I haven't done business with Oceanside Abbey for quite sometime, but I have referred people to them. The owner was good friends with my best friend and referred them to me. My cousin recently needed new flooring in a house she purchased and they were the best quote, and the house looks amazing. I'm also grateful because I installed most of the laminate in her old house . Awesome service, price and installation. read more

This is a good place to get either carpet or flooring. The people who work here are all very helpful and strive to give customers exactly what they need. They are easy to talk to and not pushy at all. They offer a great assortment of styles. I would strongly recommend using this place if you need carpet for your home or your office. read more

The ladies in the showroom are super nice and helpful. In any home improvement projects the installation crew's skill is probably more important than anything else, our SPC floor was installed by Mauricio father and son team, they did an excellent job, they are on time everyday, and provided clear communication on what they plan to do and what they ask the home owner to do, their explanation was essential to ensure efficient progress. Overall we are stoked about our new floor, and working with Abbey and Mauricio team was a pleasant experience. read more

The experience in the store was very positive with knowledge on the different types of carpets we looked at. Ordered the one we wanted after measurements were determined. We priced around and the price was very comparable. They were so honest and informed us that the padding that we had did not need to be replaced as it had a lifetime warranty. The men that came out and installed, it did a beautiful job and left our home with no remnants of the work. Overall, a great experience at a great price! read more

Jon from Abbey Carpets installed new carpeting on our stairs today, and did a phenomenal job. He was prompt and reasonably priced. We have used this company twice for carpeting our entire upstairs and have been very satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend Abbey Carpets for all your flooring needs. Abbey Carpets & Floor sales people were very professional, they have a great showroom full of samples, and are knowledgeable on their products. We were also incredibly happy with the installation of our carpet and flooring! Eddie, Miguel, and their crew were on time, polite, worked very hard, and cleaned up after each day of work. They even moved some moving boxes for me to clear two rooms. The owner, Ken, called us to make sure everything went well. We are very happy! read more

Had to replace my carpet due to water damage and immediately went to Abbey to talk with Stephanie. Have worked with her before and knew she would give me excellent advice. Ken and his team are excellent to work with. They work with your timelines (even when they are extremely tight). You tell them what you're looking for in a carpet and they point out what they have. Their prices are extremely competitive and I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again. read more

First of all, Stephanie is an absolute delight to work with! I came to Abbeys carpet while I was getting some quotes for flooring, Stephanie made sure that she was giving me the best price she could and she was very detailed about her material information. We really liked the color and the pricing of their luxury vinyl and decided to go with them! There was a miscommunication from the vendor, but shout out to office manager who drove up to LA to bring the material on time saved thousands of dollars for us! Our construction started on time and we love our new flooring, super nice and quality material. Thanks so much!!! Hope to be back here in future when we need more work read more

We were return customers to Abbey, and we're so glad we chose them again. The pandemic created a delay of materials from the manufacturer, but we were kept apprised of the status. The installation crew was timely, professional, and it was obvious they took pride in their work. We could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. Thank you LJ and the rest of the Abbey team! read more

EDITED REVIEW 5/20/2024: Editing my original review however keeping with 3 stars. We will not be a repeat customer of Abbey's Carpet nor recommend the company. The great reviews on Google is what lead us to use Abbey's Carpet instead of big box stores such as Lowes or Home Depot however we had multiple issues with poor communication as we (the customers) had to reach out several times to receive the DocuSign (2x), schedule installation (3x) along with getting the installer to come back to fix a spot (2x). After my original post, Ken (the owner) reached out to me and wanted to make sure I was happy with the install so an appointment was made to review a troublesome spot. Although the troublesome area was corrected and it was pointed out to us that it was a closet track issue not an installer issue, however I do feel that Ken was very condescending and not willing to listen to concerns I had with other issues we encountered. We were made to feel as if we were in the wrong on every aspect to include the companies poor communication. We even offered to forward the email communications to Ken to show how we were the ones constantly initiating communications to move forward however that was declined. Overall, we are happy with the quality of the carpet that was installed. We just feel like the customer shouldn't have to be chasing the salesperson to complete the job. read more

