Walk along the harbor, look at the boats, and spot birds and sea lions. You'll see them lounging on the dock or boats and hear them barking every night. Be sure to walk down to the bridge and cross over. There are nice, grass areas with benches, picnic tables, etc. It's a beautiful view. Enjoy the beauty! There is a ton of free parking, clean public bathrooms, and the beautiful coastline. Then add in the dining, shopping, whale watching tours, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing, and wading at Baby Beach.... This is a wonderful place to visit.

Small cleats so don't come here in a storm as you'll probably tear them from the plywood. The bathrooms are disgusting. One of three showers didn't have a shower head. The other two were just tolerable. Definitely bring shower sandals if not swim boots. All in all, this marina is not worth the price being charged. I thought Dana Point was upscale, but this marina needs to be shut down and renovated.

The fish were biting -- albeit fairly close to shore -- so that was fun, but not the offshore trip I expected from the listing. The one real surprise/letdown was the fish cleaning. Everything I found online said to expect around $3 per small fish at Davy's Locker. We were charged $60 for three small calico bass and five bonita - so closer to $8 a fish. Each one maybe took 3min to clean. I grew up cleaning fish, so I knew this was a pretty ridiculous amoutn. I'd planned to tip the crew well because they earned it, but a surprise charge like that for a basic service took the wind out of me. Not a chance. Good trip, good people. Just post your cleaning prices clearly so nobody gets caught off guard. Next time I'll clean my own.
