I considered getting a meat pie or calzone too because they were straight up teasing me in the case, but I miraculously resisted. The slices came up hot and fast from the oven, and I think they were pretty good! The crust was crispy and held up to the sauce which was not TOO sweet. I was satisfied and most likely stop by again when I'm home. And I will probably go HAM on a calzone next time too. read more

Expensive to boot, 2 bucks a slice seems like a deal but after adding Roni and cheese it's like 3 bucks with the tax and you need to order two to equal one slice of regular pizza. & $38 bucks for a full box?! I'm NOT a big fan of "downtown" Haverhill, but hubby wanted to try "Beach Pizza" @ 181Merrimack ST. I'll admit that the pizza and fries were delicious. But the "getting there" and the service rots!!! Thank heavens that there are a few designated parking spots for their location! That made it a little less offensive. We got there around 5:45. Only 2 people working there. The woman taking the order was a bit "cold" (contrary to the seating area, which was NOT air conditioned!). When my husband picked up the "eat in" (mistake) order she told him that the ketsup for our fries was in the bag with the frries. (NOT!). Several waiting minutes later ....standing at the "order" window, I got a replacement for the MIA ketsup. Lesson learned. "IF" we ever order from them again it will be TAKE OUT only! read more

Beach pizza has some of the best pizza I have ever had. I highly recommend this place. I had the issue of being full, but wanted to keep eating because it was so delicious. It's beach pizza without having to go to the beach. Same overpriced pizza, same crappy service. I called in last night for a tray of pizza and they quoted me 20-25 mins, pretty average wait time, not to bad. I go in and they haven't even put my order in yet! So I had to wait around for another 10-15 mins. Ringing up to a whopping total of $28 before tax, the size of the pizza box it looks intimidating. But when you actually compare it to a regular large pizza box, there's really not too much more pizza to it. If you really want beach pizza, save the novelty for the beach. read more

Should I treat this as a PIZZA review, or a review specific to BEACH PIZZA? We'll combine.. First off, if you've never had beach pizza its probably because you've never been to a beach town in New England. Its not "pizza" though. Its just a giant square of forgettable crust, sweetish sauce and a limited choice of toppings. Typically only comes by the slice, but sometimes you can order a whole tray to go, which this place does if you really love this stuff. This brand of beach pizza isn't the worst beach pizza i've had, but its certainly not the best. The provolone they can add to a slice is actually a nice touch. But your options are so limited here. If you absolutely love this style of pizza, try Tripoli Bakery (Lawrence, N Andover, and I think Salisbury). But if you want, you know, actual pizza, you can get a half decent slice at Andinos or a nice specialty pie at Kreuger. They have cannolis, which I didn't try, and they sell Wise chips, which are the second worst kind of chip ever (Utz are the worst). Overall, not my favorite experience. read more

As the person above me stated. The pizza is as good as the stuff you get at the beach at best as well as over priced. I had about the same experience as the person above me with ordering as well. Called for 12 slices and was told 20 minutes. Gave them a half an hour to be safe. When I get there my pizza wasn't even in the over yet. Owner (or manger) tells me it's gonna be 4 minutes as if that even seemed possible. 10 minutes later my pizza still isn't ready, so I voiced my disapproval over the completely unnecessary wait and all he offers me is excuses and attitude. I thought this pizza was pretty good but I agree with other Yelpers that say if you don't order extra cheese, you don't get any cheese! And the "extra cheese" is a slice of provolone laid on top. What cant be said about this place? Great pizza plain and simple. Catering to all the white folk who grew up on tripoli but dont wanna risk their lives entering the shithole ghetto known as LAWTOWN. Never had bad pizza out of this joint, and order from here about once a month. I notice their dough is constantly changing, as if they play with their recipe for dough consistency often. I think they do a great job. Very casual seating inside and outside. Calzones have caught my eye recently, and the cannolis are pretty decent. Would reccomend this spot to anyond. I come from a small beach town where we have a few pizza joints like this. The crust here in Haverhill is very very good the sauce is not as sweet as most places. But sweet sauce is beach pizza... There prices are the same as at the beach whre I live... Overall I really like there pizza and I have it once a month while im down here. read more

It won't knock your socks off but, it's good pizza overall and the prices are very fair. Order a slice with extra cheese. The added slice of provolone is great. It's a nice addition to downtown Haverhill, since it reminds me of summers spent at the beach, and it's convenient. Hopefully it sticks around for winter. read more

Napoli is way better for sure. I love what I call beach style pizza but Napoli is like a step above. It is one of the best pizza available in my opinion. Great pizza, even better after you smoked a blunt. The most recent time I went the crust was crunchy which is a better alternative to their usual softer crust. Whoever leaves the pizza in for a longer time to make that crust crunchy, you did good! It's very similar to Tripoli's and Christie's pizza, but I honestly can't tell the difference.
