Like no other. When you think about places like NYC, the big appeal (imho) is the immediacy of things. If you want great art, you've got it. Great theater, you've got it. Great food, you've got it. Great music..... in spades. Terraza7 is maybe one of the greatest places you could visit in NYC. It's a music hall like no other, simultaneously offering some of the best music in a unique and intimate setting. They have a downstairs and an upstairs. I was recently here to listen to some Afro-Peruvian jazz. What a phenomenal time. I felt truly blessed to experience such magic. The music and talent were genius and what enhanced everything is audience interactions. If you're in the area, I genuinely feel like you have a responsibility to go and experience it for yourself. Terraza 7 is a local business located between Jackson Heights and Elmhurst, with live music that varies every night, sometimes outside, sometimes on the second floor. The bar is small inside, but they have a great patio within summer and make a great attraction for nice drinks and a few bites while listening to live music. The staffs are super friendly, attentive, and careful to make sure that you are happy and have everything you need. The drinks and beer options are great. The food has a great tapas option to share, while you enjoy the live music the drinks but unfortunately will not recommend this place for dinner because there not a that big portion or heavy meal. A gem. Amazing performance in an intimate setting. The perfect authentic New York experience.

Small and awkwardly designed space, but they make function. They have outdoor seating area. However, we were there to see a group perform. They have limited seating so we were stuck in the main floor looking at a screen while hearing them live above us. We had beer and tapas. Cider chorizo and a cheese platter which for both I was pleasantly surprised they were delicious. The group tool pity on us and performed downstairs, this was my best part of the night! For those in the know, Terraza 7 (or Terrace 7) is one of the coolest venues throughout the borough. Somewhat hidden from the bustle of Roosevelt Avenue, this is an easy choice to enjoy a drink or two, while listening to some of the best live music available in the borough. The music is an interesting variable, as I've heard everything from Latin blues to obscure jazz. There isn't always music playing, but catch the place at the right night and it's more often popping than not. It also helps that this place is open every night till 4am. From a layout perspective, the space is quite interesting. The bottom floor is where the bar is, along with limited seating and the only bathroom in the venue. Upstairs is where a band would play, along with some tight seating surrounding the set. It is a pretty sweet setup overall and despite people walking above, there isn't any dirt flying into people's drinks below. Usually if there is an act upstairs, a cover may be enforced. I really appreciate the bartenders, who aside from being Spanish speaking friendly, are committed to keeping the drinks nice and stiff. They do make a killer mojito and a variety of other Latin based drinks, but their Cumbía Amazónica (pisco, kiwi juice, bitters, rosemary) from their specialties menus is a $10 drink well spent. Their Tierra Prometida (tequila, pomegranate, mint) is also a personal favorite. They also take credit cards now, which was not always the case. I've been told that depending on the schedule, this place is also a spot for literary events, film screenings, and community discussions. I appreciate the creative use of their space and the progressive mindset that is behind the operation. My only complaint if any, is the fact this place is uncomfortably stuffy during the warm weather months and the bathroom could use a cleaning every so often. I'll still be coming back and am looking forward to their next big event! read more

Just the coolest place with a mezzanine music venue - the accoustics are amazing and not blaring. We saw a hot hot hot Latin jazz combo with tap dancers including Max Pollack, who actually is one of six tap dancers who were honored with their own US Postal Service stamp!!! The first Sunday of the month from 6 to 8 (started and ended on time because there was another music group performing. A unique experience. My poetic adventure finds me here at Terraza for "Jackson Heights Poetry Festival." This is not a cafe per se as it is a bar lounge for live music and poetic performances dive-y ish appeal for jam sessions of emerging artists. There is no food served here, thus I advise patrons/ music spectators to eat something before arriving here. Here lies a small suspended midair metal stage in a loft style on the upper level which depicts an illusion to be disillusion. It was rattling while I walked to the microphone and its crate floor base is surely intimidating as it does not feel secure. Yet Terraza houses good acoustic with a clear audible microphone without the annoyance of an echo for voice lag when propped on the microphone stand. Seating for spectators is three tier wooden bleachers of a high school gym and only one exit/entrance to this upper loft. The exit/entrance is a very narrow ill-advise configuration. On the lower level sits the bar and the bar tender is attentive to serving patrons with my Seltzer water at an utter dismay of $3.00. I believe there is Happy Hour available. There is one unisex facility which houses an eye sore male urinal and a pipe expose faucet with a broken hot left knob. The cold right knob is functioning but oblivious how to turn it on. read more