Highly recommend Ken at Abby Carpet Oceanside location! Even though we live in Rancho Santa Fe. Ken is really easy to work, great communicator, he will come out to your home and bring samples which is very convenient. We had a great experience at our other home using Abby Carpet, then we moved and went through our decorator and have since learned that was a mistake. Abby's prices are so much more reasonable. We recently had a small flood and called Ken to replace carpet and get new blinds for husbands office, they carry the same brands as decorators and as I said Ken is so easy to work with. I got caught up with going through decorator, but never again! read more

Oceanside Abbey did our floors in 2016, and they are still going great. Recently, we had a small issue where one of the flooring laminates was coming away from the floor. Even though the issue wasn't covered by the warranty any longer, the manager came out himself and fixed the problem, good as new. We would definitely recommend Oceanside Abbey to anyone looking for new flooring. read more

This place is amazing!!! Selection, service, price, install and product were all awesome. Working with L.J. was a delight. He actually made buying carpet fun! We came here after a poor experience with Home Depot. I suspected Home Depot's estimate was forcing us to buy way more carpet than necessary. I was right. Abbey's quote was $400 less because they didn't try to oversell us carpet. It's nice to find an honest company with amazing service and great products. Thank L.J.!!!!' read more

This place is everything, so professional and reliable, special shout out to Ken. Will always shop here for our flooring needs.

If your looking for carpet, I highly recommend checking out Oceanside Abby Carpet & Floor. They became our choice because of the friendly but professional help we received from Ken, John, and store team. We were very impressed with the care and the craftsmanship of Mauricio Sr. and Jr., a father and son team who did an excellent job installing our new carpet. The experience seemed easy and worry free from the moment we walked into the establishment, to the finish work of the installment at our home. Everyone was friendly, and very professional. We are so thrilled with the quality and look of our new carpet!! read more

This was the second time we used this firm. They first time they sold us and install carpeting in our Master bedroom. This time we needed flooring for two bathrooms. They had a wide range of materials from which to select. They sent a person to take measurements. He arrived on time. When they materials arrived, they were exactly what we ordered. The installer did a great job in both bathrooms and left the place spotless. We ordered top quality materials and spent more that we had budgeted. But as my wife often reminds me - you get what you pay for. This company has at least two military veterans. We will use them again. read more

We just had Abbey Carpet Floor install carpet and Luxury Vinyl Planking (LVP) on about 1200 Sq ft in hour house.. LVP was installed in the living room, master bedroom, office and guest bedroom. New carpeting was installed on the stairs and upstairs hallway. I'll start with the customer service provided by LJ in the showroom when came in "just to look" on a Saturday afternoon. He was extremely polite, cordial and knowledgeable. He picked up very quickly on what we were looking for. We actually made a decision on the LVP and carpet in one day!! The installation crew of Jason and Richard were awesome!!! Jason is extremely meticulous and detail oriented. He offered great advice on how to make the install look as good as possible. He was a true professional in all respects. Thank you for a great experience that typically could have been very stressful. I would recommend using Abbey Carpet and Floor to anybody looking for a high quality installation. I would also request Jason as the installer. read more

