My 2023 Volkswagen Atlas experienced sudden EPC warnings, freeway power loss, loss of acceleration, and limp mode conditions while driving on the freeway. The vehicle became unsafe to operate and ultimately had to be towed to Ken Garff Volkswagen Gilbert for a confirmed service appointment. Despite having a confirmed appointment, the vehicle remained at the dealership for several days after being towed there without diagnosis, meaningful updates, or communication beyond the initial check-in process. It was only after I proactively contacted the service advisor for an update approximately six hours after my scheduled appointment time that I was informed the service department was approximately 3 to 5 days behind from even being able to evaluate the vehicle. For customers, especially those whose vehicles are their primary source of transportation and income, communication matters just as much as the repair itself. Had expectations been clearly communicated upfront, which I very clearly asked the appointment scheduler about and received confirmation that my vehicle would be looked at ON THE DAY of the appointment, I could have immediately pursued alternate diagnostic options rather than losing valuable time waiting without updates. I ultimately had the vehicle towed to a certified independent Volkswagen repair facility where the issue was quickly identified as a very well-known Volkswagen Technical Service Bulletin related to ECM software programming and fault code P054A. This is a covered software update under the Volkswagen limited warranty, as subsequently confirmed directly by Volkswagen of America. This experience highlighted the importance of upfront communication, transparency, and honest expectation-setting throughout the service process. As a newly licensed local realtor navigating an earlier corporate layoff, this situation left me in an extremely vulnerable position. I lost every appointment I had scheduled for the week and am now entering another week without resolution. This situation has not only cost me valuable business time and opportunities, but also substantial out-of-pocket towing and diagnostic expenses tied to an issue already known by Volkswagen of America and one that should be addressed with far greater urgency and communication than what I experienced here.

I brought my Jeep in with two concerns: a check engine light and a steering issue. I was told they charge a separate $250 diagnostic fee for each issue, meaning $500 just to diagnose the vehicle before any repairs. In this economy? Plus, They do not offer any loaner vehicles while repairs are being done. For comparison, when I went to the Camelback Jeep location, they pulled the diagnostic code for me at no charge and then let me decide whether I wanted to pay for further diagnostics or proceed with service. That felt much more transparent and customer-friendly. The dealership itself is also pretty bare bones compared to other dealerships I've visited. There are no complimentary snacks, only a pots of coffee, and any other drinks or snacks have to be purchased. Even the showroom was underwhelming this visit. They usually have something fun to look at like a 392 or Rubicon, but this location had just a Wagoneer and a Charger. I understand dealerships charge for technicians' diagnostic time, but $500 in diagnostic fees for two concerns on the same vehicle during the same appointment is excessive, especially given the overall lack of amenities or anything that makes this feel like a quality dealership service experience. When it's time for a trade-in, I will not be coming to this dealer.

Avoid this dealership like the plague!!! I come here because…read moreof proximity to my house is 1.5 miles away from home and I used to work for Earnhardt Ford 20 years ago. Man, how Tex would feel seeing how this place operates now. SMH Over the course of 2 years owning a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve (Jeep's top of the line model) I've had nothing but headaches when bringing my vehicle to this dealership. First, was when I had the seat back panel of my drivers seat fall off! I sat down in the seat and felt a pop, heard the snap and the seat back panel fell off. (Broken clips inside) The service rep (Jonathan) was who I got assigned to. He said he submitted the claim to Jeep and they denied it. Said they claimed there's no way that happened the way I said, despite my car being covered by the 3 year, 36k mile factory warranty. That didn't seem right. He said he even told it to the regional manager of Jeep and he denied the claim as well. I reached out to Heath, the GM, who told me he would make sure it gets submitted correctly and get it taken care of. He did not. I had to go over his head. I went as far as to reach out to Jeep directly who assured me they would look into it and get it made right. Instead what I did was take it to the other Earnhardt Jeep off the 202 and Val Vista. I met with their service advisor and within 10 minutes he told me he had the part ordered and set up a time for me to come back to have it installed. Hallelujah! Now, I've got an issue with a nail in my tire and the tire not holding air and can't be fixed so it needed to be replaced. I have an aftermarket tire and wheel warranty that I've used here two other times. The tires and labor were always covered under the warranty. I never paid out of pocket. The warranty paperwork specifically says mounting and balance are covered as well as taxes and labor. It's been two months since I brought my Jeep in with a leaking tire to get it replaced and this time they told me I owed for the mount and balance. I said I didn't think that was right as didn't have to pay anything the other two times this happened. But I just wanted to be done so I paid it. Then a day later they call me to tell me I owed them for the taxes on the tire. So I reexamined my warranty paperwork and sure enough, it says mounting and balance is covered as well as all taxes. Not sure why this dealership is jerking me around over $25. But you can be sure that it's the last penny they are getting from me. I will be taking my hard earned money someplace else. I recommend everyone else do the same. I own a business and manage another business. Everyone I ever speak with will hear about this experience. And I've bought 2 Ram Trucks from Earnhardt in the last 8-10 years. NEVER AGAIN.

They have an electronic board that tells you whose car is in service and that is helpful for the customers waiting in the waiting room for their car. Price is reasonable, I was just out of my warranty period so I paid $25 for a tire rotation. This Toyota dealer is run better than the one I used to go to. I recommend this dealer because they seem to be well versed in EV's, which is what I have.

However, there were a couple of communication issues that made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. I was told that I could come in on a Sunday and that my car would be ready for me to pick up. When the day and time came, I was told that the car wasn't ready because it still needed to go through its inspection before it could leave the lot. I had already arranged an Uber to get there, so having to cancel it was inconvenient and frustrating. Then, about a week after getting the car, I was told that the payment agreement I had originally been given needed to be increased because the contract had been read incorrectly. That was also frustrating because I felt like I should have been given the correct information from the beginning. Overall, I'd say my experience was okay. The people were helpful, but I think there needs to be better communication and accuracy when it comes to explaining the vehicle's readiness and the financing terms to customers.
