What the hell happened to this pizza! I grew up in Haverhill moved into New Hampshire yet I would drive back just to get a couple of slices of pizza every so often. Easter weekend had my daughter up visiting figured we'd stop by and have some of the great pizza we had over the years. Except this time it was this thin hard way too little sauce and cheese cracker hard crust with some tomato sauce on it. If you're thinking about going there think again. I really wish I took a picture of the food because I was actually shocked. We got two types of pizza: one that was just cheese and another that had peppers and onions. Sliced of the peppers and onions pizza were mixed into the same box as the one with cheese. I was confused by that because there was a lot of room in each "tray size" box that weren't even the same size. The pizza was cold and the best way I can describe it was that it was just bread covered in marinara sauce and parmesan cheese. I was trying to think what it reminded me of and then it hit me... We were looking for Meat Pie a few weeks ago since our favorite meat pie establishment (Pizza King in Lawrence) closed, and saw Napoli's offered it. I know there is a Napoli's in Lawrence, so thought this was the same, but in a different location. We decided to get some pizza as well, thinking it was the same as the pizza we had at the Lawrence location. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Brought the pizza into the car, and I immediately said "what is that smell"? It did not smell like any pizza we have ever had! I looked into the box, and there was pizza in there alright. With Parmesan Cheese...the style you shake out of a jar, and it looked orange! It looked really disgusting and smelled even worse. Then I looked into the bag with the meat pies. The meat pies were $4.00 each, are were a tiny piece about 5" deep, about the size of a piece of fruit pie. The filling looked really disgusting, (see pictures) was mushy and really tasted awful. Amazing pizza! Went with the traditional style and and the Meat Lovers....both were perfect. If you are into an old school tray style pizza then the traditional is a MUST try. I just picked up a sheet of Napoli Pizza, I have to be honest, I was not crazy about it. I grew up in Haverhill and would cash in soda bottles to get one delicious slice their Pizza. I found the crust to be much thinner and tough to chew. The nice out side crunch was not there or inner softness of the dough was not either. Could have had a litter more sauce on it, it was very dry. Hopefully my review will help this new owner take my comments into consideration for changing it back to the Original recipe. Also the price could stand to be lowered to maybe $28.00 for a sheet... just my thoughts! Best of luck! read more

Heart broken. I am simply heart broken. The most simple unique pizza around and the only pizza I had ever craved. Thin airy crust, sweet sauce and coated in Parm cheese... it was a love affair. This last half tray I ordered from the new management was not the pizza I loved, the crust was flat and over cooked, the sauce was so dense and almost no cheese. I mistakenly assumed that this Napolis was the same as the original (and greatest) pizzeria of the same name that i grew up near in Lawrence. Unfortunately it wasn't even close. I was very disappointed that they were skinny slices (not the foccacia type of bread like the original) and just had this Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top instead of real melted cheese. Also, the meatpie was not the same. Much smaller and more expensive slices. The ground meat had the texture of being ground in a blender, not the healthy chunks of meat with onion and mushrooms. My mistake for assuming it was the same recipe. We ate it since it was very expensive (almost 50.00 for pizza and 4 meatpie slices) but didn't enjoy it at all. read more

I drove up from Waltham to try Napoli's pizza, and I had to watch a hockey game, but that is irrelevant. I knew I would like the place when I saw the sign that said closes at 7, or SELL OUT. I went to the counter and was greeted by a nice guy who I later found out was the owner. Told him I wanted half a tray of pizza and that I wanted it the way he would recommend. He told me grated cheese is the way to go, been doing it that way here for 70(?) years so I obliged. I had a great conversion with the owner. We talked about other restaurants near Waltham that he had been to and we talked Haverhill food too. At this point I would come back just to talk food with this guy. So now the pizza. The crust is thin and cooked to perfection. The sauce was sweet and delicious. The sauce was even spread across the whole pizza and it worked perfectly with the crust. Grated cheese alone as a topping was something I had never had before. I enjoyed the first slice, rectangle not square or triangle, but I didn't enjoy the next 3 as much. Yes I ate 4 so it wasn't bad, it just isn't my thing. When I go back I will get a half sheet, half grated half with mozzarella. This is one of the friendliest pizza places I have ever been and I can't wait to go back. read more

