*****Perfect***** My youngest is an avid swimmer in the pool and in the ocean. She swims and body surfs. She already had fins and knows the Newport and Laguna waters well. She even has done Laguna and Crystal Cove Junior Guards. However, she just wouldn't try surfing with me. So, I enrolled her in a private lesson. I spoke to Amy on the phone and she understood. She recommended Jorge because he has kids of his own. Jorge was great. Right away she hopped up and rode wave after wave. He was proactive at identifying good waves and giving her a slight push with verbal instructions. Afterwards, she kept asking me for a board and to go back surfing.. Even if you are a great surfer, there are many advantages of getting a lesson for your child. They have wet suits and giant foam boards. This saves money instead of going out and spending two or three hundred when your kid might not even like it. Using a larger board is the way to go and it eliminates the frustrations of learning on a shorter board. Jorge was great. He was proactive, engaging, and well versed with kids. I ended up buying a used foam board for her to practice more on. As she progresses, she can get a regular board This is a great place to take a lesson. Open communication and the follow-through makes me a fan and then some! Don't just go to the beach and take selfies to post. That behavior ruins the beach and it's a stupid way to live a fake life. Take a lesson and get in the water. Enjoy the ocean for all it has and have someone else take real pictures of you enjoying it! Our instructor Strider was simply awesome. He broke down the techniques into simple steps we could work on with each wave. He was super supportive and cheered us on every time we popped up successfully. Highly recommended! My son has taken 2 private classes with coach Rilliey and he is now obsessed with surfing. He did the 1-hour private and another 1-hour 2 person private. Did a two person lesson with Jager. While the conditions weren't ideal for surfing (or moreso weren't ideal for beginners) we still had a great time and learned a lot. Jager was thorough but wasn't overwhelming. The spot where we met was easy to find and we didn't have to worry about bringing our own board/suits. we started learning some basics on the beach then got in the water for most of the lesson. He did a great job making us feel comfortable and in control, especially as beginners. Surfing can be intimadating but we felt confident afterwards and have even gone out once more since. Hoping to do one more lesson to fine tune some things but no complaints for the surf school! read more

I specifically want to call out Bryan, Luke & Chet - these guys were amazing, super knowledgeable, communicated well on what I need to do tweak some things, which have helped with improving my skill! Hands down this surf school is the best around. The owners, Tim and Amy provide lessons and camps that are educational, fun and safe. The instructors really know how to connect with their students and make these lessons fun and educational. Most of these instructors were once students themselves. My daughter took lessons years ago every spring and attended various weeks of the summer camps. Her experience was extremely positive and she has memories she will cherish forever. I took a private lesson with this company 3 months ago. I booked an 1:1 lesson and expected it to be 1:1. My amazing golf teacher focuses every ounce of her energy on me the entire duration of my lessons. I expected the same from this company. I called and spoke to Amy twice. First, to ask generic questions to understand what I can expect. Second, to change an 11am lesson time I booked online to 10am; I called 5 minutes after I made the reservation. Amy was very nice and professional both times. I showed up at 10 and nobody is there. Someone showed up, looked at me, and ignored me. I asked her if she is my instructor. She looked annoyed and asked me if I'm her 11am. I told her that Amy had changed it for me to 10. She said she didn't check the system and nobody told her that the scheduled changed. She called Amy and talked to her in a manner that she should not in front of a customer. This whole thing took 10 minutes. She complained that nobody told her that she had to check her schedule, and reluctantly said she can proceed with the lesson. A friend of her showed up, and she unilaterally told me that the friend is joining. The friend takes a few minutes to pick out a surf board she will use, while I wait. I thought the friend would be surfing on her own while we do my lesson. I was wrong. She gave me a brief basics before we got to the water. Once we got there, she alternated between doing one "wave" with me and one "wave" with her friend. This turned into a group lesson. I explained to her that when she pushes me off to ride the wave and immediately goes to her friend, I seriously struggle while being washed up on shore and not trying to get back into the water with the 10 foot board. While she was with her friend, the board hit me twice; once on my pinky and once on my shin (not pleasant, it did hurt especially on my pinky). I explained that I struggled whenever I was washed up, and she apathetically and quickly asked if I wanted to end the lesson. I explained that i am not seriously injured but I struggle whenever I was washed up (like for the 5th time now). She didn't change and continued the group lesson. When she sent me off saying the lesson is over and went back to her friend, I realized that the total lesson time wasn't even an hour. So I paid for 1:1 1 hour lesson and got maybe 20 minutes out of it. I couldn't believe how unprofessional this instructor was. read more

My brother and Insurprised our brother in law with surf lessons at Endless Surf with Amy. We have not had that much fun in a long time! Amy was amazing. We are definitely coming back for a more intermediate class. We had never surfed before, and we were all able to pop up and ride waves after our first lesson! She is truly great for beginners but you can also tell that she has an in depth knowledge since she's been surfing all of her life and all over the world. If you're brand new to surfing I would recommend a 2 hour session to start. Endless Sun provides wet suits and boards at no additional cost.
