I love this place when I want a variety of foods. It's always fresh and good when I go. This time I experienced something new which was a whole fish. Either way still a good place to go

Great food and an all you can eat a buffet plus the variety of seafood that they offer is delicious with a friendly customer service despite where your origin is. They just create or have a great ambiance thus you enjoy your meal which is cost effective

This spot has little consideration for covid concerns AND the well-being of their customers health. Let me explain. - Staff walked around and did not properly wear their mask - Other customers walked around without their masks and no staff told them otherwise - Chicken was very undercooked and even the beef was unacceptably raw Not a lot of food options either as everything was cut down due to covid. At least our waitress was very attentive in making sure our table stayed clean. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not worth the visit.

Diversity of seafood, options for those allergic to seafood (I am allergic). The price is very good, very cheap. Service was good. Variety of desserts and good options. The environment is very peaceful. The meat was delicious. Thank you so much for serving us.

Great service, excellent food. I won $20 from the mini claw machine. It is a nice place to take the family for a night out

Mediocre food. I recommend you try another place unless you are simply looking for cheap group dining.

How much per person?

Well, it is a "ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET" and based on whether or not you go for LUNCH or Dinner will dictate the price per person. It is fair. It is affordable and I forgot but I think the cost may be somewhere around $11.99 per person or more.… Read more

We thought it was a little pricey but the quality of meats was very good. And the amount of food you get was really a lot and this is coming from a heavy hitter at AYCE restaurants. They also included dessert. I only wish they allowed for AYCE options AND à la carte options, like Gyuzo Japanese BBQ in Rockville. It turns out they're owned by the same company. You must come very hungry to get your money's worth.

Bring your appetite for an expensive feast…read more Gyu San is an all-you-can-eat Japanese joint with a focus on bbq. Expect to pay a lot but in return, gain access to unlimited top tier meats from the land and sea. Gyu San offers three levels of dining. The entire table must have the same level, so talk to your other diners before ordering what level you'd like to go for: Basic gives you their lowest quality cuts of meat and a handful of seafood options and side dishes. This is great for people who want to get their money's worth, especially when pairing their meal with Gyu San's extensive alcoholic cocktail menu. Their middle level offers a larger variety of beef, pork, and seafood, and side dishes. The middle level also offers ramen. The ramen is good, but extremely filling, so I advise avoiding it. This level also includes a one order-per customer wagyu sampler. This is a MUST include to get your money's worth and it will be the highlight of your meal. One of the sides you can unlock at this level is wagyu burgers. While these burgers are great, with a spicy sauce that is fantastic, they sit in your stomach and make it harder to eat more of the unlimited BBQ. If you must try it, order one and split it among your table. The final and most expensive level opens up an all wagyu menu, taking the one-time sampler from the second level and giving you as much as you can handle. In addition, you'll get one order of five unique appetizers, each carefully crafted around high end seafood and wagyu. Each person at the table can also pay an extra $5 for all you can eat sushi, and their sushi is good. If you're ordering from the low tier meats, then adding sushi is worth it for adding variety and good values. For more money saving, you can become a member by asking your server or host, though its only worth it if you plan on coming to Gyu San more often. Gyu San is a high cost, high caloric, and highly flavorful meal experience, best left as an ultimate treat-your-self with friends and family.

We made the drive from DC to check out this sushi gem in Laurel, and it was absolutely worth it. Happy Hour runs from 4 PM to 7 PM, and the deals are the kind that make you want to come back again next week. Sushi is half-priced (yes, half!), sake is just $4, and shooters are $6. In this economy? That's a win. Do yourself a favor and grab a seat at the bar. Deidra was our bartender, and she was top-tier--attentive, friendly, and on point the entire time. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work, and she definitely does. Great service makes good food even better. Plenty of parking, strong drinks, fresh and flavorful sushi--no fluff, just facts. If you're willing to take a short drive for a solid Happy Hour that delivers on value and quality, this Laurel sushi spot deserves a visit. Sometimes the old-fashioned way is still the best way: good food, good prices, and great service.

The server was attentive and pleasant. It wasn't very crowded. In fact, no one was on the hibachi side. Most of the patrons sat at the bar watching the news. Oh, I had the Lychee Martini-delish! My cousin had a shooter (I don't remember the name). I treated my cousin for his birthday- two drinks, 6 different cooked sushi dishes and the fried chicken, with included 18% added, plus an added tip was exactly $73.00. For sure, I'd return. I'd even go by myself and have dinner at the bar. Very very Casual dress is appropriate. The only qualm is the reservation process. I emailed 4 days ago. I received an immediate response indicating that someone would call me back. When I didn't hear from anyone, I called last night. I was told that 2 people walking in at 5:30 on a Tuesday would be fine- it was.

