I stopped by this place on the way to LA. My niece wanted to specifically get Rainbow sandals. Does this place seem to have every option of Rainbows available? I did not own a pair, but it sure seems to be the place to go. It's nice that it's pretty close off the freeway. When we stopped by there were quite a lot of folks inside, I guess there might be a Rainbow sandals cult since the brand has been around for quite some time. I ended up caving in and buying a pair of criss cross black sandals. The next day I noticed the one shoe, the lining was all shriveled and somewhat not matching the bottom section. (lining was hanging over, not cut exactly to fit) I stopped on my way back from LA to exchange them. The staff seemed pretty easy going, I left my damaged pair on the counter, went in and got a new pair and walked out. Time will tell if I become part of the Rainbow sandals cult. read more

I feel like I should finally review a place considering the first time I ever stopped by the Rainbow Sandals Factory Outlet was over a decade ago. If you want your Rainbow Sandals for cheaper than anywhere else, this is the place to go. The amount of sandals here for you to look through is quite astounding. Definitely choices for everyone! Also love how taxes are baked in the price already, so what you see price-wise is what you pay. Yes they are a bit pricey, but I have owned many of their sandals over the year and they last for quite a long time. Worth the price! Staff here are always super friendly as well. In fact, I had no idea that there was a warranty on sandals as long as the sole isn't too worn through until an associate there told me about it. So I bought my new pair, put them on, and handed over my old sandals because the leather was peeling a bit from the sole. Showed up at my place a week later! Parking here has always been a challenge. WHAT HAPPENED RAINBOW? I have been one of your biggest supporters. I have worn Rainbows for nearly 30 years and I have rarely worn anything else. I had pairs that lasted easily 5 and even 10 years. So every 2 to 3 years I buy new pairs. However I noticed 2 years ago, they worn down considerably and started to break down and I thought. Ok maybe just one bad apple in the batch? Then I just ordered 3 weeks ago 2 pairs of double layer, leather men's and seriously within a couple of weeks they were already wearing down and I was getting foot pain. I haven't had foot pain over 30 years. This is crazy? I was also shocked that black pair of sandals dyed the bottom of my feet black. I couldn't believe it. Never had that happened. I had to scrub hard to get the black dye off my feet. Seriously? So I had my massage therapist who is also a podiatrist look and my feet. and the sandals. He said yep these sandals are wearing down and don't look the older Rainbows. Glue and make different. Found out you are sending out to China... inferior junk now. So disappointing. It created a nightmare for me trying to find a good sandal maker that actually makes sandals like Rainbow used too. I went through foot challenges and finally located the Sandalman in Newport who still makes sandals without the cheap glues etc from China. I got into one of his sandals. And it was like night and day. This is how Rainbow used to be. I'm truly shocked you guys decided to sell out or go for cheaper construction. It turns out the guy I went to was about the same price but even did a a near custom. So then same thing happened to a neighbor who ordered a female sandal pair with nylon strap from Rainbow and the strap was already super loose after 2 weeks of wear. Truly shocking and disappointing. My new grey pair from Rainbow looks about as warn as grey pair from 6 years ago... just baffling. The black is a little better but still showing wear. read more

I have been wearing rainbow sandals for the last 18 years. They're the best quality for the price and last forever. I know a lot of people scoff at $50+ sandals but they're worth every penny and so comfortable after you wear them in. I bought a pair in 2020 with Swarovski crystals and recently some of the crystals have started to come off. I emailed Rainbow with pictures of the sandal and because the first layer of the sole of the sandal was not worn through, they were still under warranty. I shipped them back to Rainbow and they replaced the gems. They even went even further and there were places near the toe where my leather was separating slightly from the sole and they fixed that too and shipped them back to me for free. I bought a pair of Rainbow sandals in 2018. They are amazing. I then purchased a second pair a couple of years ago. Recently, I noticed a problem with the inner layer of one of the newer sandals and contacted Rainbow. I provided them with photos. I was instructed to send the sandals back for evaluation whether or not they were a candidate for warranty. After a week or so I received a brand new replacement pair of sandals. Rainbow customer service is excellent. Their product is superior to other sandals that I have had. Both pairs of sandals are extremely comfortable. I highly recommend Rainbow sandals. read more

They need some retraining in customer service. We walked in and weren't even acknowledged due to the two employees busy gossiping with one another and one asking the other out. The store overall is cool - there's a lot of different styles and options for everyone. A little overwhelming at first because it's hard to distinguish what and where each style is. I love my Rainbows - my first pair lasted me over a decade and I only don't use them because I lost them. Came here on a Monday afternoon to grab some rubber ones (since the leather ones crack if they get wet) and they are cheaper than what you'd get from a third party retailer. It's organized by men's and women's, and I would suggest sizing down if you're in-between sizes. Free small parking lot. Credit cards accepted. After about 20 years of almost exclusively wearing Rainbows bought here at the shop I chose to go with something else. This company is currently riding an old reputation straight into the ground. Issues with quality: All the Rainbows I started with were top quality, made in the USA. Shortly after they switched to making in China, but have only increased prices significantly with a decrease in quality. The teal color of a pair I have rubs off without moisture or lotion, so I've used them once and I'm stuck with them. I had a pair of boots where the sole broke in half, I don't even know how that can happen, and with typical use. Issues with follow-up: Previously I'd gotten pairs fixed (re-sewn, etc.) Now can't get customer service to respond to a boot sole that cracked in half all the way to the lining. Issues with the store: Used to find great deals. Now with free shipping online the meager 10% discount doesn't cover gas, and there's no significant discounts in store. Last visit we bought around 10 pairs. 8 didn't make it into the bag. I was given the third degree by the same guys who had done the sale, they acted like I was stealing when the sandals were sitting behind the counter they'd just checked me out on. There's a few people you still meet there who are friendly, positive, and have a great vibe. But... this used to be NORMAL here (and shouldn't this be the norm at any store?) If I can spend less driving to my local NORDSTROM (!!!) than driving to the outlet, what's the point of the outlet, anyway? And, for what? Bad products? I don't get it. It feels like years of brand loyalty and a growing customer base should have made things better. This super sucks. A course reversal would be great. I just got a pair of Reefs and a pair of Sanuks. Drove down an hour to buy a pair as a gift that wouldn't get to me in time had I shipped. Sign said "$75 (tax included)." Traded in an old pair to get 10% off. When ringing it up, it was $73.31 and added an additional $5.11 in tax. They form to your feet over time and are so comfortable (the initial molding may be a bit uncomfortable, but that doesn't last long) I now own three pairs that are all different styles and colors. My latest trip the outlet was last week. This location has been there forever and the prices are roughly 25% off of retail, with a few specials that are even more discounted. Everything is well organized and they have sizers for you to try. The employees, mostly teenagers, are friendly and helpful.
