This Tesla charging station is located at the San Clemente Outlets, south of the 5 freeway, off of the Avenida Pico exit. All of the stalls are at the southside of the parking structure. They have a lot of charging stalls at this location, so the chances of needing to wait for a charge is pretty low. I only stopped for a quick 10 minute charge as the onboard navigation didn't think that it had enough charge to make it all the way home. The charging speed was good as the battery was pre-conditioned and nowhere near being fully charged when I arrived. read more

Stopped here on the way to SD from LA. Lots of stalls and fast charging. Happened to come on a Saturday morning and there was a cars and coffee if you are interested some nice cars! Went thru the parking structure to avoid looping around the top side. Otherwise, nice spot for shopping and food. We went through the outlet parking garage structure to find the chargers lined up outside behind it. There were 20 chargers that charged up to 150 kilowatts. We came pretty late, so there were only 3 other teslas here and almost everything was closed. But I'm sure it's definitely a nice place to charge if you want to shop, eat a bit, or grab some starbucks as you wait. read more

This Supercharger is the best in South Orange County and also probably the best you will find in at least a 75-mi radius. With 21 charging stations, it can accommodate a lot of Teslas that are looking to power up. It also seems to be well equipped to handle a large load, unlike some stations which will cut your kilowatt flow when they are under high usage. The location is convenient and out of the way, in the very back of the San Clemente Outlets parking lot. You won't see much traffic driving around other than other Teslas, which can be kind of cool. At the right time of day, this location is pretty empty and you won't have much trouble finding a spot to charge. It does seem to be getting more popular later in the evening when people come to charge up for the next day. I haven't really been many other times of day so I can't comment then, but checking the map there is usually always a few people there. If you come when the Outlets are open, it's not a far walk from the chargers to all the different stores. So it's pretty easy to pass the time. There is also a nearby Starbucks, Ruby's, and a few other restaurants if you are looking for something to eat. Five stars on the Supercharger scale! read more

Wow the San Clemente location is a lot nicer than San Juan Capistrano. Although SJC is closer to me and perfect for a fill up but if I head about 5 miles father south I can come here to SC. Come on! Just 5 miles of driving on the freeway is easy mode on autopilot. Here I can have a nice view of San Clemente rather than homeless shopping carts. There's not much to say. Just go to the very back of the outlet. Look at your navigation map a keep telling your self first Left turn. Then keep left. If you are in unsure keep left some more. When you see a parking structure go behind/below it, keep going left. See the pictures on the Yelp page for a guide. I have never been to this Outlet mall but I was able to find it. I think going the back route is the best way because you might come here after hours like me. I will definitely come back if I need a quick charge heading to San Diego or if I go shopping here some day. This is fun. I'm going to continue my Saturday morning super charging drives to find the best OC Tesla Super chargers. It was never this fun to put gas in my last ICE cars, haha. Hmm Costco. I don't usually shop at outlet malls so the only time I would head over to the Outlets at San Clemente is to charge my car. Since I trip charge at home when I do my long-distance road trips I don't visit this supercharger en route to my destination. However, I have been here a few times on my way back home, especially if I can't make it to my preferred supercharger at One Paseo in Del Mar. There are a total of 20 superchargers spaced out on opposite ends. All are of the V2 type (up to 150kW). From the main mall it's a little far as you have to pass the employee parking structure. If you have to access this after the mall closes (~10pm) other Yelpers have provided instructions on how to access the SC. As the SC is part of the mall there are a good amount of sit-down as well as fast-casual restaurants. However if all you want to do is to use the restroom, it's a bit of a walk. From the SC head towards either Nike or H&M and follow that side of the mall, passing by Ruby's Diner, Auntie Annies and the movie theater. The restrooms will be at the end of that section. Not only do the restrooms have plenty of stalls, they are *clean*! I would certainly prefer stopping by here over the Aliso Creek rest area further south if I had the choice. read more

This supercharger has amazing views. Off to the side there is a small grassy area where dogs can play. Or one can walk or run across the street to find a trail that leads down to the beach. Dogs are allowed too. If you don't want to head to the beach, I recommend walking the trails to see the views at least. No spectacular food or coffee choices at this location. This Supercharger was located at the Outlets at San Clemente. This is a nice place to charge up since it gives you an opportunity to get out, stretch your legs, and browse the different stores, or hit up a food place if you're feeling the munchies. There is a good amount of chargers at this location and it's pretty convenient to get to since its right off the 5 FWY. The chargers are located near the parking structure, just right outside it, not in it. The chargers also have a 40 minute time limit. When we got there on a Saturday afternoon, there were several open spots. Overall, it's a decent charging location. You get to stretch your legs, possibly buy something, and there's plenty of Pokemon Go Gyms/Pokestops to keep you occupied. read more

