    Launching Dock.
    Daniel D.

My dog threatened to run away if I didn't go kayaking with him, so I ended up renting a kayak with Pure Watersports. No reservations were made and it took around 10 minutes for us to sign up, grab our gear, head to the launching dock, and start kayaking. An incredibly simple process! It was around $35 for an hour of the tandem kayak. My party ended up taking a loop around a little island and called it when our shoulders started screaming from the pain of rowing. It's a great spot for those who are fairly new to kayaking, just be mindful of the other boats, paddleboarders, and fishing wires. Definitely a place I would go back to again. I'm so glad they let dogs on the kayak! All that is asked is that the dogs wear a life vest.

    Beautiful day for SUP!

I booked six paddle boards for family. It was easy to do online, there were lots of launch time options. Upon arrival, we followed the signs, checked in, got lifejackets and were on our way. Everyone had an amazing time!

This place knows customer service 110% all around!!!! I was kicking the idea of getting a kayak to do some fishing off of and I was really looking at the Hobbie line. I called and spoke with Giovanna and had a great conversation with her over the phone. I went down that weekend to try out the kayak out in the water to see how stable it was and how it operated. I took out the Pro Angler 14 360 drive and it was an amazing boat out in the harbor. Got back and looked at a few different options that they had in stock. It took me about a month to finally pull the trigger on it and Giovanna was always so great on answering all of my random off the wall questions. Looking forward to getting out on the water and trying this new toy out. Thanks again to all the great staff at Pure Watersports.

Absolutely love coming to this place! Been coming here for years, and the staff is always fantastic! The front desk Delaney is an absolute sweetheart and boys on the dock always make it so fun to be around! If you are look for fun on the water this is the best place in DP!

This was a great experience. We had never jet ski'd. We looked them up and were able to do it the same day. We reserved and paid it online, along with filling out the waivers. We went there and were on the water within an hour. They have you watch a video, get your life jacket and go to the water. The instructions are simple to follow. For never having done this we had a great time. There is enough space to play around and speed on the water. We'd definitely do this again.

The location is on a great and convenient location on the marina with plenty of parking. One area is paid parking and the other is free if you go down Golden Lantern. Lifevests are provided but not required to wear. They just need to be on the kayak. You need to fill out an online waiver. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the prices are very reasonable.

They also have a key to the bathroom, which is around the corner. Even though we were 20 minutes early, they let us get on the water bike after a quick instruction. Riding on the water bikes was really fun! We rode around the bay and the water was choppy sometimes but as you get inside the bay, the water is calmer. A trick is that if you feel the water is too choppy, start paddling - the water will calm down with the pedaling. There are several boats around which provided live music for us. The bike has two cup holders and a front container to put your phones and small stuff in. We had a great time. They share a parking lot with nearby restaurants which offer 3 hours of free parking. That is a huge plus for something near the beach! We will be back next time to try a glow ride.

Best experience I never knew I needed!…read more On July 18th, 2026, I went out on a boat with Captain Maria, First Mate Janelle, and Second Mate (photographer) Hannah. They were lovely, helpful, and gave good info. The boat was choppy, which I enjoyed, but I felt 100% safe the entire time. Of course, the main attraction was the dolphins (& sea lions); it was amazing. We must have seen at least 500 of them, jumping in and out, in Sync with the boat and each other. Earlier this year I completed one of the three items on my bucket list (yes, only three), which was to see the Aurora Borealis (In Lapland, Finland), and I have to be honest, today's experience topped that by far (also much less cold). To sum it up, thanks to Captain Maria, Janelle, and the lovely Hannah, I had the best experience I never knew I needed to experience! P.S. Item #2 was also completed earlier this year. P.P.S. Item #3 is still waiting (for 36 years now).

They depart from the building towards the boat 15 mins beforehand so they want you to check in 30mins before (and on weekends/holidays, check in 45mins before). The boat departs on time at the scheduled time, so make sure you are here in the building 15-30mins before your booked time. We booked at 1pm and that's when the boat left the dock. We were gathered at the office at 12:45 to head towards the boat and unfortunately a couple missed their slot because they were not even in the parking lot at 1pm when the boat sailed. Don't make their mistake, just make sure you are parked at least 15mins before the booked time. They were willing to wait 5 mins, but not 30 mins, so timeliness from guests is important as we had almost 30 people on board. As you are led from the building to the boat, they have a pit stop at the bathroom as they warned that the boat's bathroom that can't take toilet paper and can easily clog. Unfortunately the ocean waters was unusually warm when we booked on 7/03 for whale/dolphin sighting so we didn't see any but they have a sighting guarantee so they gave us all a voucher to come back again for free. They gave out a delicious brownie at the end too, so I'm excited to come back for the brownie!

However, in my experience, the area receives a lot of fishing pressure, and the catch is often limited to smaller fish. I originally purchased two trips through a Groupon to try out the fishery. On my first trip, we only caught very small whitefish and sculpin. If the size limit was still 10", we would have maybe had 20 keepers. If anyone had larger than a 1lb sculpin or 2lb whitefish, I would be surprised. Jackpot was a sheepshead. Unfortunately, I missed my second trip in June and later contacted the landing about redeeming it, especially since the yellowtail bite is strong right now. I was surprised to learn that I would need to pay a $55 rescheduling fee, despite already paying more than $100 for the trip, even with the Groupon discount. For regular or experienced anglers, I would not recommend this option. Parking in the area can exceed $40, although the landing mentions there are less expensive lots nearby. My credentials are not important, but I fish frequently and have considerable experience. Based on that experience, I did not find this trip to be a good value.

The bikes they brought out were the perfect size for each person in our group and they provided helmets. It was about $16/hour for the bike rental. Upon arrival we were helped immediately. From arrival, to waiver signature, and getting on bikes took about 10 minutes. You will need an ID as they hold it until you return with payment. The location is on the north shore and it is easy to find. There was plenty of parking and it's right next to an RV Park with a little liquor store in case you forgot anything. If you didn't bring a drink, pick one up as I did not see any water fountains or bottle fillers on the bike path. The paved bike path is right across the road and it is easy enough. There are some hills, not bad, but not completely flat. You can always walk the bike up if needed. You can ride all the way down the north shore which is mostly undeveloped and absolutely beautiful. We packed a backpack with sandwiches and stopped along the way at picnic tables to eat lunch. Keep in mind for you, your kids, and pets, that it's a little harder to exercise/breathe at high altitudes. There are a few benches to stop and rest as well as a few paths down to the lake. The trail is shared with other bikers, walkers, runners, and a few folks walking dogs. Everyone we encountered was respectful. I knocked one star down because I thought $100+ for one adult and two kid bike rentals for less than 2 hours was a little steep. However, we loved our time on the bike path. The exercise was great and the north shore is beautiful. The trees and lake took our breath away. We will return soon.