We are very pleased with our new carpet from Abbey Carpet. The showroom had an excellent selection. Jason helped us find some choices within our budget while working with us patiently to choose the best color. He kept us up to date upon our shipment when requested and communicated clearly about setting up our installation. Jason was on time with his measurement appointment. The installers also arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. They did excellent work with the installation and left the house totally clean inside out and out. We recommend Abbey Carpet and would start with them as our first choice for any future flooring. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with the high quality work that has completely transformed our home. We decided to rid ourselves of our aging and tearing faux Berber carpeting and on the advice of our designer, Connie Walsh, asked Oceanside Abbey to do the work. It was a big job - over 2,400 square feet of Tuscany hickory hardwood, chosen because the color went perfectly with the travertine we have downstairs and because of its ability to resist scratches and wear. Installer Jason Franklin and his crack team of installers did an outstanding job, to the point where me - the ultimate nitpicker - couldn't find a single thing that needed redoing when the final inspection came around. Jason and his team also finished in time and brought in a stellar crew to do our stairs - which are so beautiful that a week after completion I still find myself at the top landing, staring down and admiring the quality of the work. The stairs were not easy, with lots of curves, but the job that was done is simply flawless. There are other little things as well: in my closet, lined with cedar, Jason went out of his way to find beading that perfectly matched, instead of using beading he had earmarked for other areas in the house. The job was finished exactly on time, and Jason and crew went room by room, so once they were done with one room I could clean and rearrange furniture while they went on to the next one. This company also has a lot of integrity. A friend of mine knows the company that provided the wood, and was able to get a discounted price. In my next conversation with Ken Calkin, the owner, before I could even mention this he said "You must know someone because they reduced the price of the wood, and I'm going to pass the savings on to you." He did precisely that - to the penny! (Yes, I checked. I am like that.) I highly recommend this company - they did an absolutely superb job. I've posted some photos of just one room - and of course the stairs! read more

After my longtime canine companion passed and went to puppy heaven I decided to finally make some long anticipated improvements to my home. Bucking the current trend to install laminated flooring, I chose to install new carpeting in my two bedrooms and my living room. Being kind of OCD, it took me some additional time to decide on the color and type of carpet to purchase. Working with L.J. Fimbres was a blessing, and he made my selection process much easier. He is very knowledgeable and was quite patient with me, since I borrowed an endless number sample to take home. He is very engaging and an excellent salesman. On installation day I was very fortunate to have Pedro and Richie be assigned my install. Both gentlemen were very courteous and sensitive to my concerns when moving the bigger furniture pieces. As far as the installation was concerned, they were very efficient and always kept the floorspace as clean as possible. Upon completion, the carpet was beautiful and there was no residual carpet material anywhere to be found. Very clean installation. The final product was exactly as L.J. had promised and I was completely satisfied with my purchase and my dealings with Abbey Carpets. Should I chose to follow-up with additional improvements, you can be sure I will return to Abbey Carpets. read more

SO glad we chose Oceanside Abbey Carpet for our new flooring! I told Stephanie, our customer service rep, that I wish I needed more flooring just to use them again! We had 4 bedrooms redone with new carpet, and our LR/DR area done with vinyl flooring that looks just like dark wood. It's beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Everything was done in 3 days. The installers were friendly and extremely efficient, moving all furniture out of the way. (It was our job to remove everything but furniture.) They also installed new baseboard, caulking and finished to perfection. Stephanie helped us in the showroom, pointing out choices, and came to the house the next day to measure the rooms. AND, the price was right. Would definitely use them again and would recommend them to everyone without hesitation! Absolutely NO complaints!! read more

August 14, 2020 On July 28, I finalized purchase of hardwood flooring with Ken Calkin, from Abbey Flooring in Oceanside. There are so many positives about this entire experience that it's difficult to keep my review short, but I will try. Ken arrived [on time] with samples we had discussed over the phone. When I had made a selection, the wood was ordered. Ken said he'd let me know when it was ready for delivery & installation. Within a week, I got that call and work began. Ken is a Marine Corps veteran who has been with Abbey for 20+ years. That along with his professional demeanor reassured me that I had made a good call. I admit that the idea of getting a handyman to install the flooring crossed my mind--a lot of people would. But in retrospect, seeing the difficulty of leveling floors, removing and re-installing baseboards, cutting with precision, and God knows what else, I wholeheartedly recommend Abbey's flooring professionals, especially Jason. Jason also has been in the business over 20 years. Jason Franklin (and his crew of Richard and Ethan) came on time, every day. Jason texted me if they were running late, getting things they needed for the job. He kept me updated daily and made installation suggestions that would enhance my home. Turned out that made his work more difficult, but it was the right way. Every afternoon, areas where they'd worked were swept and cleaned, including driveway and patio. I was comfortable leaving for work, giving Jason my garage remote so he could lock up. Every day, doors and windows were closed and locked. Jason always left a path for me to negotiate the organized chaos. When each area was completed, the guys replaced the furniture where they'd found it, with felt pads put on feet to prevent scratching. Jason also gave me the name of wood floor cleaner he recommended, and got me a good mop to use. At the end of the job, Jason provided me with a touchup stick & recommended that I order a box of flooring in case there was a need to patch anywhere in the future. I ordered it. All in all, Jason treated my home as he would his own. Compared to huge jobs they secure (one was over $300,000), I felt like my house was just as important to them. Without a doubt, they respected me and my space. I will always be thankful for the amazing job done. read more

