We had some tiles cracking and lifting up, so we reached out to a few contractors here on Yelp. Tosh from TES Tile got back to us really quickly and then came out to see the situation and give us a bid. Unfortunately the tile is over 20 years old and we had no spares. Other contractors said we have to pull up the entire floor and replace with new tiles. Tosh worked with us to delicately remove matching tiles from 2 bathrooms (which we wanted to re-tile anyways), clean them, and then use them to replace the cracked tiles. We are very pleased with the repair and with the newly re-tiled bathrooms. The new grout on the repair matches perfectly with the old grout for a seamless look. Very impressive! To sum it up: Tosh does great work and is also very easy and pleasant to deal with. His assistant Scott is the same. Each of them is friendly and hard working. No time wasted on this project and the price was also very nice. The best part is that Tosh saw our problem, and then happily worked with us on a solution, where other contractors would not. Our 2nd floor bedroom for some reason had carpet under our bathroom sinks instead of tile, so we wanted to switch it out. We had heard that 2nd floor tile installation was a bit different from 1st floor tile, so I was grateful when I found a review here saying that Tosh and Scott knew how to handle this kind of job right. Tosh responded to my request very quickly, and spent 2 days to help me find matching tile to the bathroom floor. The day of the job, Tosh and Scott worked quickly and efficiently to tear out the carpet, install hardibacker (essential for tile on the 2nd floor), and install the tile - all within the same day! They were considerate of our home, cutting the tile outside rather than upstairs in our bedroom, and covering our floors and winding stairs with work blankets to carry out any dust they might have tracked in (the place was very clean afterward). They even made an extra trip to the store to get some matching grout when they realized the type they brought wasn't quite the right shade. The work was amazing. Our house is old with walls that have warped over time, making the tile cutting and laying process around the edges a bit tricky. Tosh and Scott matched the bathroom tile so cleanly that the floor looks like it was always this way. I normally don't write bad reviews but feel I need to share this. Tosh and Scott were great to work with however we had recurring grout cracks which Tosh patched 2 or 3 times. The cracks returned and we have had to rip the shower out and redo it using a different contractor. During the demo the contractor explained that no waterproofing had been done to the walls before the tile was set. As much as I appreciated their timeliness, I wold not recommend them. read more

We totally lucked out finding Tosh at TES tile. We had a small job--installing new tile in a 30 X 40" shower floor and curb over cultured marble. Here are a dozen reasons to love Tosh. 1. He responded within 5 minutes to my initial text requesting a quote. 2. His quote was very reasonable compared to other bids I got. 3. He came over the next day to confirm his quote when I added additional work I failed to mention in the text quote and did not increase his bid even after I showed him the relatively minor additional work! 4. He was an excellent communicator throughout the process, letting me know exactly when to expect him. 5. He scheduled the job the next day! 6. He cheerfully made an adjustment to his completed work when I miscommunicated how I wanted the curb to join the baseboard. 7. He showed up wearing a mask, cautious and respectful during Covid-19. 8. He was careful to protect the floors extending from the front door to the shower area , as well as the surrounding area. 9. He selected an area outside the house for prep, mixing and cleanup--none of this mess ever came inside. 10. He completed the job in roughly half a day, while another competitor said it would take him two days. 11. He cheerfully came back after he finished the job when I decided I wanted the curb edges smoothed. 12. He is an interesting person--someone you wouldn't mind being stuck in an elevator with. I called to get a quote 2 weeks before Christmas and I knew it was probably a stretch to get it done before the Holiday but Tosh(owner) gave me a fair and honest quote he also told me they would start the tile the next day!!! They worked 4 longs day and it came out perfect. Oh yeah forgot to mention I live in Menifee so they had to drive about an hour both ways. The problems with your work are as follows: 1. Did not wipe off water splashes from the oak cabinets and now the cabinets are permanently marked. 2. There are two gouges in the cabinets- one on one of the cabinet doors and one near the floor. 3. Did not remove the gray cement from the cabinets and when I try to remove it, it pulls off the finish. Estimate to get the cabinets refinished is $6000-10,000 4. Some of the floor tiles are chipped. 5. There is an area where the baseboard was out 1/2 inch from the wall and when I investigated I found out that there was no tile in that area so that if the base board was placed against the wall as it should have been the no tile space would show. 6. There were 3 different walls where there are tennis ball size indentations in the walls near the baseboards. When I investigated further, by removing the wall paper I found that the wall was broken into several pieces. 7. The floor creaks and groans the nearer you get to the toilet. Most people have to wait 6 months or more to find out that the area under the tile was not prepared properly (that is what the noise indicates). I however, only had to wait less than 1 week to find out that the tile workmanship was not up to pare. 8. It took me 3 hours to clean up my yard where you poured your liquid waste (tile, water and grout)-the material was solidified similar to cement. 9. Spent 2 hours cleaning up grout from the surface of the toilets, even on the toilet seat. 10. The tub enclosure is permanently stained from where Tosh splashed water/grout residue and which he did not clean up. I have tried and the stains cannot be removed. Cost for a new tub enclosure is $700. 11. The cost of the tile in both bathrooms plus the grout is $2,235.10. I have pictures of the bathroom before and after you worked on them. Your workmanship has cost me $12,935.10. read more