I Love Napoli's...That's what the T-shirt said. But buy a T-shirt in the wrong size - forget about it! Don't buy it as a gift - if it's the wrong size it's non-returnable. If you make a mistake - it's non-returnable . Come on - it's your customers Chad, he states he does not have a retails store - well you do sell shirts, Chad. You do resell soda, Chad. You do resell chips, Chad! Chad says you should hold it up before you buy. Yet, he has never had a return, so the exchange of a larger size apparently will break the bank. So end result, i gave him the shirt back, walked out and will never buy a pizza again. Chad is stubborn and believes he is right. I on the the other hand would have said maybe the next time you buy a pizza i will exchange it. Maybe another one at half price ? again could of offered alternative solutions, Chad! Chad - The shirt was never worn and I still have the bag was given in. Maybe you should tag them if you think your customers would spend their free time trying to return worn shirts to Napoli's. You are cocky and arrogant, as you still have no interest in making a customer happy, but rather fight over the term resell. Napoli's is a special pizza. I have to reiterate the previous reviewer and say this is the BEST PIZZA in Haverhill. I'd expand that to this one of the top 5 best pizzas in the country. This is great stuff. Almost every time, I come to Haverhill (my hometown), I have to stop and get a tray. A few notes to keep in mind: * Call Ahead - especially around the holidays. These guys close when they run out of pizza and they always run out. They will let you pre-order though. Do not expect them to be open normal hours. * The sprinkle cheese pizza is the original and best. * A tray is very large. One tray should easily fill a family. The consistency of their pizza best is the best in the Haverhill area. I LOVE everything about it! the cheese, the sweet sauce, the dough. I wish they were open every day and late hours. Great spot! I was very impressed with the gentleman who answered the phone. He could tell I was not familiar with the menu and he walked me thru it. I went with a "1/2 sheet" of cheese and it was more than enough for two adults and two kids. Only $12 bucks!! I asked if they would be willing to deliver the food to my car because I had two kids fast asleep in the back seat. They had no problem doing so. There was ample parking as well, which is rare in downtown Haverhill. I highly recommend this place! We will be back. read more

This pizza rocks! I grew up in Haverhill and loved getting pizza from Napoli's on a regular basis. It's different from any other pizza you've had before. If you are in the area, you've got to try it. I just order a few plain slices, as is with the grated cheese. My mouth is literally watering just thinking about it. As others mentioned, call ahead to place your order. I would even do it for just a few slices. Sometimes they sell out, so you want to make sure they still have some before you go over. I only have two negative points. 1) They should be open 24/7. 2) They should franchise this place so I could get good pizza out here on the West Coast :) PS This isn't a fancy joint and it's crazy small, maybe 5 people could stand in there. You just get in, get your slices and get out. There's no place to sit and eat. The car will do just fine. Also, I think it's cash only so be sure to hit up the ATM before you go! read more

This is square-shaped, flat-ish crusted pizza with a very different style sauce that is no doubt, the best sauce. You can get the pizza with shaken parmisan on it-- I highly recommend doing this. I love Napoli's! The pizza is always hot and fresh, never any mistakes with our order. The place is small and when it's crowded you can barely fit everyone in there, but it's worth it. Tonight was our family's first night trying Napoli's pizza. We got have their traditional with the grated cheese and half with mozzarella. The sauce is savory not sweet. (which was delicious) and the pizza tasted amazing! The grated cheese was SO good We prefer it to standard mozzarella. We will be back again. Went there today to get a slice. The dirty looking red headed bearded man working in the kitchen gave my friend and I a hostile look and said "What do you want" then said they didn't have slices. No one was there so it looked like a front for something else. Pizza looked spongy and customer service was piss poor.
