Going here as a non Asian who's unable to read the menus original text makes it really difficult to understand what your ordering. The menu should be revised so customers who can't read Japanese know exactly what they're ordering. For the 180 dollars I spent this was an extremely disappointing experience. A majority of the food received did not look like the photos on the menu. The meat was low quality and seemed cheap. The portions were tiny and you have to keep ordering multiple of the same things. Unlike Korean bbq or Chinese bbq when you're ordering the portions given are just sample size. 3 to 4 small cut portions of meat. The chicken wings served look nothing like the photos and are honestly really bad. When checking out my bill had an extra drink on it that I never ordered and it took 15 mins to be corrected. It felt like they thought I was lying and needed to review video or something because I had 3 other waiters come talk to me while I waited for a resolution. If you want Japanese barbecue (actually good quality marinated meats; pickled sides that aren't coming out of a jar) go to Gyukaku. All of the cuts of beef were frozen beforehand and thawed in a way that affected the texture of the meat. They don't actually marinate anything -- when you order a "marinated" meat, someone in the back grabs the slices of meat and squirts some sauce on them, then they go out. The sides included plain tofu with a squirt of sauce on them (not even mixed in) and American pickles they cut up to give it a more Japanese presentation. They cut corners on everything about the food and it was tremendously disappointing. Decent price for good quality of AYCE meats (~$60 on a Saturday pre-tax + tip). Came as a group of 4 at 7pm and there was luckily a table available right away. They give you an iPad to order off of and start the table off with their banchan platter, which was very good! Good amount of meat and soft drink options to order from and the service is pretty attentive. You close your meal out with a nice mochi. This might be one of my favorite Japanese bbq places I've been to! I've been seeing the long lines for this place for a while now, but coming in on a weekday, seating was instant. They have an AYCE menu as well as some other à la carte items. Their AYCE menu was their Japanese bbq but also included sushi as well. The only reason why it's not 5 stars is because for the price, it does not include the dry aged beef and they do not include the bubble tea. That is an additional cost at $8/ounce of dry aged beef. And if you want drinks aside from Fountain drinks, everything is an additional cost. To be fair, the drink prices are pretty standard restaurant prices like a beer mug is $7.99. Sake cans and bottles are also available for additional cost. The price includes most items on the digital menu and a free mochi ice cream dessert. Tried this and to be candid, most AYCE places I'm skeptical of. I was surprised at how spacious it was. Design-wise, felt like something you'd see in Asia. You have 90 minutes to eat, 70 minutes to order. So be weary of the time limit, you will not get a final order warning. Keep an eye on ordering because once you're at 70, the menu will lock out and no more orders can be placed. It's a gas grill with a very thing wire grid. The heat is pretty intense so you can get these wonderful sears. I don't need to tell you but don't fill up on the rice and fried goodies. The thick cut pork jowl is marinated in miso and you get this smoky, salty, just umami-rich bite. Amazing stuff. The beef tongue is quite thin and if you sear it hard enough - it almost reminds you of fatty beef but not quite as fatty. If that makes sense. Of all the steak cuts, the wagyu thick-cut chuck is what we got the most of. All-in, comes to about $70 pp which is not terrible considering you can get as crazy as you'd like. Each portion you order is about 4 very thin slices of meat, so you have to order a lot at once. My party of 4 cleared about 65 orders of food. Service was good, and non alcoholic beverages (fountain drinks) are included in the cost. Our main issue with this place is that every single beef dish tastes the same. Nothing differentiated any of the cuts (besides the mixed yakiniku meat in a soy sauce pot which was a thicker cut). Lets start with the good, the service was great refills on drinks were very easy, they changed our grill when it needed to be changed and offered suggestions on what they liked on the menu. The shrimp came peeled which was a nice touch under the circumstances. The yakiniku meat was pretty good and well seasoned. The bad, honestly all the sides tasted like they had grabbed a bag of frozen food from a supermarket and heated it up the buldak shrimp tempura tasted like buldak sauce on a costco tempura. Ambience: the decor and atmosphere was modern and slightly higher end. Walking in, they had a glass case with dry aged meats on display. Might be different on weekends, but there is a small seating area in the front where you can sit on the floor and there is plenty to do in tangram in the meantime. I think the price of $54.99pp for M-Th, and $59.99pp F-Sun is a great value for AYCE. Soft drinks are included. There is a 90min dining time and you are able to order dry aged meat for an additional cost. The variety is decent, but items are a hit or a miss. I was not a fan of the clams and cold noodles. Came here with a few friends for my birthday and we all left satisfied with full bellies. Tried this place for my birthday the other day and I absolutely loved everything that we ordered. This place is All You Can Eat so just be mindful of how full you are before reserving. We were given 90 minutes to order from a tablet (very easy to navigate). I am not too sure of everything we ordered but we received the platter of appetizers first, followed closely by our tablet order. Not only did the food arrive to the table very quickly but the presentation for everything was on point as well. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and we found a couple of Labubus hidden around that we took some photos with. This is a newly opened Japanese BBQ restaurant with a 90-minute all-you-can-eat setup. Overall, the food quality is pretty good, the environment is clean and comfortable, and the service is excellent. The menu focuses mainly on beef, which has more variety than pork and chicken. The beef generally tastes better, and you can tell they pay more attention to it. I ate mostly beef tongue, which is very tasty. However, it's served in thin slices, only about four pieces each time. I wish they offered a thick-cut version of beef tongue for more texture. Other beef options are also quite good. Some of the signature cuts, including a long strip of beef, are tender, juicy, and flavorful. There's even a beef dish with wasabi on top, which is unique and surprisingly tasty. Pork is a bit tougher, maybe because of how I grilled it myself, but still acceptable. They also offer chicken cartilage, which is rare in NYC BBQ restaurants. The menu is on the iPad and you can place an order through the iPad from the table. It's AYCE and the experience was not mind blowing. Pretty limited bbq menu in the context of competition in the neighborhood. While the quality of the meat was good, it was extremely thinly sliced. Also the server who was cooking the meat was quite busy with multiple tables so the thinly sliced meat was quite overcooked and chewy. After a couple batches of overcooked/ burnt meat, we just took over and it was smoother sailing from there. While the meat selections were limited, they offer some options of ready to eat entree offerings like bibimbap, cold noodles, beef rice. Arrived on a Sunday evening for dinner, and the place was packed (rightfully so). Fortunately, the manager who goes by Ricky went above and beyond to secure me a fast seating despite me not even having to wait that long (clearly already goes to show they take service very seriously). Was seated and greeted by my server who goes by the name Julia who explains the menu to me in detail and it seems like they offer ayce at $59.99 (which is completely fair imo, which I will get into very soon). The menu has a huge variety of bbq meats and appetizers that you can choose from. I've tried about almost every cut and I can confidently say they are all of very good quality, very clean taste as well. My server Julia, also came by very so often to grill for me as well as check up on me to see if everything was ok or if I needed anything. The manager Ricky would also stop by every so often to check up on me as well (again, the service is over the top, which is undoubtedly a welcoming experience). The environment is very spacious with lots of tables fit for various sizes of groups to dine in, the dim lighting and ambiance gave off a very calm and serene type of atmosphere that I think really elevated my dining experience, and I think it's especially suitable for date nights if you're looking for such a place. Overall, I must give this place a 5 stars for the good quality food(priced very fairly at $59.99 btw), above and beyond service, and very unique ambiance. For being $65 per person for AYCE, the serving size, table limit (90 minutes), and ordering limit (70minutes) did not meet up to the expectations for the price. The portion size for each cut of meat were small, okay-quality pieces. If you want to get your moneys worth, you'll have to keep on ordering multiple portions. They have very limited vegetable options as well- we got zucchini and mushroom. The rice and noodle portions were provided in smaller bowls than expected. Their (shrimp) tempura and takoyaki were just alright (the portions were also small). They provide you with large drinks (sodas, tea, water) and the soda was pretty flat. Compared to other BBQ grill places, my clothes didn't smell like smoke. Service was nice, particularly 2 of the wait staff (a lady and man) were friendly and spoke English. There was one staff that struggled answering a question and had to answer us in terms of gestures. Staff made sure to verify allergies. For the price point, the selection isn't much compared to other BBQ places in flushing. Onto food, we mostly focused on the beef dishes, majority were sliced thin like hot pot beef---so it cooked quickly and was quite fatty. We ordered pork but our order never came. Usually after placing order on iPad, a staff would review it with you. We didn't taste much difference between the sweet soy and the miso (tastes similar), the garlic beef was basically chopped garlic on slices of beef. The favorite was the house special marinated beef (which is limited 2 orders per table as per wait staff), the way they presented it was in a sauce bottle (like the one with a spout that usually would have soy sauce in it). The presentation of that dish was a bit confusing. We liked the sake clams, but no one explained how long to cook it (apparently it's until there's steam coming out of the foil), the taste was good but a lot of the clams had sand in it. Appetizers were presented nicely in cubicle display (looks similar to momoya). They are the exact things listed in the sides and vegetables section, so I would wait for the appetizer to come out before ordering veggies and sides. The cold noodles is nothing to write home about, it wasn't tangy enough and it was warm, portion was small. Soda fountain drinks are included with the meal (they also serve in a HUGE cup, we didn't get refills). Their spicy cold tofu was not spicy at all, it was in a sesame dressing which was misleading. The cucumber were like the American style pickles. In my honest opinion for about $70 per person (Includes tip), is not worth. Ambiance is nice, place is clean there is bathroom available towards the back. Music playing in the restaurant was EDM/rave music so it felt kind of weird. Time limit is 90 minutes if I remember correctly. When leaving no one said thank you, so we only got greeted as we entered. Also left a bunch of pastries in a bag hanging on the chair but forgot, the establishment had our phone number and no one called us. Excellent value compared to other barbecue/yakiniku establishments in the area. There may be a wait time if you go during the typical dinner time on a weekend. However there is plenty to do in the mall while you wait. We came on a Friday night and were told that we would need to wait about 30 minutes, we ended up waiting for 7 minutes. The freshness of the meat offerings is much greater in comparison. The thickness of the cuts and the flavor fit the yakiniku style well. Service was much quicker than other all-you-can-eat restaurants - it is much easier to order to the amount you want without waiting and the price point is very competitive. All the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience. read more
