Came here because my boyfriend and his mom wanted some quick eats before going to Spa Castle which has super expensive food. We came across this hidden gem. It was a lot better than I thought it would be given that it was a tiny empty place. I ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki box, which came with your choice of white or fried rice, spring rolls, dumplings, and a small salad. All that for about $8-10 I don't quite remember. But it was totally worth it. My boyfriend ordered the same thing as me and his mom ordered the salmon teriyaki which she enjoyed very much as well. Affordable lam yummy teriyaki stuff :) great alternative to Chinese take out if you've gotten tired of it. I would go for any of the teriyaki plates, the portions are big and full of yums. I've had a couple of their rolls, and I'd pass on those and stick to their namesake. It isn't that their rolls are bad, I'd just go elsewhere for it since there are plenty of roll places around that are better for it. Wil definitely come back for some teriyaki goodness! read more

Great prices and great tasting food. I had the chicken teryaki and since I try to avoid rice in general, I just asked them for no rice and more vegetables. It's 50 cents more but the meal is cheap anyway so it was fine. I also ordered salmon and avocado sushi. The food was cooked and and tastes great. Place is relatively clean and customer service is great. I spent a total of $12 on chicken teryaki, 8 piece sushi and water. Not bad for living in NYC where Japanese food is more expensive than that. Ughhhhh finally a teriyaki chicken spot near my home that I can just drive to and the best of all it is in a plaza so there is parking! This is a go to spot when I crave teriyaki chicken. They are a fairly new store so they have specials such as buy one chicken teriyaki get the second one 50% off. They also have a card stamping system if you accumulate up to 5 stamp ( 5 orders) you get one free. Extra chicken is $1.50 extra but well worth it in my opinion. The yummy yum yum sauce is 50 cent extra. I also tried their sushi rolls and they were fresh and good as well. I tried the sakura store which happen to be within the same plaza and I did not like it at all! This teriyaki place is a winner! Employee there are welcoming and nice. Ever since the Sarku across this mall let me down, I had high hopes for this place. The reason Sarku in malls is so good is for being fresh and that's were Teriyaki One went right. They make all the chicken and meats to order, so even if it might take a little longer, it'll always be fresh. Furthermore, they always offer up extra sauce at the end, which in my opinion is the best part of the dish. The restaurant first opened and lured me in with $4 chicken teriyaki specials. After one more try at Sarku, I realized this truly was the better restaurant in not only taste, but customer relations. At their competitor, it was very hard to get extra sauce since the kitchen was so far towards the back and they always had mounds of cooked chicken, waiting to be put on beds of rice. Overall, if you're stuck between where to get chicken teriyaki at this shopping center, look no further than Teriyaki One! Came here for the first time recently and there's a lot to like about this place. It's very nice and clean inside with lots of tables to sit at. I also like the fact that you can watch them make the food behind the counter- pretty cool. The food was made fairly quickly as well and the staff was nice. I ordered one of their lunch boxes which had beef, rice, fried wontons and mini egg rolls. It was pretty good for the most part. The beef and rice was the best part. I walk in to look up at the menu, I ask a question and it's like I just committed a crime. If I do get an answer without an attitude it's just a one word answer. Not cool. Very very disappointed with their horrible customer service and portions which have been getting smaller and smaller. People behind the counter are absolutely clueless and were having trouble reading the tickets. Today, I called in a very small order at 1130am for 12pm pick up. I got there at 1158 to find the wasn't even started yet, at 12:15 I finally had enough and asked for a refund which they handed right over without even saying a word. Not, hold one a minute the order will be right out. No, I am sorry. Nothing! Please note when I arrived there was NO ONE on line and the restaurant was nearly empty. This place is right off the service road for the Whitestone Expressway in a shopping center with many other places to eat. But this place with it's black background sign with giant red lettering is super easy to pick out and doesn't get lost with all the other signage. Walk inside and you'll see a nice renovated space. It's super clean and new but also always freezing inside which is great in the summer but not so much in the winter. The food is really good for the price. I recommend the chicken bento box which I believe is the best deal on the menu. You get chicken over fried rice, dumplings, spring rolls, and a salad if you want a fountain drink it's extra as well as the fried rice upgrade extra chicken too. With Sarku Japan in the square, you'd think the new dog on the block (Teriyaki One) would be opening there to challenge Sarku in terms of being able to provide better food and a cheaper price. Otherwise, why open a similar restaurant in a place with that niche already filled, right? Teriyaki One was slightly cheaper (I'm talking cents) than Sarku, but the food was awful. I ordered the chicken teriyaki special and my girlfriend had the shrimp teriyaki, both with fried rice. The fried rice managed to be soggy, yet clumped up and tasted bland. It looked more like dog food than fried rice. The chicken and shrimp were both average. If you're looking for cheap, fast food style teriyaki food, go for Sarku instead. Eating at Teriyaki One made me want a refund for my stomach, meaning, I wish I could have uneaten that garbage and saved the room in my stomach for something else. I ordered the shrimp bento box and my sister ordered the beef bento box. We both got fried rice instead of steamed rice. They give really generous portions for the price. The dressing on the salad is really good. It's creamy but light. They give vegetable spring rolls instead of the typical California roll with the bento box. The spring rolls are crunchy and good. So are the dumplings. The only thing I think they could improve on is that the fried rice needs more flavor. Overall very good and I hope they do well. read more

I love the chicken here! Usually the chicken i get elsewhere is either dry. If you are like me and you love your chicken tender and juicy, Teriyaki One is a great spot to visit. They give you a stamp card where if you purchase 5 Bentos/Teriyaki meals, you get the 6th chicken teriyaki for free.
