Worst company for solar panels. My solar panels have stopped producing energy. These people did zero maintenance.

Review Highlights - Tesla Energy

The paperwork process was a little slow but having been through the same thing before with SRP I knew it was just part of the utility process.

There were a lot of great reviews for Sunny Energy when we decided to go with them in December of…read more2022 and it was one of the reasons why we decided to go with Sunny Energy. I was most impressed by people saying what a great service experience they received. It's now May of 2023, the solar has been installed for about two months. The one hiccup we had with Sunny Energy was in regard to the contract. We were told one payment schedule on the phone and when we received the contract it was a different payment schedule. The salesperson explained that they had changed their payment schedule two weeks prior, and he had unfortunately forgot to quote us the new schedule. After the contract was signed the process was fast and Sunny Energy did everything they needed to do and there were no delays on their part. Everyone communicated along the way. All the communication was professional and timely. When there were delays in the process it was in no way Sunny Energy's fault. The biggest delay was after the system was completely installed and we had to wait for APS to give the Permission to Operate. In fact, once they had approval and permits and could move forward with the installation, they had an opening and they installed four days later. The crew that came out to do the installation was great and did a good job. They were easy to talk to and listened to what we had to say. The installation was rather painless and went well. After the system was installed, we received a phone call and email from what I believe is the head of customer service to schedule a virtual walk through. When we didn't respond and book a virtual walk through on the first email a second one came which was a great follow up. However, I would have preferred an in-person walk-through. I made the mistake of not asking if one was possible and it turns out after talking to Sunny Energy after the fact, I could have requested one. By that time the email asking to schedule came with a link to a video of the walk through and that had enough information, so it wasn't an issue thereafter. Our solar system is generating enough energy now that we are receiving credits from APS and electric bills for $0 with additional dollar credits still on file with them. I am pleased with the solar system that was purchased, the time to install, the work that was done and the system is operating as promised. I am also thrilled with the SolarEdge inverter and the app that goes with it and would highly recommend that people ask for the SolarEdge inverter and support equipment. If I need any additions to my solar system in the future, I will not hesitate to contact Sunny Energy.

Let's put it this way. More than likely, we are screwed by this company. My husband and I had…read morepurchased solar panels from Sunny Energy a little less than 4 years ago. Things have been great up until we noticed a small leak on our roof about 2 months ago. We've had multiple roofers come and provide an estimate, which they've advised us the leak is coming from underneath the solar panels. They also informed us that the leak appeared to have developed over a few years. Mind you, our home was built 4 years ago. Therefore, we should not have roofing issues this soon. The only way the roofers will fix the issue is if the lower row of panels come off. They recommended we contact the solar company to have them removed. We've attempted to contact every single phone line that we have for Sunny Solar Energy and all of them either go straight to VM or the line is busy. I've also placed multiple work orders to have the panels removed and evaluated for damages to my roof. We have not received one response. We didn't even receive a confirmation that the work orders were received. So we did a little research and found within the past year, people have been having the same issues as us, not getting a hold of Sunny Energy. We also found out that they filed bankruptcy in July of 2024. As you can imagine, we are not happy about this. My last attempt is to visit the office in Tempe, AZ in hopes that someone will be there to talk to me. Definitely not the best way to find out your solar panel company is useless. We are at a loss now and not sure what to do. Very disappointed, upset, and frustrated with this company.

Solar Topps - LOOK NO FURTHER (unless you have time to waste!)…read more I found Solar Topps via Google Search. I called and discussed my needs which was to remove my current solar system for a reroofing job, then to reinstall it. The folks I worked with at Solar Topps were patient and understanding. Even better, their quote was the most competitive! I really like the way it felt like I was speaking with a local business as opposed to some giant corporate owned behemoth looking to swallow my money. Once I agreed to move forward, a start date was discussed and the crew showed up right on time. The crew was very professional, VERY busy and each day they cleaned up after themselves. My solar panels (75) were stacked on pallets like they were new, with great care. My roof was completed and the time came for the solar system to be reinstalled. Again the crew was timely, professional and cleaned up EVERY DAY when done. Now for why Solar Topps should be your first choice for your solar needs - All new hardware was used to put up the panels. During the process, it was noted that the wiring for the system was not up to date and in need of improvement. Solar Topps took extra time to reconfigure the wiring to bring it up to 2026 standards. The system is only 5 years old. Also, while in the process of getting the three system inverters back online after performing firmware updates (something they didn't have to do, but did because they truly care about doing the job right), one of the inverters refused to cooperate and it refused to come back online. Neil the Engineer spent almost three hours working to recover the inverter's function and finally succeeded. He saved me over $1000, where he could have given up and sold me a replacement inverter! The original installer never told me that the inverter's performance are visible via an app, so I could monitor their function. Neil pointed out that this function is available and got everything set up for me and directed me to the app so I could sign up and log in. So not only did Solar Topps complete the job, they improved the performance of my system, updated the firmware of my inverters and brought the wiring up to 2026 standards.....all for the original price for the job!!! I am a retired Service Manager for Rolls Royce Motorcars. The dealer where I worked was in Manhattan, New York. My clientele were all very discerning consumers (A list Actors, Musicians and Designers & more) that won't settle for anything less than the best. If Solar Topps was in Manhattan, I would without hesitation recommend Solar Topps to my customers. Solar Topps gets it. Here is your chance to get treated like a celebrity for a fair price. Call Solar Topps!!!

Solar Topps Review I…read morewas very happy with the installation itself, and my sales advisor, Sean, has been great throughout the process. He's been responsive and has done his best to communicate my concerns to customer service. However, my experience with customer service after the sale has been disappointing. After my second set of solar panels and Tesla batteries was installed, I received a false heat alarm from the sensor mounted above my four Tesla batteries. I reported the issue and was scheduled for service on July 14. In the meantime, I had a mini-split installed in my garage. After that installation, my Tesla solar app began acting abnormally. Solar Topps was aware of both the heat alarm and my concerns about the system before my July 14 appointment. I wasn't asking them to fix the HVAC installation--I simply wanted them to verify that the Tesla programming and configuration were still correct and that nothing had been affected during the mini-split installation. On the morning of my scheduled appointment, I was informed that it had been rescheduled to July 17 without my approval. I immediately responded by text, email, and phone to explain that I could not make July 17 because I had already taken time off work for July 14 and had planned my day around the appointment. Despite that, they would not keep the original appointment. I was also disappointed that they declined to inspect the software or system programming, stating only that Tesla said nothing was wrong. As a customer who has invested a significant amount of money in this system, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for confirmation that everything is still configured correctly. The installation quality deserves credit, and Sean deserves recognition for his professionalism. Unfortunately, my post-installation customer service experience has left me feeling that once the sale is complete, customer support is much less responsive. I hope Solar Topps improves how they handle existing customers because good service after the installation is just as important as the installation itself.