We recently purchased carpeting from Abbey. Our sales person, Stephanie, was very helpful and patient (it took me 6 months and several samples taken home before I picked the one I wanted). She was always upbeat and encouraged us to take samples home so we could see the carpet in the areas of our house where it would be installed. The installation was easy and the installers - Mauricio and his son Mauricio Jr. - were efficient, and considerate of our home. They did a great job and even cut a couple pieces of the scrap for us to use under our old dog's bed. Overall, I would definitely recommend this business. It was low pressure, pleasant, and we are happy with our new carpet. read more

Stephanie is an amazing asset to Abbey Carpet. She is knowledgeable, personable, efficient, professional - all those adjectives you look for in a sales rep. Incredible experience working with Stephanie at Abbey Carpet in Oceanside. Searched all over town and online for the ideal flooring and came across this place and found exactly what I was looking for to update our entryway, kitchen and living room. LJ and Regina are AWESOME!! I am so thrilled, once again, to have used this great company when it was time to replace the carpets they put down years ago! I now have gorgeous wood laminate or whatever it's called, and it looks fabulous-it has made my 40 yr old home look so up-to-date and elegant! LJ was invaluable in helping me pick the color-I asked him not to bring too many, as I have 'picking' problems LOL and he brought 4, and we narrowed them down and I could not be happier!! Highly recommend for the second time! read more

I had an amazing experience with Ken at Philips Abbey Carpet. I was actually referred to them by a realtor on a blog. I was a bit skeptical at first as I didn't know the realtor but true to his recommendation, this company was fantastic to deal with. We recently bought a gorgeous house and it had beautiful Pecan hardwood flooring downstairs but the upstairs and the staircase was carpeting (which we hate). So we decided to replace it. Ken with the company came out and he measured the entire upstairs as well as the staircase. 4 of the 5 bedrooms in the house are upstairs. Fortunately the previous owner had a sample from the downstairs but Ken discovered that the manufacturer no longer made that exact wood flooring any more but he ordered in several samples and I chose the one that was the closest match. He originally told me that it would take about 2 weeks to finish the job. It was about 2,200 sq. feet upstairs plus the staircase. I also hired him to change out some carpet inlay in some of the rooms and it also turned out beautifully. His team showed up on time and these guys were VERY hard workers. He sent in a larger team of guys to work and believe it or not they finished the entire job within 1 week! The guys had a strong work ethic and mostly worked around the clock from 7:30 AM until late afternoon. The workers had done several houses in the area, including San Diego's Chargers QB, Philip Rivers so I knew I was in good hands. We love the new flooring! Definitely I'd high recommend this company and if you can, request Carlos and his team. They were fantastic. Based on my experience I'd recommend this company for any flooring needs including hardwood flooring, bathroom flooring or carpeting. I ended up ordering several thousands of dollars in rugs for the house and a slight disappointment was that it took longer than expected to get them. But to show you the level of quality and commitment and quality control, when the rugs were getting the edges on them, they noticed some quality control issues so they have to redo them. So they say it will take a few weeks more. But I'm glad they caught it before delivering them. These guys were fantastic to deal with. Ken was always very responsive to my calls and emails which is important to me. All in all we spent about $25,000 with this company but well worth it and highly recommended. read more