My go-to sushi place in columbia!…read more Food: 5/5 I cannot rave more about the freshness of the sushi here. I am a lover of tuna and regardless of the roll I order, specialty or regular tuna, they are all delicious. Even the spicy tuna rolls, which can just taste mushy and like filler at other places, is pleasantly filled with tuna. Highly recommend the samurai roll (bottom roll in my photo). Service: 5/5 always quick and kind service, and the owners visit the tables to make sure everything is going well. Ambiance: quiet restaurant with the ability to seat parties of 2 to 8 people.

Upon arrival, I was shocked to see how packed it was, but that was telling of how good their food is. There were a lot of birthdays being celebrated that evening, and it was a Wednesday. They had a private room available, but there is a food minimum and you have to take your shoes off (floor table set up). Though we were offered the option, we decided to just sit in the main area since we were coming with a few older family members and didn't want them to struggle to put shoes back on later and they prefer sitting in chairs. They have sushi, teriyaki, platters and combination dishes. We all had something different, ordering from the combination options, teriyaki and some sushi on the side. Since we all ordered a special, it came with miso soup and salad. The food was brought out in a staggered manner - three out of the five of us got our food before the others, and they almost finished half of their dish before ours even came out. I had the beef teriyaki and I was shocked to see that it was a large piece of beef, and we were given knives to cut it up. I am used to the meats being already cut up, so this was different. The food was still good though! I will say that I wish there were more broccoli, than bean sprouts accompanying the meat - the dish was still delicious though! The chunk of meat was so large that I actually had leftovers to bring home as a second meal. The sushi was impressive. Not only was the selection so large and I wanted to order every single one of the special rolls (but I didn't because my eyes tend to be bigger than my stomach), they use all fresh ingredients. The shumai was unimpressive, but because everything else was good, I didn't really mind it. I feel like my rice bowl was not full, as most restaurants pack the rice into the bowl; whereas I felt like there were air pockets in mine so there was a little less. To my surprise, they had a decent dessert menu: several ice cream options, variety of mochi and a few cake selections. Because they knew we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised us with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with different cookies to share! It came out with a sparkler, and the employees singing along to a soundtrack played on the speakers. This really made my sister feel so special, and as I said before, it seemed like most of the larger parties there were also celebrating a birthday that evening. Delicious food, friendly service, easy parking and fun atmosphere!

Takumi Japanese Bistro and Bar…read more My first visit to this welcome addition to our local mall. The restaurant blends modern and traditional Japanese design and occupies the former space where a coffee shop once stood. There is ample free parking outside, though Friday evenings in this part of Columbia are notoriously busy. Food -- Thoughtfully presented, visually appealing, and made with fresh ingredients. Seafood Miso Soup -- A large bowl filled with whole fresh clams, scallops, shrimp, and green onion. A very generous portion--so much so that she brought some home to enjoy later. Salmon Skin Salad -- Pieces of salmon skin ranging from crispy to slightly chewy, mixed with cucumber, fish roe, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. A delicious combination. Signature Maki - "Maryland" Roll -- Beautifully presented with blue crab, shishito peppers (mild and slightly sweet), Old Bay-torched salmon, spicy mayo, and rice pearls. Both friends quickly devoured theirs. Prices felt somewhat higher than typical mall fare, but the freshness of the ingredients and attention to detail made it worthwhile. The entire staff we encountered were engaging and genuinely seemed happy to be there for their guests. A big nod to management for making hospitality an important part of the dining experience. One minor suggestion: the attractive menus could use periodic checks, as a few pages appeared a bit worn. I would happily recommend a visit--perhaps on a less hectic day so you can enjoy the décor and food at a more relaxed pace. There is also an outdoor patio that will be especially appealing once the warmer weather returns.

I could've ordered that alone and been fine, but I was also craving sushi. I'm saving most of the fried rice and vegetables for tomorrow. The bento box was pretty good. The vegetables tasted very fresh (I love my veggies). The rice was a little sticky for my liking, but the shrimp was good and plentiful. The California rolls were standard, and the dumplings & spring rolls were both good. The only negative I have for those is that they did not include a sauce for them. Luckily I keep sweet chilli sauce in my fridge. The shrimp tempura roll was okay. It had a slight bitterness to it that I think is because it was fried in old oil. The bento box arrived piping hot, which I liked. This was after being the second stop on the delivery. Overall, I think Quickway Japanese is solid and I would order from them again if I want a quick sushi/bento meal.