If I can give this place no stars I would. We called a head there was no problem. We entered the host told us to wait. We were greeted by the manager who looked at us. And said he can seat us, without a reservation. The place was empty. We simply said okay. Until we read the guidelines. Tucked away on a small side street off of Roosevelt, Terraza 7 offers a cozy second-story loft with a reasonable cover charge for live music. The scene is vibrant, and the vibe and surrounding neighborhood make the Modelo on draft feel like the right choice here. Thank you yelp for taking me here. I was on my way to Las Margaritas when I decided to look on yelp and see if I can try something new. BANG! I saw Terraza. My boyfriend and I decided to detour and head here. Aren't we glad we did. As I walked out of my car and made our way over, we can here the wonderful sounds of jazz all the way down the block. I walked in and I felt as if I were somewhere in the Village. I definitely didn't feel I was in Jackson Heights anymore. I grabbed a "Coconut mojito" it was so good, and headed upstairs. They have a cover charge of $7 if you sit upstairs but it is and was Totally worth it. My BF was so excited since he is into music and his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. The wonderful sounds I heard were from Benito Gonzalez who is a an amazing pianist and his Bass and drum players were just out of this world. They won't be returning till June :/ You can feel The passion that poured out of their bodies. Very cool spot and I definitely will be returning. read more

It's one of the few, if only, art and music lounge in our area. It's decor and atmosphere is rustic and adds to its character. It's character is represented in their own creation of cocktails and the diverse forms of art show cased. From documentaries with follow up Q&A with its director to jazz to underground bands. It really addresses the need of art and music exploration and appreciation in our area. Here is hoping that the owner will reopen soon at a nearby location as it has been said that their lease is up and 12/31/16 is their last day. Please come back soon. If you haven't gone, go now! "Terraza 7" is a bar and lounge. It definitely is different then any place I've been to before. The front door alone is beautiful. Nice wood and equally impressive color scheme. Walking in I noticed this place has two levels. It also had a live band playing so I thought that was a plus. The place didn't feel modern, but I guess that's what they were going for. I decided to goto the second floor and check out the band up close. I was immediately stopped by a woman, who was rude by the way and she wanted to charge me $12 to be on the second level. I told her no thanks and retreated back to the lower level. That almost made me want to leave, but the music and people made it hard. Plus the beautiful women inside. I hung around and was impressed with the selection of libations they offered. I'm not a drinker, but you can see they definitely had what people wanted. I sat at a tall boy table and enjoyed the music with my friend. No one was really dancing. But I had fun with some local patrons before heading out. I would come again, but bring more people because mostly everyone who came were in groups. It's definitely worth another visit. Who knows maybe next time I might fork over $12 to sit like a king on the second floor. read more

I am highly disappointed by this establishment. After reading the reviews I was excited to check this place out. I arrived with a group of friends, only to be approached by a rude female bartender. However, I did not let that ruin my night. After 30 minutes of waiting for our order, I asked how much longer it would be for the empanadas (which the bartender made sure to let me know were pre-packaged btw) and she informed she had not put in the order because she was not sure I actually wanted the empanadas. After letting her know that yes I wanted the order she started screaming at me franticly telling me it was my fault she had not placed the order before. I have never experienced such bad customer service before. The other two gentlemen who were behind the counter were kind enough to apologize for the situation. Even though the place looks small when you first walk in, there are stairs to an upstairs area with seating and a small stage for live music performances. Live music as I was informed by one of the bartenders begins at 10:00pm with a second set beginning 15 minutes after the first set concludes. By 1:00am the band stops playing but the music continues. Stepping in here is like being transported to a Latin county, the vibe is festive friendly and relaxed. I tried the coconut mojito and WOW was it perfectly strong and sweet. My wife and I got here after a live performance one night I was disappointed we missed it because the crowd was still there and they looked like they just finished having a good time. Fantastic bar for so many reasons...I had amazing service, drinks garnished with orchids and the MUSIC was fabulous. Was a Moroccan musician named, "Brahim Frigbane ". He seemed to have a pick up band with a fantastic Indian violinist and the pianist was brilliant. Terraza 7 Train is a laid-back boho bar, just south of Roosevelt Ave, under the ever-atmospheric 7 Train tracks. While the clientele is largely Hispanic, the vibe is welcoming to all types of people. The pictures of Che Guevara and the funky décor give it a renegade character, while the artsy types who flock here (many Spanish speakers) transport a newcomer to a scene that is probably more akin to a trendy café/bar in Mexico City or Buenos Aires than an otherwise gritty part of Queens. Is Terraza the best bar to strike a chord with the artsy crowd east of Queens Plaza? Probably. Is it worth the trip from Manhattan or the other Boroughs? Depends on your level of adventure. What Terraza remains is a nice and friendly safe-haven in an otherwise chaotic stretch of peso bars and gay/strip nightclubs on Roosevelt Ave. If you are lucky, try to come on one of the nights where Terraza is featuring live music. Just don't sit too close to the stage (which is elevated on the rafters above the main bar). The place gets pretty loud - so loud that it even drowns out the rumbling of the near-by 7 Train. Quite an accomplishment! Added benefit: Terraza is literally on the same block as the mind-blowing Jackson Heights taco truck, Tacos Guicho.
