My boys absolutely love this camp -- the sailing, the teamwork, the fun -- it's all top notch. This year, we ran into an unexpected situation where one of my sons wasn't able to attend, even though we had signed up well in advance. Based on the camp's policy, Westwind could have easily told us there was nothing they could do -- but they did the opposite. They were quick to respond, incredibly understanding, and went out of their way to accommodate us. In a world where customer service can be hit-or-miss, their compassion and professionalism really stood out. Another lovely moment: during the "practice capsizing" day, my elderly parents came to watch. Without us asking, the amazing staff brought out chairs for them so they could sit and enjoy the event comfortably. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and speaks volumes about the team behind this camp. We're so grateful for everything Westwind Sailing offers -- from the wonderful instruction to the truly kind and caring staff. Highly recommend this camp to anyone considering it!

There is a ton of free parking, clean public bathrooms, and the beautiful coastline. Then add in the dining, shopping, whale watching tours, paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing, and wading at Baby Beach.... This is a wonderful place to visit.

Tucked in the front seat, wrapped in a blanket, we set out! Not only did we see hundreds of dolphins, spiraling and jumping, we also got to see two whales up close and personal. For Jori, this is so much more than a business! She made each of us on the boat feel so connected to this incredible experience and carefully attended to every need. She was unhurried as we idled with dolphins and watched them play in the wake of our boat. My mom exclaimed the next day that it was among "the most memorable experiences of her life." Everyone on the boat was super professional and informative. We really appreciate Laura spitting facts at us and making sure we knew what was going on. At one point, I was standing in front of the boat and I was about to go sit back down, but Laura told me to stay because she knew we would see something soon and we saw a Fin whale, which we stopped for a while to watch come up and down and no matter what it's always magical. We ran into a bunch of dolphins and watching them chop and play as always fulfilling. There's no way you can go wrong with this excursion, especially with a discount. They seem to always be offering. The first thing I noticed was how well the crew worked together, everyone knows their job. Not to mention that they are all in excellent physical shape. We motored out of the slip and some of our party got to hoist the sails. We glided out of the harbor and once out at sea aways we scattered his ashes and lots of flowers. The crew assisted in a nice ceremonial process. Alas the voyage did not last long, we were soon tacking about and sailing back to the harbor. We never lost sight of land, it would not have taken much more time to do so, but that was the program. Rest In Peace David Ray Malson, you will never be forgotten by me and my family. You can find someone better, not worth the risk…read more They ended up damaging by boat and didn't fix the initial root cause of the issue i took it in for.. they called the previous owner of of the boat (30 years) and his mechanic a liar. When I got the boat back I had smoke from the engine bay on my first trip out 1/4 mile from harbor. Luckily sea tow and no major damage. It shifted smooth when I dropped it off, didn't shift after getting it back. Dangerous and incompetent to say the least.. ef these guys.. So i purchased an old but new to me 25' Flybridge with a 7.4L MPI mercruiser.. 30 year owner, very well cared for.. the engine shook when I bought it.. seemed like engine mounts.. I took it to Orange County outboards since they're a mercruiser shop in my area.. what a mistake.. after they rebuilt my stern drive they said just live with the shake... they said the guy I bought it from was lying.. it wasn't a reman'd engine cause it didn't have the tag (mercruiser stopped putting tags on remans) my first time having the boat back it almost burned down SERIOUSLY. Smoke from engine bay 1/4 quarter mile outside the harbor... I had to get sea towed back in.. I immediately let them know, they said they'd send techs out (their shop was full all of a sudden) and that was the last I heard of them.. Absolute garbage.. they took 4 months for 20 hours of billed work.. the work they did do was sound.. but for some reason they wouldn't fix the engine.. So next I took it to another shop, they fixed the engine mounts and the shake is gone.. amazing right!? the reputable shop also found the water pump had failed (mysteriously?) and also the shift cables that worked fine when I dropped it off were stuck when I got it back.. the new shop replaced the cables and it shifted smooth as butter again.. AVOID THIS SHOP IF YOU DONT HAVE A 35' dual engine cabin cruiser.. The mechanic at oc outboards seemed full of himself.. they also said I need to change the oil every 20 hours.. what a joke.. this is my 2nd boat, and I spend about 100 hours a year on the water and this will be my 6th season fishing socal.. I am very disappointed with them and I am considering seeking legal reparations because they almost burned my boat down do to negligence and caused damage.. We'll see.
