Nice young lady took my information, verified my C card, and pulled out a tank, wetsuit, buoyancy compensator, wetsuit, weights, and regulator for me. Tried on the wetsuit and placed the weights into the bc, paid the $65 for the rental and loaded it all up into my car. Fairly quick and easy. Made my dive, returned the rental equipment, and was on my way. I'll be back the next time I need to rent dive gear.

Visibility was pretty solid, and we spotted several fish cruising around. The waves were calm and totally manageable, which made it relaxing instead of stressful. There's also a vigilant lifeguard on duty, which adds a nice layer of peace of mind. Even if you're not snorkeling, it's a great spot to hang out and sunbathe. Seaweed was around but not overwhelming, definitely not like swimming through a kelp jungle.

The gun was unusable for the entire trip. Total disaster. When I got home, I reached out to Spear America and Noah immediately diagnosed the issue, identified the correct spear, and went a step further. He swapped out the incorrect European tip so I wasn't stuck paying twice to get the job done right. That kind of service is rare. He didn't have to do it. He chose to. Walk along the harbor, look at the boats, and spot birds and sea lions. You'll see them lounging on the dock or boats and hear them barking every night. There is a ton of free parking, clean public bathrooms, and the beautiful coastline. Then add in the dining, shopping, whale watching tours, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing, and wading at Baby Beach.... This is a wonderful place to visit.

Becoming apart of the eco dive center community has truly been the biggest highlight of my 2024…read moreyear. In July, I finally got my open water certification after putting it off for years. When I say I got hooked immediately, I mean it. I made some cool new friends and had truly the world's best diving instructor - Richie who has now been dubbed our scuba dad. My whole certification group ended up going on to get our Advanced open water, and then a few of us also did our wreck and nitrox certs too! The staff at eco has been incredible in educating us and involving us in the community! I recently took advantage of the crazy good Black Friday event and bought most of my gear! Getting excited to head to Fiji with Eco in August, and to get my rescue cert done by the end of summer!
