Justin was an amazing tour guide and was very knowledgeable! He is kind and patient with every kayaker and accommodates to their needs from experienced kayakers to first timers. We saw a lot of different marine animals and the water was crystal clear. Will be booking a paddle boarding session next.

Definitely do this kayak tour! Justin is the man, he was extremely fun and friendly. And his passion for nature and the ocean really shined as he gave us lots of fun facts and tid bits of the wildlife in the area. He made it very fun and easy. Wife had a great time.

Went kayaking with Ryan and Justin while visiting my family in Southern California this last weekend. I was really appreciative of Justin as I had just hurt my hand the day before and he offered to be my kayak mate!! Despite my injury, we were able to lead the pack, but no worries, they will go at your pace!! Both Ryan and Justin were very skilled and knowledgeable. Our tour was comfortable, safe, and a great learning experience. Most cool, we saw both common and Bottlenose dolphins!! Dont have photos but we do have videos!! Highly recommend!!

The review is based strictly on the customer service, not the actual tour as we never went on it. I made reservations for a kayaking tour on 9/6 @ 11 a.m. It was supposed to be part of our getaway to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. We drove around for over an hour looking for parking to no avail, not surprised since it was Labor Day weekend and the hottest weekend in years in SoCal. At 11:07 a.m., I called Justin to tell him we wouldn't be able to make it and ask if we could reschedule for the next day -- at whatever time he had availability.(To avoid losing the $159 for the tour, we were willing to cancel our plans for Monday). He returned my call within a couple of minutes to tell me they were totally booked for Monday -- Labor Day. He also asked that I check with him via text in about 1.5 hours to see what he could do as they were leaving for the tour. I texted him at around 2 p.m. asking to let me know if he could accommodate us. He said he could do it at 11 a.m. the next day. We arrived at the area, Heisler Park, shortly after 9 a.m. to avoid the parking issues. We walked around for a while until we got a text at 10:25 a.m. from Justin saying the tour was cancelled due to the rough waters and that they'd try again the next day at 11. Unfortunately, due to work obligations on the following day, that didn't work for us. While the cancellation was a total disappointment, we appreciated Justin's responsiveness, responsibility to ensure safety and willingness to work with us despite our inability to make our original reservations. The icing on the cake was we were refunded the $150 for the reservation without asking. Since we're in the Pasadena area, we visit Laguna regularly. We'll definitely go kayaking down there soon and rebook with Laguna Ethos.

We went kayaking for my birthday and we had a blast. Justin and his staff was very professional and filled us in on the history of Laguna. Totally recommend!

We had the best time. Laguna Ethos Kayaking was so much fun. Justin and his staff lead a great open ocean tour. Safe. Reliable. Fun. Knowledgeable. The 90 minute tour flew by. We will definitely do it again. Highly recommend!

I spoke with SlyDog the next morning, and throughout the rest of the week they really took his time with him. He ended up loving everything about the experience once he felt safe. There are a decent number of instructors in the water watching and guiding, and they do an outstanding job with the kids, he was surfing by the end of the second day, and had an absolute blast. I highly recommend these guys! This year he wants to master surfing and we're signed up for several back-to-back weeks. Counting the seconds!

She even has done Laguna and Crystal Cove Junior Guards. However, she just wouldn't try surfing with me. So, I enrolled her in a private lesson. I spoke to Amy on the phone and she understood. She recommended Jorge because he has kids of his own. Jorge was great. Right away she hopped up and rode wave after wave. He was proactive at identifying good waves and giving her a slight push with verbal instructions. Afterwards, she kept asking me for a board and to go back surfing.. Even if you are a great surfer, there are many advantages of getting a lesson for your child. They have wet suits and giant foam boards. This saves money instead of going out and spending two or three hundred when your kid might not even like it. Using a larger board is the way to go and it eliminates the frustrations of learning on a shorter board. Jorge was great. He was proactive, engaging, and well versed with kids. I ended up buying a used foam board for her to practice more on. As she progresses, she can get a regular board This is a great place to take a lesson. Open communication and the follow-through makes me a fan and then some! Don't just go to the beach and take selfies to post. That behavior ruins the beach and it's a stupid way to live a fake life. Take a lesson and get in the water. Enjoy the ocean for all it has and have someone else take real pictures of you enjoying it! A nickel says you will have a blast Or, give your kids a great experience they will always remember. They make it easy here!

Very accessible to reach via text and email. Waivers required as well. Now having tried this for the first time in the ocean, I recommend a harbor paddle if the waves may intimidate you or, even, wear my own O'Neill life jacket (jacket is more for returning back to shore). This activity was one for our friends' bucket lists and we all had the best day!! Yelp recommendations did not leave me astray. Thank you! Decided to plan a paddle board rental and beach day with friends for a birthday surprise. If you're planning something like this, I also recommend a patio lunch at the Rooftop Lounge as it is not far either from theLaguna Beach location where we met Erin. We were a small group of four and she accommodated us perfectly. The weather was perfect this week so we didn't need to adjust the time of the excursion either so we enjoyed an early evening two-hour rental. The sunset-ish vibes were incredible too, to be on the ocean. She met us and had our boards and paddles, dry bag (if needed), and our floatation safety equipment on the beach ready for us. She guided us with specific instructions to get out over the waves. She then walks us out with our board and makes sure we go out one-by-one. It was such a rush to get over those waves, because I admit, the ocean can be intimidating. All the places I've swam before, I've never really encountered waves this big or a boat dropped me off to snorkel. Waves are just another element. The best advice was being on our knees and just digging the paddle into the water as fast as possible and next thing I know, we are all out in the ocean having the best time! The experience is amazing and we haven't laughed like this in a long while. I stood up to paddle board only twice, but I fell on the first try. I admit, I felt much more comfortable paddling while on my knees. It was perfect. Note: SAFELY return to shore, come in one-at-a-time as Erin instructs. She and a lifeguard were amazing and helped us return. For me, it was much needed. I am so thankful for their assistance. Those waves, man oh man, a big lesson for me that day, but we are all still reeling, laughing and talking about the day. FYI: If choosing a longer rental as we had, I'd recommend using her dry bag and bring water, a small towel (in case you do go in the water and need to dry salt water from eyes as that does sting) Also, use durable ziplocs to secure anything you may get wet. I also had my phone in one of those necklace protector sleeves and it took surprisingly took great photos through the plastic. Reminder for me to also secure the dry bag on the paddle board straps much more securely too as it did get wet, on accident, in the water when I was returning to shore. The waves knocked the bag off the board but easily retrieved. Just wet because I didn't close it properly-oops. Actually, just assume whatever you take into the ocean will get wet. One friend did lose her Ray Bans, but Erin warned us prior. Oops! Nonetheless, the best birthday surprise!!! So much fun!!! I highly recommend a beach day paddle boarding (find an area you're comfortable with the waves though or stick to the harbor). Don't hesitate to check with Erin because she is so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you again, Erin, for such a great beach experience.
