Erin is amazing to work with! It was one of the first times though I actually stopped to enjoy the beach in Laguna and Erin was so helpful from day one! Very accessible to reach via text and email. Waivers required as well. Now having tried this for the first time in the ocean, I recommend a harbor paddle if the waves may intimidate you or, even, wear my own O'Neill life jacket (jacket is more for returning back to shore). This activity was one for our friends' bucket lists and we all had the best day!! Yelp recommendations did not leave me astray. Thank you! Decided to plan a paddle board rental and beach day with friends for a birthday surprise. If you're planning something like this, I also recommend a patio lunch at the Rooftop Lounge as it is not far either from theLaguna Beach location where we met Erin. We were a small group of four and she accommodated us perfectly. The weather was perfect this week so we didn't need to adjust the time of the excursion either so we enjoyed an early evening two-hour rental. The sunset-ish vibes were incredible too, to be on the ocean. She met us and had our boards and paddles, dry bag (if needed), and our floatation safety equipment on the beach ready for us. She guided us with specific instructions to get out over the waves. She then walks us out with our board and makes sure we go out one-by-one. It was such a rush to get over those waves, because I admit, the ocean can be intimidating. All the places I've swam before, I've never really encountered waves this big or a boat dropped me off to snorkel. Waves are just another element. The best advice was being on our knees and just digging the paddle into the water as fast as possible and next thing I know, we are all out in the ocean having the best time! The experience is amazing and we haven't laughed like this in a long while. I stood up to paddle board only twice, but I fell on the first try. I admit, I felt much more comfortable paddling while on my knees. It was perfect. Note: SAFELY return to shore, come in one-at-a-time as Erin instructs. She and a lifeguard were amazing and helped us return. For me, it was much needed. I am so thankful for their assistance. Those waves, man oh man, a big lesson for me that day, but we are all still reeling, laughing and talking about the day. FYI: If choosing a longer rental as we had, I'd recommend using her dry bag and bring water, a small towel (in case you do go in the water and need to dry salt water from eyes as that does sting) Also, use durable ziplocs to secure anything you may get wet. I also had my phone in one of those necklace protector sleeves and it took surprisingly took great photos through the plastic. Reminder for me to also secure the dry bag on the paddle board straps much more securely too as it did get wet, on accident, in the water when I was returning to shore. The waves knocked the bag off the board but easily retrieved. Just wet because I didn't close it properly-oops. Actually, just assume whatever you take into the ocean will get wet. One friend did lose her Ray Bans, but Erin warned us prior. Oops! Nonetheless, the best birthday surprise!!! So much fun!!! I highly recommend a beach day paddle boarding (find an area you're comfortable with the waves though or stick to the harbor). First off Erin is bad ass!! She knows her stuff. I went on the New Years Black Canyon SUP paddle trip and it was legit one of the coolest experiences I've ever been on. Erin and her co guide Jessica Danger were so rad the entire time. They made sure and shared some of the coolest spots on the Colorado. My friend was a more nervous than she thought that she would be, so Erin offered to reschedule to an even calmer location(tide was low already that day), to make her feel more comfortable. We did end up using our session that day, since we were there... and Erin was super patient!!! Erin is the best. Before I had even stepped on a paddleboard I reached out to her and she answered all of my questions. I knew I wanted to get into SUP but I didn't really know where to start. This was almost exactly a year ago in August 2020. She encouraged me to get out and try it and before I (or my wife) knew it, by October I had purchased two paddleboards. My wife and I go out all the time now. Seemingly family owned and operated, didn't ask but they had a lovely and helpful little lady who in the end showed me crabs she caught in the water :). It was a little tricky to find being that they give a street address but are to be found down on the sand by a life guard stand (there are stairs going from the hotel you'll encounter to the sand). I've Paddle Boarded all over the world and this is my favourite place by far! Erin is awesome, very knowledgable and helped me take my paddle boarding to the next level - going far off the beach in search of marine life. I did a morning session and loved it so much I came back the same day for sunset. Saw 3 schools of dolphins, a sea lion and a grey whale. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience with this place or Erin. While trying to book, her phone connection, using google, was very poor and hard to communicate. I asked about canceling and in the garbled connection I heard you may cancel even the morning of the appointment, but that wasn't the case. We did have to cancel because I had to take my wife to the Dr. she didn't offer a refund until after a long and pleading conversation. She hasn't even honored that yet 2wks later. Now we're in dispute using the credit card company. Being a small business owner, she needs to realize a few refund $ is pennies vs poor online reviews and word of mouth.