San Clemente, Ca. I've never had any problems here, so far there has always been open stalls. I usually choose the same one on the north bank and the charging speed has been excellent. I notice a lot of people sit in their cars here during charging but I've not yet become bored with the mall. I like the tacos at Slapfish so I try to come around lunchtime. YES, this is OPEN 24 HOURS!! The main gates are closed after mall hours. We were about to turn back to the San Juan one with 6% to spare at midnight but thankfully a security guard saw us and gave us directions to go around. If you're here after hours: see my photo for map directions. - turn into the mall property at the northern end. - follow the road and make a sharp turn onto a small bridge. - follow the road BEHIND the shops. When given the chance to stay in front of the shops, bear left and stay behind them. - follow the yellow arrows and keep bearing left until you drop down a slight slope and you'll find the chargers. A great Supercharger to use for those long drives between OC and San Diego. It currently has 21 bays and so far I haven't had to wait for a spot whether 5pm or 11pm. The mall is very well-lit and there is a high security presence after 10pm. If it is your first time here after 10pm, note that they close all gates around the mall and lock all gates in and out of the parking structure. In this case, to get to the superchargers after 10pm, you MUST turn left at the Stop sign after you cross the bridge from the entrance at Avenida Vista Hermosa. Then follow the road behind the mall staying to the left side until you get to the superchargers. You will drive through all the employee parking lots. There are no gates but several stop signs. read more

Beautiful Tesla supercharger location. Stopped by on our way from a night in Carlsbad back home to El Segundo. I mean, it's an outlet mall. But the superchargers are closer to the pier and you're on a cliff so it is really pretty. We walked around the grass and viewed the ocean... only charged for a few minutes, but great spot. This Supercharger earns a 4 star. Easily accessible from the 5 freeway, perfectly placed on the way to San Diego. You'll notice that the North chargers have connectivity and slow charging issues where the South chargers are spot ON, fast and connect easily. Big charging station with 21 chargers available. We were here in the morning and about half of the chargers were occupied by X and S models. The chargers are isolated and all the way over at the end of the parking area behind the parking structure. While there is nothing immediately in the vicinity of the supercharger area, there are stores located a short walk away. Watch the time so you do not get charged any extra fees. Overall, 4 stars for the amount of chargers and one star off for the isolated area where they are located. read more

Went to la jolla for the day was headed back to long beach and saw that this shopping outlet center had this super charging station. Gave it a try.... It was clean painless and quick. Went for a chocolate apple at rocky mountain factory and after 20 mins the car was fully charged and i was on my way. Only one small thing... The charging station is located all the way at the southwest end of the property at the very bottom of the south parking structure a tad of walk to the main shopping center. If your jist waiting in your car then no big deal. Otherwise it was fine. read more

We have a Charging Station a block from home, but we come here for the amenities. Hopefully, this review won't cause every Tesla owner in OC to crowd us out. We even have a Super Charger in our garage, but we love coming here weekly to charge while we eat, shop, or when we just want to sit and talk without interruption. Occasionally, we watch a movie (or the game) on the iPad. Now, what would be GREAT is if only the P100D models (both S and X, I'll be generous) were allowed to charge here. While taking a short Christmas drive I decided to stop by the new San Clemente Outlets and charge my M3 at their new supercharger location. I've wanted to visit these outlets out since they finished building them earlier this year. The location could not be better. The community is made up to beautiful new Mediterranean style homes and a brand new world-class outlet mall. Once you drive through the parking structure you find all the superchargers nicely placed in a cul-de-sac style parking lot. Each charger had more than enough personal space between the next charger and when you open your car you have spectacular views of San Clemente beaches and canyons. With views of the coast and amazing beaches you can't go wrong charging here. This is by far my favorite supercharger location. 5/5 read more

We've been here three times and there are always broken chargers. This time there were seven broken.

The chargers might be open 24/7 but as far as I can see the roads to the chargers are closed right now at around 3 am. The chargers show 12 in use at the moment and said 13 when I set off so there must be some way in and out but none I could see. Gotta go on to the next one. read more
